Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Assalamualaikum and greetings, Kuala Lumpur residents! When we look for a hotel in our dynamic city, whether it's for visiting family, business delegates, or even for a quick local escape, we often seek a balance between convenience, comfort, and value for money. Today, let's take a closer look at Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC, located right here in Kuala Lumpur. This hotel aims to provide accommodation, particularly appealing to those seeking proximity to the World Trade Centre (WTC KL) area.
However, it's important for us as local users, who value transparency and a good experience, to approach information about hotels with a discerning eye. We've gathered some recent feedback from real customers about their stays at Leo Palace Hotel New Wing KL. While all businesses strive for excellence, these reviews highlight some significant concerns that prospective guests, especially us locals, should be aware of. Issues raised include visible stains on bedsheets, disappointing breakfast experiences (not buffet-style as implied, and sometimes not provided at all), non-functioning in-room facilities like mini-fridges and telephones, privacy violations by housekeeping, and a general feeling that the hotel does not live up to a 3-star rating or the price paid. Specifically, the lack of in-room WiFi was a recurring point of frustration. This overview aims to present a factual account, allowing you to make an informed decision, based on the experiences of previous guests. It's crucial for us to have clear expectations to avoid disappointment, and these insights are provided to help you understand what you might encounter if you choose to stay here.
Location and Accessibility
Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC is situated at 18, Jalan Rahmat, Off Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Chow Kit, 50350 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For us living in Kuala Lumpur, this address places the hotel in the vibrant and bustling area of Chow Kit, just off the major thoroughfare of Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (formerly part of Jalan Ipoh). This location is known for its blend of traditional markets, local eateries, and commercial activity.
The hotel's proximity to the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC KL) is a definite advantage, particularly for those attending conferences, exhibitions, or business events at this prominent venue. WTC KL is within comfortable walking distance, making it highly convenient for delegates. In terms of public transport, the area is relatively well-served. It is close to the PWTC LRT station and the Chow Kit Monorail station, providing connectivity to various parts of the city, including popular areas like Bukit Bintang, KL Sentral, and the Petronas Twin Towers (though these require transfers). Numerous bus routes also operate along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, offering further options for getting around. While being in Chow Kit means a lively environment with local shops and food stalls just steps away, the surrounding area can sometimes feel congested, especially during peak hours. For those driving, the hotel reportedly offers free on-site parking, which is a valuable amenity in a city like Kuala Lumpur. This location allows guests to experience an authentic side of KL, with easy access to both local amenities and major city landmarks, provided they are comfortable with the urban bustle.
Services Offered
Based on general hotel amenities for a property of this type and information from public listings, Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC would typically aim to offer a range of services for guests. However, it's important to cross-reference these with the customer feedback provided, which indicates some discrepancies in service delivery.
Standard services that the hotel generally advertises or that can be expected of a hotel in this category include:
- 24-Hour Front Desk: To assist with check-in, check-out, and general inquiries at any time.
- Air-Conditioned Rooms: Essential for comfort in Malaysia's climate.
- Daily Housekeeping: For room tidiness and cleanliness.
- Private Bathrooms: With showers and basic toiletries.
- Television: For in-room entertainment.
- On-site Restaurant/Café: For dining, particularly breakfast.
- Complimentary Bottled Water: A common amenity in Malaysian hotels.
- Elevator Access: To all floors.
- Parking Facilities: Available on-site, often free.
- Security: 24-hour security measures.
However, based on the provided customer reviews, it is important to note that the delivery of some services has been problematic:
- Breakfast: Customers reported that breakfast was not buffet-style as advertised and was minimal (plain fried rice with egg), and on one occasion, not provided at all due to the café being closed without prior notification.
- In-room Facilities: Mini-fridges and in-room telephones to reception were reported as unavailable or non-functioning.
- WiFi Service: There were explicit complaints about the lack of WiFi service in the rooms, which is a significant inconvenience in modern travel.
- Housekeeping: A serious concern was raised about housekeeping staff entering rooms without permission.
Features / Highlights
When considering Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC, certain features and highlights are typically promoted or expected, though the provided reviews indicate that these might not always be consistently delivered. It's crucial for us, as locals, to understand what the hotel theoretically offers versus what has been experienced:
- Strategic Location: Its proximity to the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC KL) is a primary highlight for business travelers or those attending events.
- Accessibility to Public Transport: Being near LRT and Monorail stations offers convenient connectivity to other parts of KL.
- Affordable Price Point: The hotel aims to provide accommodation at a reasonable price, which can be a key deciding factor for many.
- On-site Parking: This is a significant advantage in a dense urban area like Kuala Lumpur, especially for those traveling by car.
- Outdoor Swimming Pool: Some sources indicate the presence of an outdoor pool, which could be a recreational feature for guests. (However, the reviews did not mention using or experiencing this, nor was it consistently listed in highlights by disappointed guests.)
