The V Hotel Introduce
Salam sejahtera, warga Kuantan dan Pahang! When we look for a place to stay, whether it's for visiting family, a short business trip, or even just a convenient stopover in Kuantan, we always hope for a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Let's discuss The V Hotel, located on Jalan Haji Abdul Rahman. As locals, we rely on honest information to make informed decisions about where to stay, and understanding the real picture of an establishment is key.
The V Hotel is situated in a central part of Kuantan, an area often considered for its accessibility to various points of interest. It aims to provide accommodation for travelers and visitors to our state capital. For us, when we have guests coming to town, or if we need a temporary place to stay ourselves, factors like location, comfort, and the overall experience truly matter. While many hotels strive to offer a seamless stay, it's important to be aware of all aspects when making a choice.
Recent feedback from guests suggests that experiences at The V Hotel can be quite varied and, in some cases, challenging. It appears that while the location might be convenient, there have been significant concerns raised regarding certain aspects of its service and room quality. This information is crucial for anyone in Pahang considering The V Hotel, as we value transparency and want to ensure our stays, or those of our guests, are as pleasant as possible.
It is always wise to consider both positive and negative experiences when evaluating a hotel, especially when planning important trips or accommodating loved ones. Let's delve deeper into the available information about The V Hotel, from its location to its reported services and features, to help you form a complete picture.

The V Hotel is strategically located at 98, Jalan Haji Abdul Rahman, 25000 Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. For us Kuantan residents and those familiar with the city, Jalan Haji Abdul Rahman is a well-known street in the heart of the city center. This central location is often a prime consideration for convenience and accessibility to various amenities and attractions.
Being on Jalan Haji Abdul Rahman means the hotel is likely within easy reach of Kuantan's commercial hubs, government offices, and popular local eateries. Guests would find it relatively straightforward to access shopping complexes, banks, and other essential services. This central positioning also generally allows for convenient access to public transportation options like taxis and ride-hailing services, making it easy to travel to different parts of Kuantan.
From this location, popular spots such as Pasar Besar Kuantan (Central Market), Taman Esplanade Kuantan (Kuantan Riverfront), and various local food stalls offering authentic Pahang cuisine are typically just a short drive or even a walk away. This makes it a convenient base for exploring the city's urban attractions. If you're planning to visit the famous Teluk Cempedak beach, it would also be a relatively short drive from the hotel.
However, while the location itself offers good accessibility to the city, the practical experience of getting to the hotel's reception has been highlighted as an issue. One review noted having to walk in the rain to check in at another hotel's reception under the same management, indicating a potential inconvenience upon arrival. For us locals, we understand that Kuantan weather can be unpredictable, and smooth check-in processes are highly valued. Despite this operational aspect, the hotel's physical address places it in a highly accessible and central part of Kuantan, which remains a key advantage for exploring the city.

Based on the typical offerings of a hotel and the experiences shared by customers, The V Hotel would likely provide fundamental services expected from accommodation in its category. However, it's important to acknowledge that the execution of these services, as per customer feedback, has been inconsistent and problematic. Generally, a hotel like The V Hotel would aim to offer:
- Reception Services: A front desk for check-in/check-out and guest inquiries. However, a significant concern raised was the absence of a receptionist at the hotel's front desk upon arrival, requiring guests to check-in at another location, which caused inconvenience, especially during bad weather.
- Room Accommodation: Various room types, including standard and family rooms (e.g., a "four-person room" and "twin rooms"), equipped with beds, air conditioning, and a private bathroom.
- Basic Room Amenities: Typically includes a desk, chairs, and possibly a television. However, issues such as ant infestations and non-functional air conditioning have been reported, impacting comfort.
- Housekeeping/Cleaning: Basic cleaning services for rooms. Customer reviews, however, strongly indicate a failure in maintaining cleanliness standards, with reports of damp odors, visible stains on bedsheets and pillows, and persistent ants.
- Wi-Fi Access: Internet connectivity is generally expected. However, a customer reported "Zero wifi - crap connection" and difficulty getting a stable signal even outside the room.
- Assistance with Issues: Hotel staff should provide solutions for guest problems, such as room changes or maintenance. While the hotel did offer a cleaner for pest control and eventually a room change, the process was described as inconvenient and the initial solutions temporary or unsatisfactory.
- Parking: Depending on the hotel's infrastructure, some form of parking facilities or arrangements would typically be offered, though not specifically detailed in the reviews.
The provided customer reviews suggest that while these services might be intended, their delivery and quality have been severely lacking, leading to a "disappointing stay" and "unprofessional service." This indicates a gap between expected and actual service provision at The V Hotel.

