---## Location and Accessibility
Kajang Star Hotel is located at No 15A-C, Jalan M/J 1, Taman Majlis Jaya, Sungai Chua, 43000 Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia. This address places it within the Sungai Chua area, a bustling and well-developed part of Kajang. Sungai Chua is known for its local businesses, eateries, and a mix of residential and commercial properties, offering a lively local atmosphere.
For residents of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Kajang is a highly accessible district. It serves as a significant hub in the southern part of Selangor, with good connectivity to various major roads and public transport networks.
By Car: The hotel's location in Taman Majlis Jaya, Sungai Chua, means it is generally accessible by car. Kajang is well-connected via:
Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga Highway): Provides a direct link from Cheras and Kuala Lumpur.
SILK Highway (Sistem Lingkaran-Lebuhraya Kajang): Connects various parts of Kajang and surrounding areas, including Semenyih and Balakong.
PLUS Highway (North-South Expressway): While not directly adjacent, Kajang is within reasonable distance of PLUS exits, making it accessible for those traveling from further afield.
By Public Transport: Kajang boasts robust public transport links, making the hotel potentially accessible without a private vehicle:
KTM Komuter: Kajang station is a major interchange for the KTM Komuter line, connecting it to Kuala Lumpur and other parts of the Klang Valley.
MRT Kajang Line: The Sungai Jernih MRT Station or Kajang MRT Station would be the closest MRT stops. From these stations, guests would likely need to take a short bus ride, taxi, or ride-hailing service (Grab) to reach Taman Majlis Jaya, Sungai Chua. The hotel is situated in an area generally well-served by local transport options, ensuring convenient movement for guests.
The surrounding Sungai Chua area offers numerous local eateries, convenience stores, and basic amenities, providing guests with easy access to necessities during their stay.
---## Services Offered
Kajang Star Hotel, as a budget-friendly hotel, would typically offer a basic set of services essential for a short stay. However, it's crucial to cross-reference these expectations with the provided customer reviews, which highlight significant shortcomings in actual service delivery.
Expected Services (Standard for Budget Hotels):
Accommodation: Provision of private guest rooms for single, double, or family occupancy. These rooms typically come with a bed, a private bathroom, and basic furnishings.
Reception Services: A front desk or reception area for check-in/check-out, general inquiries, and potentially assistance with local information.
Air-Conditioning: Given Malaysia's climate, air-conditioned rooms are a standard expectation in almost all hotels, even budget ones.
Private Bathroom: Each room is expected to have an attached bathroom with a toilet and shower facilities.
Basic Toiletries: Often, budget hotels provide complimentary basic toiletries like soap and shampoo.
Clean Linens & Towels: Fresh bed linens and towels are fundamental expectations for any hotel stay.
Room Key Access: A method for secure room access, typically a physical key or card key.
Critical Discrepancies and Issues Reported in Reviews:
Receptionist Rudeness & Lack of Attention: A major complaint highlights a "very rude" receptionist who was "talking on the phone all the time," indicating severe issues with customer service and professionalism.
Non-Functional Air-Conditioning: A guest reported the "Air Conditioner not functioning" and being extremely hot all night. The explanation given by the receptionist ("centralised and cannot control by remote" despite a remote being in the room) points to either a significant fault or misleading information, leading to extreme discomfort.
Mosquito Infestation: The presence of "mosquitoes everywhere!!!" is a serious health and comfort issue, indicating poor pest control and unhygienic conditions.
Booking Discrepancies & Room Availability Issues: One review details a severe problem where a pre-booked room was allegedly given to other guests, leading to arguments and a highly unpleasant check-in experience. This suggests fundamental issues with booking management and honoring reservations.
Overall Low Quality: The sentiment "Doesn’t worth a star" and "Not even worth my 1 star rating" indicates that the actual service and room conditions fell far below even basic budget hotel standards.
Given these severe and repeated negative feedbacks, potential guests should approach Kajang Star Hotel with extreme caution and be prepared for a potentially very uncomfortable and frustrating experience. The listed "expected services" appear to be inconsistently delivered or completely absent based on real customer accounts.
---## Features / Highlights
When considering Kajang Star Hotel, it's essential to differentiate between theoretical features and the actual guest experience based on the provided customer reviews. While a hotel in its location might conceptually offer certain advantages, the critical feedback severely impacts its perceived highlights.
Theoretical Features (Based on Location and Type of Establishment):
Strategic Location in Sungai Chua, Kajang: The hotel's address places it in a busy commercial and residential area. This could theoretically be a highlight for guests needing quick access to local shops, eateries, and businesses in Sungai Chua. Its proximity to various local amenities is generally convenient for short stays.
Accessibility to Major Roads and Public Transport: Kajang's well-connected road network (Grand Saga, SILK Highways) and access to KTM Komuter and MRT stations theoretically make the hotel easy to reach for locals, reducing travel time.
