Bukit seladang

27000 Jerantut, Pahang, Malaysia

4.0
Started early at 6am, the walk from where we parked commence and soon after, about 300m we came to the cemented pavement. Its all the way uphill for 20-25 mins before we went off to join the trail up to 370m top. We were greeted with countless mosquitoes all the way to our next peak at 444m. Mosies were everywhere and followed us all the way back to base 😅. Overall a pleasant 2 hours spent before we head off to town for breakfast at kedai makanan Good Luck - Alvin Ng

Known for its steep inclines and the breathtaking "sea of clouds" phenomenon, Bukit Seladang is more than just a hill; it’s a local landmark that promises invigorating physical activity and unforgettable natural vistas, right here in our home state.

Bukit Seladang, located in Jerantut, is a popular destination for hikers of varying experience levels, though it’s particularly noted for its consistently uphill climb. As one of our local hikers shared, it's a "sharp constant uphill hike," with part of the initial ascent on a cemented pavement before transitioning to a more natural trail. This unique blend of terrain, starting with a paved section and then moving into rugged forest paths, provides an interesting and engaging challenge. The elevation of Bukit Seladang reaches approximately 370m to 444m at its various peaks, making it a substantial climb that yields impressive rewards.

What truly sets Bukit Seladang apart for us locals is the promise of stunning natural phenomena. It is widely recognized as a prime viewpoint for witnessing spectacular sunrises and, on fortunate mornings, a mesmerizing "sea of clouds" (awan karpet) stretching across the landscape. This makes the early start, often around 6 AM, well worth the effort. The experience of ascending in the pre-dawn light and being greeted by such a magnificent display of nature's artistry is truly unparalleled and creates lasting memories for all who make the climb.

Whether you're an avid hiker seeking to push your limits, a nature photographer hunting for that perfect shot, or simply a local looking for a memorable outdoor adventure with friends or family, Bukit Seladang provides the ideal setting. Jerantut is a significant town in central Pahang and serves as a gateway to Taman Negara, making Bukit Seladang a well-positioned natural attraction for both local residents and visitors to the region.

For us locals in Pahang, accessing Bukit Seladang is most efficiently done by personal vehicle, either a car or a motorcycle. Jerantut is well-connected by major federal and state roads, ensuring a relatively smooth journey from various parts of Pahang. Once in Jerantut, local roads will lead you to the base of Bukit Seladang. While there isn't a precise street address for the starting point, local knowledge and GPS navigation applications are highly effective. As one reviewer noted, the walk commences from where vehicles are parked, suggesting informal parking areas at the base of the hill. Utilizing navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps with "Bukit Seladang, Jerantut" as your destination should guide you accurately to the trailhead.

Public transportation directly to the specific starting point of Bukit Seladang is generally limited, given its nature as an outdoor recreational area rather than a central urban hub. While buses and potentially trains (if available to Jerantut town) serve the broader Jerantut area, reaching the trailhead from the town center would likely require a short taxi ride or a ride-hailing service. Therefore, for convenience and flexibility, driving your own vehicle remains the most practical method for us locals to access Bukit Seladang.
