The strategic location of Sopoong@Setia City Mall ensures its high accessibility for residents across Shah Alam and surrounding areas in Selangor. Setia City Mall itself is well-situated and easily reachable via major roads and highways connecting various parts of Selangor. For those driving, the mall provides extensive parking facilities, ensuring a hassle-free visit, though it can get busy during peak hours. Its position on the lower ground floor makes it easily discoverable within the mall's diverse F&B offerings, providing a seamless transition from shopping or leisure activities to a delightful Korean meal. This ease of access significantly contributes to its popularity as a convenient and appealing dining choice for the community.
Sopoong@Setia City Mall is dedicated to providing an authentic and satisfying Korean dining experience. As a Korean franchise restaurant within a mall setting, they offer a range of services and food items to cater to diverse tastes. Their core offerings typically include:
Dine-in Service: A comfortable, clean, and air-conditioned environment for patrons to enjoy their meals. This is a key feature for an in-mall restaurant, offering respite from the heat and bustling crowds.
Extensive Korean Menu: A wide variety of classic Korean dishes, including popular items like Kimchi Fried Rice, various soups and stews (e.g., Tteokbokki, Sundubu-jjigae), different types of Kimbap, and other main courses. While specific dishes may vary in consistency, the breadth of the menu aims to offer something for everyone.
Takeaway/Tapao Options: Services for customers to order food for takeaway, providing convenience for those who prefer to dine at home or on the go. (Note: A customer review mentioned an extra charge for a paper bag, which is a detail to be aware of for tapao orders).
Beverage Selection: A range of non-alcoholic drinks (soft drinks, teas, Korean traditional beverages) to complement the meal. While not explicitly mentioned, Korean restaurants often offer Korean alcoholic beverages like soju or makgeolli, subject to licensing and availability.
Side Dishes (Banchan): Authentic Korean dining typically includes a variety of complimentary side dishes (banchan) served with main courses, though specific policies might vary in a franchise setting.
Customer Service: As highlighted by reviews, the "service is good" and staff are "friendly," ensuring a pleasant and efficient dining experience.
Sopoong@Setia City Mall stands out among Korean dining establishments in Selangor due to several key features that enhance the overall customer experience, drawing both regulars and new visitors:
Clean and Air-Conditioned Environment: Being an "inside-mall-Korean franchise restaurant," cleanliness and a comfortable, air-conditioned setting are guaranteed. This provides a pleasant escape from the Malaysian heat and a relaxed dining atmosphere.
Good Food with Reasonable Portions and Taste: General customer feedback indicates that the "food is good with portion and taste," suggesting satisfying meals that offer good value for money. While individual dish preferences vary (e.g., the Jukkumi review), the overall quality is generally positive.
Reasonable Pricing: The comment "price is reasonable" makes Sopoong an attractive option for those seeking authentic Korean flavours without a hefty price tag, fitting well within typical local dining budgets.
Efficient and Friendly Service: Consistently praised in reviews, the "good service" and "friendly" staff significantly enhance the dining experience, making patrons feel welcomed and well-attended to. This contributes greatly to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Must-Try Kimchi Fried Rice: While one dish was "highly not recommended," the "kimchi fried rice is okay," suggesting it's a reliable and perhaps a 'safer' choice for those looking for a classic Korean staple.
Kimbab Quality: One review states, "Tapao some kimbab, taste better than CU," which is a strong endorsement for their kimbab, suggesting it's a popular and well-received item, even for takeaway.
Spice Level Awareness: The highlight that "some item could be very hot for some" is a useful feature, as it indicates transparency about their spice levels, allowing diners to choose according to their preference.

Combo Deals: Special offers when ordering a combination of popular dishes or adding on side dishes/drinks.
Weekday Specials: Discounts or special promotions available only on weekdays to encourage patronage during less busy periods.
Beverage Promotions: Deals on selected drinks, such as Korean traditional teas, soft drinks, or even soju (if applicable and licensed).
Loyalty Programs: A system where regular customers earn points or receive discounts on future visits, encouraging repeat business.
Seasonal Promotions: Special offers tied to Korean festivals or major holidays (e.g., Chuseok, Lunar New Year) or local Malaysian holidays, sometimes featuring special limited-time dishes.
Mall-Wide Promotions: Participation in special mall-organized events or promotions, offering discounts to mall loyalty program members or specific credit card holders.
Takeaway/Delivery Deals: Special pricing for orders placed for self-pickup or through food delivery platforms, encouraging off-premise dining.

Sopoong@Setia City Mall Reviews
Jukkumi(octopus) Bokkeum HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! I was craving for something spicy and ordered this. You only got few thin tentacles (only 1/4 of the plate) while the rest are just cabbages! Very disappointed with the portions of jukkumi given.Other menu like kimchi fried rice is okay.
May 10, 2025 · NurhusninaClean and airconed inside-mall-Korean franchise restaurant, food is good with portion and taste, but do watch out the spicy level, some item could be very hot for some, price is reasonable, and the service is good..Tapao some kimbab, taste better than CU. Four stars only cause they charge me extra Rm1 for the tapao paper bag, duuuh....
Apr 08, 2025 · Ben ChuaFood was okay. Atmosphere was good. Cleanliness was good too. A lot of variety in menu. Service was good too especially the local Malaysian staff there. The boss gave us some free stuff too as desserts. Good place to hang out with colleagues.
Jul 19, 2024 · J Wwe were so hungry & had a long day so we just wanted a good food to make up our day. we’ve spent rm60+ for both meals & drinks. the japchae tastes like mee with kicap. while, the jjangmyeon also tastes quite similar (also mee masak kicap) but the only difference got chicken there. so. so. disappointing. pls follow sop when cooking. cook FOOD that people can truly eat. you serve to people who paid. Legit my first & last eating Soopong especially here in SCM mall. Do better.
