Alam Jaya Hakka LeiCha 客家擂茶 Introduce
Welcome, food enthusiasts of Selangor! Today, we’re taking a closer look at a local gem that has been serving up a taste of tradition right here in Cheras: Alam Jaya Hakka Lei Cha (客家擂茶). For those unfamiliar, Lei Cha, or Thunder Tea Rice, is a distinctive and healthy Hakka dish renowned for its vibrant green soup, usually made from a blend of various herbs, tea leaves, and nuts, served alongside rice and an array of finely chopped vegetables. It’s a dish celebrated for its nutritional value and unique flavor profile, and Alam Jaya Hakka Lei Cha offers their own take on this beloved classic.
This establishment has garnered attention for its commitment to this traditional dish, attracting both loyal patrons and curious newcomers eager to explore authentic Hakka cuisine. While the concept of Lei Cha might seem simple, the preparation involves meticulous grinding of ingredients for the soup base, a process that lends the dish its characteristic "thunder tea" name. Alam Jaya Hakka Lei Cha aims to provide a genuine experience, making it a noteworthy spot for anyone in Selangor seeking a wholesome and culturally rich meal.
What makes Lei Cha particularly appealing to many is its versatility and often vegetarian-friendly nature. It’s a meal that can be both light and fulfilling, making it a popular choice for those looking for a healthier alternative to typical Malaysian fare. Alam Jaya Hakka Lei Cha continues this tradition, offering a version of the dish that, according to some patrons, stands out with its distinct bitter notes in the soup – a characteristic that some find appealing and others a unique deviation from what they might be accustomed to. This particular nuance contributes to its identity, setting it apart in the local culinary landscape.
Alam Jaya Hakka Lei Cha is conveniently situated in Taman Alam Jaya, 43200 Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia. Its location right beside the road makes it relatively easy to spot for those passing through the area. However, it's worth noting that parking might require a bit of navigating, as customers often need to park their vehicles at nearby shop lots due to its roadside placement. This is a common characteristic of many local eateries in bustling areas like Cheras, and while it might require a short walk, the convenience of finding the establishment itself is generally good.

Alam Jaya Hakka LeiCha 客家擂茶 Reviews
Sibehhhh hottt eating here, leicha soup is bitter, taste average only, not my kind of leicha, also need to park ur car at nearby shoplot cuz its right beside the road - Rm10 / April 25
Apr 19, 2025 · Sim Hui CheahTheir leicha is delicious but tastes a bit different from others. It has more of a bitter taste which is fine for me. However, the place is very hot in the afternoon and we witnessed the staff stir the pot of soup and taste it with the same ladle which is kind of unhygienic. The drinks are also very diluted and overly sweet. May come back next time to dapao only.

Jan 30, 2022 · Fayfay Xiao TingHakka LeiCha 客家擂茶 is an acquired taste. Traditionally a household cuisine but this humble roadside stall has attracted quite a following. The taste is authentic, food is freshly prepared and healthy. The is the soul of the meal.
Dec 07, 2020 · Sukuan HonIt’s a roadside stall. Signs are only written in chinese. I can’t read Chinese, so thanks to google I got to know abt this place. Price was reasonable. Taste is good, but not the best I’ve eaten. The soup has a bitter aftertaste which I don’t mind. Auntie and uncle were very friendly. It’s situated next to a Malay stall. If the stall is too crowded, she’d allow you to sit there. Sometimes the auntie would get rice from them. It’s so beautiful to see how they get along with each other.
