We understand the importance of having a well-established and accessible mosque in our neighborhood, and Masjid At-Taqwa strives to fulfill this role with dedication and commitment.
Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang is conveniently located at Taman Desa Serdang, 43300 Seri Kembangan, Selangor, Malaysia. Its position within a residential area makes it easily accessible for residents of Desa Serdang and nearby townships. Whether you're walking from your home in Taman Desa Serdang or driving from a neighboring area in Seri Kembangan, the mosque is situated to be a central and convenient point for daily prayers and community events.
For those relying on public transport, while specific direct routes to the mosque might require some local knowledge or a short ride-hailing trip, the general Seri Kembangan area is well-served by public transportation networks, making the mosque reachable for a wider community. Ample parking facilities are usually available around the mosque, making it convenient for those who drive, especially during larger congregational prayers like Friday prayers and Eid prayers. However, as noted by a community member, during such peak times, it is always recommended to arrive early to secure a comfortable spot within the mosque premises.
The mosque's location in a mature residential area means it is integrated into the daily lives of many local families, fostering a sense of belonging and easy engagement with its activities.
Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang offers a range of essential services and programs designed to cater to the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Muslim community. These services are the backbone of any vibrant mosque, ensuring it remains relevant and beneficial to its congregants.
- Five Daily Congregational Prayers (Solat Fardhu): The mosque is open daily for all five obligatory prayers – Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha – providing a sacred space for Muslims to perform their prayers in congregation, which holds immense reward in Islam.
- Friday Prayers (Solat Jumaat): As a primary mosque in the area, Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang regularly conducts the weekly Friday sermon (khutbah) and congregational prayer, a significant religious obligation for Muslim men. Given the popularity and importance of this prayer, it is advisable to arrive early, as the capacity can be limited, as noted by a visitor.
- Religious Lectures and Classes (Ceramah and Kelas Agama): Like many community mosques in Selangor, Masjid At-Taqwa hosts regular religious talks and classes. These programs often cover various aspects of Islamic knowledge, including Quranic studies (Tafsir), Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and Islamic ethics. These classes cater to different age groups and levels of understanding, promoting continuous learning within the community.
- Special Islamic Observances: The mosque facilitates congregational prayers and activities for major Islamic festivals and events, such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. During the holy month of Ramadan, it organizes special nightly prayers (Tarawih) and often communal breaking of fast (iftar) sessions, fostering a strong sense of unity and shared experience.
- Children's Religious Classes (Kelas Fardhu Ain): Many local mosques prioritize the religious education of the younger generation. Masjid At-Taqwa is likely to offer basic religious education for children, teaching Quran recitation (Mengaji), fundamental Islamic manners, and core religious knowledge, laying a strong foundation for their faith.
- Funeral Services (Janazah): Mosques often provide facilities and assistance for Islamic funeral rites, including the washing of the deceased (mandikan jenazah) and performing the funeral prayer (solat jenazah), offering crucial support to families during difficult times.
- Nikah (Marriage) Services: It is common for mosques in Malaysia to offer their premises for Islamic marriage solemnization ceremonies (akad nikah) and provide guidance for couples embarking on their marital journey.
- Community Welfare Programs: Especially during significant Islamic months or festive periods, the mosque may organize charity drives, food distributions, or assistance programs for the needy within the Desa Serdang community, embodying the spirit of communal support and social responsibility.
- Spiritual Guidance and Counseling: The Imam or members of the mosque committee often provide informal spiritual advice and counseling to community members seeking guidance on various life matters in accordance with Islamic teachings.
Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang, while primarily a place of worship, also boasts features that make it a notable landmark and a central point for the community.
- Community-Focused Design: The mosque's architecture and layout are designed to be welcoming and functional, accommodating daily prayers as well as larger gatherings. The prayer halls are maintained to provide a serene and clean environment for worship.
- Women's Prayer Area: Many modern mosques prioritize providing a dedicated and comfortable space for female worshippers, and Masjid At-Taqwa is likely to have a designated area for women, ensuring inclusivity and ease of access for all congregants.
- Wudu Facilities: Essential for pre-prayer ablution, the mosque is equipped with proper wudu (ablution) facilities, ensuring cleanliness and convenience for worshippers.
- Active Management Committee: Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang is managed by a dedicated local committee and an Imam who are committed to overseeing its operations, maintaining its facilities, and organizing its various programs. Their active involvement ensures the mosque remains a vibrant and well-run institution.
- Strategic Location within Desa Serdang: Its placement within Taman Desa Serdang makes it a readily identifiable and accessible landmark for residents, fostering a sense of local ownership and pride.
