Skybridge Petronas Twin Towers

201A-C, Jln Ampang, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

4.0
Good experience, recommended too for those with fear of heights because it wasn't that bad. The elevator ride was super fast mind you, but it will give slight comfort to your ears due to the high and fast speed of it. The views were stunning from the glass windows, though a fair warning that the bridge itself (no photo of the bridge itself taken, sorry) might shake a bit so it will be scary. They gave you quite short time to take pictures at the bridge, understandable. There is a photo place (pricey) and souvenir shop. A lot of cool displays as well. Definitely recommend you to get tix beforehand at the website, you can walk in but can't guarantee if you can get in fast. No tripod allowed as it is risky, gotta go through an airport like bag check. - Ain Aisyah

The Petronas Twin Towers have long been a symbol of Malaysia's modern progress and architectural prowess. At their heart lies the Skybridge, a remarkable double-decker bridge that connects the two towers at levels 41 and 42. Standing 170 meters above ground, this engineering marvel isn't just a passageway; it's a destination in itself, offering panoramic views that will make you appreciate Kuala Lumpur in a whole new light. Whether you're a long-time resident or just looking for a fantastic day out with family and friends, the Skybridge promises an experience that combines awe-inspiring heights with insightful glimpses into the towers' history and design.

Location and Accessibility

The Skybridge is nestled within the Petronas Twin Towers, which are prominently located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). The official address is 201A-C, Jln Ampang, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This central location makes it incredibly easy to access from almost anywhere in Kuala Lumpur.

For those relying on public transport, the KLCC LRT station (Kelana Jaya Line) is directly connected to Suria KLCC mall, which is situated at the base of the towers. From the LRT station, it's just a short, comfortable walk through the mall to reach the entrance for the Petronas Twin Towers visit. If you prefer to drive, there's ample parking available within the Suria KLCC complex. Alternatively, ride-sharing services are readily available throughout Kuala Lumpur, making for a convenient drop-off right at the towers' doorstep. The location is also highly pedestrian-friendly, with elevated walkways connecting to various parts of the city center, including Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, providing a pleasant stroll to the towers.

Features / Highlights

  • Architectural Marvel: Standing on the Skybridge, you get a unique, close-up view of the intricate details of the Petronas Twin Towers themselves. The bridge, weighing 750 tons, is an independent structure, designed to slide in and out of the towers to account for wind and thermal expansion, a truly remarkable engineering feat.
  • Panoramic City Views: From the glass windows of the Skybridge, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. You can see iconic landmarks, the lush KLCC Park, and the sprawling city below, offering a fresh perspective on familiar sights.
  • The Thrill of Heights: As some visitors have noted, while it might feel a bit scary due to the height and slight sway, the experience isn't overly daunting, even for those with a fear of heights. The clear glass panels provide an exhilarating sense of being suspended mid-air.
  • Connection to the Observation Deck: Your Skybridge visit is typically part of a larger tour that includes access to the 86th-floor Observation Deck. This allows for a comprehensive experience of the towers from different heights and perspectives.
  • Educational Insights: The experience provides an opportunity to learn about the history and construction of the Petronas Twin Towers, a testament to Malaysia's ambition and engineering prowess.
  • Iconic Photo Opportunity: The Skybridge is arguably one of the most Instagrammable spots in Kuala Lumpur, offering an unparalleled backdrop for your photos.
