We will delve into its precise location within the vast mall, its accessibility, the range of services it provides, its key highlights as noted by users, any relevant operational details, and essential contact information. Ultimately, this article aims to convey why the Musolla IOI Citymall New/East Wing is an exceptionally suitable and highly valued facility for the local Muslim community in Seri Kembangan and beyond.
Its placement on the Lower Ground floor, especially near an entrance/exit and the AEON section, makes it exceptionally convenient for shoppers. As one reviewer noted, "I love how the surau is near the exit, as well as the entrance to Aeon. It's located at the G area, Lower Ground Floor (LG) of the new wing (east)." This proximity to key access points and anchor tenants ensures that the musolla is easily found, even for those unfamiliar with the mall's layout. The "New/East Wing" designation further helps in pinpointing its exact area within the expansive mall.
Accessibility to IOI City Mall itself is excellent. Situated in Seri Kembangan, the mall is easily reachable via major highways, including the LDP, SKVE, and MEX. Ample parking is available within the multi-story car park, and being located near "Parking G1" directly facilitates ease of access for those driving. For those using public transport, the mall is served by various bus routes, and ride-sharing services frequently operate to and from the location. The clearly marked signage within the mall also ensures that visitors can find the musolla with minimal difficulty, making it a highly convenient prayer facility for all Muslim shoppers and mall visitors.
- Daily Congregational Prayers: Facilitating the five daily prayers (Subuh, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) for both men and women, allowing shoppers and mall personnel to observe their prayers conveniently without having to leave the mall premises.
- Friday (Jumaat) Prayers: A significant recent development is its authorization to perform Jumaat prayers in congregation. This is a crucial service for Muslim men, enabling them to fulfill their weekly religious obligation within the mall, a major convenience for those spending their Fridays shopping or working.
- Ablution Facilities (Wudhu Area): Dedicated and well-maintained areas for performing wudhu (ablution) for both men and women, ensuring cleanliness and proper preparation for prayers.
- Separate Prayer Areas for Men and Women: The musolla provides designated sections for male and female worshippers, ensuring privacy and comfort. While the "muslimah section is small (just a partitioned section)" as per a review, it still offers a dedicated space.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Continuous upkeep of the prayer area, carpets, and ablution facilities to ensure a hygienic and respectful environment for worshippers.
- Prayer Garment Provision (Telekung): While not explicitly stated, it is common for mall musollas to provide clean telekung (prayer garments) for ladies, enhancing convenience for female worshippers.
- Strategic and Convenient Location: Its placement on the Lower Ground floor of the New/East Wing, between specific lot numbers and near the AEON entrance/exit, is a significant highlight. This ensures maximum accessibility for shoppers, minimizing the need to walk long distances across the vast mall to find a prayer space. As a reviewer noted, "conveniently located for shoppers and visitors" and "easily accessible and well-marked."
- Authorization for Friday Prayers: A major upgrade and highlight is that "After the renovation, this surau is now authorized to perform Friday prayers in congregation here." This is an immense convenience for Muslim men who are at the mall on Fridays, allowing them to fulfill their religious obligations without having to leave the premises, thus saving time and enhancing their overall mall experience.
- Spacious and Clean Main Prayer Hall: The musolla is described as "Big, spacious and clean." This indicates a comfortable and well-maintained environment for prayer, essential for accommodating a considerable number of worshippers, especially during peak hours and Jumaat prayers. A clean prayer space contributes to a peaceful and respectful atmosphere.
- Well-Maintained Ablution Areas: Although a reviewer noted "Limited toilet (1 seated toilet bowl, bidet, 2 squatting toilet bowl, water hose)," the overall emphasis on cleanliness in reviews suggests that the wudhu areas and toilets are generally "well-maintained," which is crucial for hygiene before prayers.
- Clear Signage: The musolla is "well-marked," making it easy to find even for first-time visitors or those unfamiliar with the sprawling mall. Clear directional signs are essential in a large complex to guide visitors efficiently.
While the Muslimah section is noted as being "small (just a partitioned section)" and toilet facilities limited during peak times, the overall convenience, cleanliness, and the significant authorization for Jumaat prayers remain its most compelling features, making it a highly valued amenity for the local Muslim community.
- Convenient Jumaat Prayer Access: The most significant "offer" is the authorization to hold Friday congregational prayers. This saves Muslim men the hassle of leaving the mall during peak shopping or working hours, allowing them to fulfill their religious duty seamlessly.
- Accessible Daily Prayers: Providing a clean, comfortable, and easily accessible space for all five daily prayers means shoppers and mall staff can observe their prayers without interrupting their activities, enhancing their overall experience at the mall.
- Comfort and Hygiene: The consistent effort to maintain cleanliness and comfort within the musolla, as highlighted by reviews ("Big, spacious and clean"), serves as an implicit "offer" of a pleasant prayer environment.
- Support for Religious Observance: By providing a dedicated and well-equipped prayer facility, the mall effectively "offers" a supportive environment for its Muslim patrons and employees to practice their faith comfortably.
- Community Spirit: Although not a formal program, the shared experience of praying in a communal space within the mall fosters a subtle sense of community among shoppers and staff.
- Enhanced Shopping Experience: For Muslim families and individuals, the presence of a reliable musolla means they can plan longer shopping trips or visits to the mall without worrying about missing prayer times, thus enhancing their overall satisfaction with the mall.
Information regarding prayer times, especially for Jumaat prayers, would typically be displayed prominently at the musolla entrance and potentially on the mall's official website or information kiosks. Visitors are encouraged to check these sources for the most up-to-date schedule.

As a prayer facility within a large shopping mall, direct phone numbers specifically for the musolla are generally not provided. For inquiries related to the musolla's facilities, operating hours (which typically align with mall hours, but can be slightly extended for Fajr/Isha), or Jumaat prayer timings, the best approach is to inquire at the mall's information counter or to consult the mall's official website. Information regarding prayer times for Jumaat is usually clearly displayed at the musolla entrance itself. The provided detailed address and specific location description within the mall are crucial for easy navigation once inside IOI City Mall.
A monumental highlight that makes this musolla particularly suitable for the local Muslim community is its recent authorization to perform Friday (Jumaat) prayers in congregation. This is a game-changer for Muslim men who might spend their Fridays at the mall, eliminating the need to leave the premises to fulfill their weekly religious obligation. This level of convenience significantly enhances the overall mall experience, allowing locals to seamlessly integrate their spiritual duties with their leisure or work activities.
Furthermore, the musolla's commitment to providing a "Big, spacious and clean" environment is highly appreciated. A well-maintained and hygienic prayer space, including ablution facilities, is paramount for worshippers. While the Muslimah section might be smaller, the overall dedication to cleanliness and comfort ensures that all who utilize the musolla can do so with peace of mind and reverence. This reflects a deep understanding of the local community's needs and values. In essence, the Musolla IOI Citymall New/East Wing is not just a prayer room; it is a testament to convenience, community support, and thoughtful planning within a bustling urban hub, making it an indispensable and highly cherished facility for the local Muslim population in Selangor.