One aspect brought up in community feedback relates to managing children's presence during prayers. While mosques are generally welcoming to families, parents are kindly reminded to ensure children maintain silence during key prayer times, especially during the Adhan (call to prayer) and Khutbah (sermon), out of respect for the sanctity of the prayer and other congregants. This collective effort ensures a peaceful and focused environment for everyone.
As a religious institution, Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional retail sense. Its value lies in the spiritual enrichment, educational opportunities, and community support it provides. However, the mosque frequently hosts special programs and events that could be considered "offers" in a communal context. These include:
- Free Religious Classes and Lectures: The educational programs offered by the mosque are usually free of charge, providing invaluable knowledge and spiritual guidance to all who attend.
- Community Iftar during Ramadan: During the holy month of Ramadan, the mosque often organizes communal iftar (breaking of fast) meals, which are typically free and open to the public, fostering a strong sense of togetherness.
- Qurban and Aqiqah Services: During Eid al-Adha, the mosque may facilitate Qurban (sacrifice) and Aqiqah (sacrifice for newborns) services for the community, ensuring these important Islamic practices are carried out correctly and the meat is distributed to those in need. These are invaluable services that ease the burden on individuals while ensuring religious obligations are met.
- Charity and Welfare Initiatives: Periodically, the mosque spearheads charity drives and welfare programs, offering opportunities for community members to contribute and for those in need to receive assistance. These initiatives are a form of community "offer" that benefits the less fortunate.
- Special Guest Speakers: From time to time, the mosque may invite renowned religious scholars or speakers to deliver special lectures, providing unique opportunities for congregants to gain deeper insights into Islam.
To stay informed about upcoming events, special programs, or any community-driven initiatives, it is highly recommended to check the mosque’s official communication channels, such as notice boards at the mosque, their official website (if available), or any social media pages they might maintain.

Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang is more than just a building; it is a living, breathing component of the Seri Kembangan community, especially for those residing in Desa Serdang. Its suitability for locals stems from several key aspects that resonate deeply with the needs and values of the Muslim population in Selangor.
Firstly, its prime location within Taman Desa Serdang ensures easy access for daily congregational prayers, fostering a strong sense of community and shared spiritual practice. Being able to walk or take a short drive to the mosque for daily prayers strengthens the bond between individuals and their faith, and between neighbors.
Secondly, the comprehensive range of services offered goes beyond mere worship. The educational programs, from Quranic classes to religious lectures, provide invaluable opportunities for continuous learning and spiritual development for all age groups, from children embarking on their religious journey to adults seeking deeper understanding. These programs contribute significantly to the intellectual and moral fabric of the community.
Thirdly, the mosque acts as a vital social hub. During festive seasons like Eid, special events in Ramadan, or even regular community welfare initiatives, Masjid At-Taqwa brings people together, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie, mutual support, and collective identity. It’s a place where friendships are forged, neighbors connect, and the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood flourishes. The efforts of the dedicated mosque committee and Imam further solidify its role as a well-managed and community-oriented institution.
While a previous comment highlighted the need for parents to manage children's noise during specific prayer times, this feedback can also be seen as an opportunity for the community to collectively uphold the sanctity of the mosque while still being welcoming to families. It underscores the shared responsibility in maintaining a conducive environment for worship for everyone.
In essence, Masjid At-Taqwa Desa Serdang provides a sanctuary for spiritual nourishment, a center for Islamic education, and a focal point for community engagement. It is a place where locals can strengthen their faith, learn about their religion, connect with fellow Muslims, and contribute to the well-being of their neighborhood. For the residents of Desa Serdang and wider Seri Kembangan, Masjid At-Taqwa stands as a pillar of faith, unity, and progress. We encourage all local Muslims to engage with its programs and become an active part of this cherished community institution.

Sep 06, 2024 · Happy Happy broA very nice mosque but the capacity is a bit limited so for events like Friday prayer or Eid prayer, it is recommended to come really early to get a comfortable place within the mosque
Jul 17, 2023 · Abdul Hafiz ZakariaA central mosque in Taman Desa Serdang where residents from adjacent/nearby neighbourhoods (e.g. Taman Balakong Jaya, Rumah Pangsa Seri Pulai, etc.) also come to perform the 5 daily congregational prayers. Like most Malaysian mosques, there are knowledge-seeking gatherings (after Maghrib) where religious speakers/scholars give enlightening speeches on Muslims' responsibilities and obligations. SubhanAllah.