Budget-Friendly Accommodation: As a "Star Hotel" likely operating in the budget category, its primary theoretical feature would be offering affordable lodging. This appeals to cost-conscious travelers seeking a basic place to sleep.
Critical Discrepancies / Reported Lowlights (Based on Customer Reviews):
Non-Functional Air-Conditioning: This is a severe problem in Malaysia's hot climate. A non-functioning or uncontrollable air-conditioning system is not just a lack of comfort, but a major detriment to a good night's sleep, as explicitly stated by a guest who "was sweating all night!"
Pervasive Mosquitoes: The report of "mosquitoes everywhere!!!" is a significant health and comfort issue. This points to very poor pest control and creates an unhygienic and irritating environment that prevents rest.
Extremely Poor Customer Service: The descriptions of a "very rude" receptionist who was "talking on the phone all the time" are major red flags. Such unhelpful and unprofessional staff negates any potential positive experience and creates an unwelcoming atmosphere from the moment of check-in.
Booking Incompetence: The incident where a pre-booked room was apparently given to other guests, requiring an argument to resolve, highlights fundamental issues with hotel operations and reliability. This creates extreme stress and frustration for guests, rendering the booking process itself a "bad experience."
Misleading Amenities (AC Remote): The presence of an air-conditioner remote that cannot control the unit (with the excuse of a "centralised" system) suggests either a deceptive practice or a gross oversight, making guests feel like "dummies."
Overall Substandard Quality: The repeated sentiment that the hotel "doesn't worth a star" and "not even worth my 1 star rating" indicates that its actual condition and service fall far below even the lowest acceptable standards for hotels, even budget ones.
In summary, while Kajang Star Hotel's location might offer theoretical convenience, the overwhelming and consistent negative feedback regarding fundamental aspects like comfort, cleanliness, and staff professionalism means that none of its potential features translate into actual highlights for the guest.
---## Contact Information
For any inquiries, to confirm availability, or to discuss specific concerns before considering a booking at Kajang Star Hotel, you can directly contact them using the provided phone numbers. ---## Conclusion: Why This Place Is Suitable for Locals
For locals in Selangor considering Kajang Star Hotel in Sungai Chua, Kajang, it is imperative to approach this option with extreme caution. While the hotel's location offers some inherent advantages for convenience, the overwhelming and severe negative feedback from real customers strongly suggests that it may not be suitable for a comfortable or satisfactory stay.
Conceptually, a hotel in Sungai Chua, Kajang, could be suitable for locals needing a quick, budget-friendly stopover for various reasons:
Location Convenience: Its presence in a commercial area like Sungai Chua means easy access to local eateries, shops, and basic services, which is convenient for those familiar with the area. Good road connectivity to major highways and proximity to KTM/MRT stations would typically be a plus for local travel.
Budget Accommodation: For those seeking the absolute lowest price point for a night's stay, hotels in this category are often the go-to option.
However, these theoretical advantages are severely undermined by the actual guest experiences reported. The issues raised are not minor inconveniences but fundamental flaws that directly impact basic guest comfort and trust:
Unbearable Room Conditions: Non-functional air-conditioning in Malaysia's climate is a deal-breaker for a good night's sleep, leading to extreme discomfort. The presence of "mosquitoes everywhere!!!" further exacerbates this, making the room an unwelcome environment and posing health concerns.
Appalling Customer Service: "Very rude" receptionists who are disengaged and unhelpful create an unwelcoming atmosphere from the moment of arrival. Such a lack of professionalism is unacceptable in any service industry, especially hospitality, and can severely sour the entire experience.
Booking Reliability Issues: The most egregious issue is the report of pre-booked rooms being given away and requiring arguments to resolve. This fundamental failure in honoring reservations creates immense stress and demonstrates a critical lack of operational integrity. For locals relying on confirmed bookings, this is a major breach of trust.
Misleading Amenities: The presence of an AC remote for a supposedly "centralised" system that cannot be controlled is deceptive and frustrating, treating guests as if they are "dummies."
Given these severe and consistent negative feedback points, it is extremely difficult to recommend Kajang Star Hotel as suitable for locals seeking even a basic, comfortable, and hassle-free stay. The issues reported go beyond minor complaints and touch upon fundamental aspects of hotel operations and guest well-being. Locals are advised to heed these warnings and explore other accommodation options in Kajang that have a more consistent and positive track record for cleanliness, comfort, and professional service, even if it means paying a slightly higher price for peace of mind. Your sleep and overall experience are worth more than the potential savings offered by a place with such significant and recurring problems.

Apr 28, 2018 · Danial ZamriJust imagine when you got there, workers over there told you that you dont have the room even though you already book it in the morning. He gave the room to 5 indians and after an arguement 5 indians move out and asked me to move into that room.I never experienced anything like this before. Not even worth my 1 star rating.
Apr 12, 2018 · Tan Chun TatThe price is so cheap. I got a room with one double bed and one single bed for RM63, which is quite reasonable. However, this hotel should improvise their customer service as I am having a not so nice experience here.