- 24-Hour Front Desk: A standard feature that ensures assistance is always available.
- Variety of Room Types: Offering different room configurations (e.g., standard, deluxe, triple) to cater to various guest needs.
However, it is vital to acknowledge the significant discrepancies noted in customer feedback, which detract from these potential highlights:
- Inconsistent Service Quality: The reviews highlight serious issues with breakfast, room amenities, and staff conduct (e.g., privacy invasion), indicating a lack of consistent quality control.
- Lack of In-Room WiFi: A major inconvenience in today's connected world, directly contradicting common expectations for a modern hotel.
- Perceived Value for Money: Multiple guests felt the price paid was not justified by the services and experience received, strongly suggesting a mismatch between expectation and delivery.
- Questionable Star Rating: Guests explicitly stated that the hotel does not deserve its 3-star rating based on their experiences.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For us, the discerning residents of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, choosing a hotel, even for visiting guests or a local stay, involves weighing convenience, facilities, and crucially, value. Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC, despite its strategic location near the World Trade Centre and its relatively affordable price point, presents a mixed bag based on recent customer experiences. Its primary suitability for locals, particularly for those attending events at WTC KL, lies in its sheer proximity and accessibility to public transport routes, which can be a significant advantage in navigating our city's traffic.
However, it is paramount that we approach this hotel with tempered expectations, particularly concerning the quality of service and amenities. The detailed feedback from past guests regarding stained bedsheets, disappointing breakfast services (or lack thereof), non-functioning in-room facilities, privacy concerns with housekeeping, and the absence of in-room WiFi are serious issues that directly impact comfort and satisfaction. For us locals, who value transparency and reliability, this means being fully aware of what to expect to avoid disappointment. If the primary criteria are strictly location near WTC and a very budget-conscious stay, and one is prepared for potentially basic or inconsistent services as reported, then it might serve a very specific, utilitarian purpose. Otherwise, for those seeking a consistently comfortable experience with expected amenities and reliable service, it might be advisable to thoroughly verify current conditions or consider alternatives. Ultimately, for us in Kuala Lumpur, suitability often comes down to dependable quality, and it appears future guests should actively confirm that the issues highlighted in these reviews have been addressed by the management.

Leo Palace Hotel @ WTC Reviews
Hotel Review / Feedback – Leo Palace Hotel New Wing KLI am very disappointed with my recent stay at Leo Palace Hotel New Wing KL. There were several serious issues that need to be addressed:1. The bed sheet provided had visible stains, which was unhygienic and unacceptable.2. The breakfast was not up to standard — only a small portion of plain fried rice with an egg and a cup of drink was given. It was not buffet-style as advertised, and this should have been clearly stated in the app to avoid misleading customers.3. On the second day, breakfast was not provided at all. When I inquired during check-out, I was told the café was closed after 9 a.m., but no such information was ever communicated to us in advance.4. Essential room facilities such as the mini fridge and in-room telephone to the reception were either unavailable or not functioning.5. Housekeeping staff entered the room without permission, violating our privacy.6. Based on this experience, the hotel does not deserve a 3-star rating.7. There was no WiFi service available in the room, which was inconvenient and disappointing.8. The price paid was not worth the value received. It would have been better to book a room without breakfast. Very disappointed overall.I hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and improves their services. Guests deserve transparency and quality service that matches what is promised.
May 08, 2025 · Nur SyakirahFeedback on recent stay - Leo Palace Hotel New Wing KLI am very disappointed with my recent stay at Leo Palace Hotel New Wing KL. There were several issues that made the experience unpleasant:1. The check-in process was unnecessarily troublesome. I was told that my booking ID was not found in the hotel’s email, which caused a delay. The room provided was very basic and felt like it was just given for the sake of it.2. I paid for a room with breakfast included, but no breakfast was provided. This should have been clearly communicated in the app to avoid misleading customers.3. The in-room facilities were very poor — there was no mini fridge, and the telephone to call reception was either missing or not functioning.4. This hotel does not deserve a 3-star rating at all.5. There was no WiFi available in the room, which was very inconvenient.6. The price I paid was not worth the service or experience I received. Honestly, it would have been better if I had booked without breakfast. Very disappointed.I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and make improvements for future guests.
May 08, 2025 · Mohd Syafiq Mohd SaadDisappointing StayCheck-in was a mess — had to wait almost an hour past the stated time because the room wasn’t ready. A complete waste of my time. The room had a TV, but no remote control. When I asked the front desk, they casually said the TV wasn’t provided. Why even put a TV in the room then? Overall, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Will not return, and definitely won’t recommend.
Jun 27, 2025 · Ghazali Shafieilocated 300m away from WTC KL and walking distance to International Book Fair. Easily access to food and other parts of the ChowKit.I booked a Queen size bedroom and when I arrived, they told me it was full and they replaced with 2 single-bed room. The toilet was alright except the toilet bowl was dirty as showed in the picture.