Based on the provided customer reviews, identifying positive "features" or "highlights" for The V Hotel becomes challenging due to the overwhelmingly negative feedback. Instead, this section will reflect the critical aspects and reported conditions, serving as important considerations for potential guests.
- Central Kuantan Location: The primary geographical feature is its address on Jalan Haji Abdul Rahman, positioning it in a central and accessible part of Kuantan. This allows for convenience in reaching city amenities and attractions.
- Range of Room Types: The hotel appears to offer various room configurations, including "four-person rooms" and "twin rooms," aiming to cater to different group sizes. However, the condition of these rooms has been critically reviewed.
- Efforts to Resolve Issues (Though Inconvenient): While the overall experience was negative, the hotel staff did attempt to address issues by sending a cleaner for pests and eventually offering a room change. This indicates some level of responsiveness, albeit often after significant inconvenience to the guest.
It's crucial to acknowledge the severe negative highlights reported by a customer:
- Appalling Room Condition and Cleanliness: Recurring issues include ant infestations on desks and bathroom sinks, strong unpleasant damp odors in rooms, and visible black stains (possibly mold or dirt) on bedsheets and pillows.
- Dysfunctional Air Conditioning: Reports of air conditioning leaking and barely functioning, making rooms "unbearable."
- Unreliable or Non-existent Wi-Fi: Guests reported "Zero wifi - crap connection" with extreme difficulty in maintaining any signal.
- Subpar Bathroom Condition: Described as "beaten up" with a glass door that "looks like it’s seen better days."
- Unprofessional and Unhelpful Reception: The front desk was reportedly unmanned upon arrival, and subsequent interactions with reception staff were described as "helpless" and "annoying."
- Grossly Overrated Rating: A strong sentiment that the hotel's online rating (8.2 on Agoda) is highly misleading given the actual conditions and service.
These critical points strongly overshadow any potential positive features, serving as significant warnings for anyone considering The V Hotel for their stay in Kuantan.

For us, the people of Pahang, especially when planning a stay in Kuantan for ourselves, our families, or our beloved out-of-town guests, we prioritize comfort, convenience, and a hassle-free experience. When evaluating a place like The V Hotel, it's essential to consider all available information, particularly the insights shared by other guests from their firsthand experiences.
While The V Hotel benefits from a central location on Jalan Haji Abdul Rahman, offering good access to Kuantan's city center amenities and attractions, this seems to be the primary highlight. Proximity to shopping, local eateries, and key city points is undeniably convenient, allowing for easy exploration of Kuantan for both residents and visitors.
However, based on the comprehensive customer reviews, it appears that the suitability of The V Hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, particularly for locals who expect a certain standard, is significantly hampered by serious concerns. Reports of unstaffed reception, unhygienic room conditions (ants, damp odors, stained linens), malfunctioning air conditioning, and unreliable Wi-Fi point to a challenging guest experience. The frustration expressed over the disparity between online ratings and actual conditions is a strong indicator that the hotel may not meet the expectations for quality and comfort that we typically seek for ourselves or recommend to others.
For locals, word-of-mouth and genuine experiences hold significant weight. When reviews highlight "unprofessional service" and an "incredibly frustrating" overall stay, it signals a need for caution. While the hotel did attempt to rectify issues, the inconvenience caused, especially during late hours or with children, is a major drawback that would likely deter many of us from choosing this option again or recommending it to family and friends.
In conclusion, while The V Hotel's location is undoubtedly convenient for navigating Kuantan, the widespread and critical feedback regarding cleanliness, facilities, and service quality strongly suggests that it may not be suitable for those seeking a comfortable, reliable, and hassle-free accommodation experience. It's important for us in Pahang to be fully aware of these factors when considering The V Hotel, ensuring that our choices align with our expectations for a pleasant stay.

The V Hotel Reviews
Extremely Disappointing StayI booked this hotel based on its 8.2 rating on Agoda, expecting a comfortable and well-maintained stay. However, my experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.Upon arrival, it was drizzling, and to my dismay, there was no receptionist at the hotel's front desk. I had to walk in the rain to check in at the reception of another hotel under the same management. By the time I finally checked in, it was already midnight. Given that I had to wake up at 4:30 AM the next morning for an important trip, I was eager to get some rest—only to find that the room was in appalling condition. The desk was infested with ants, and the bathroom sink was no exception. I had to go back out, once again in the rain, to the reception to request a room change, only to be told that there were no available rooms of the same type. Instead, a cleaner was sent to spray insect repellent, which was only a temporary fix. Shortly after, the air conditioning started leaking and was barely functioning, making the situation even more unbearable. The hotel then offered us two separate twin rooms instead of the four-person room we originally booked. This was extremely inconvenient, as my children had to stay in a separate room while all our clothes and toiletries remained with us. However, given the late hour and our exhaustion, we had no choice but to accept the arrangement. To make matters worse, the two twin rooms were in deplorable condition. The rooms had a strong, unpleasant damp odor, and while the bathroom was barely acceptable, the bedsheets and pillows had visible black stains, possibly mold or dirt. At this point, I was beyond frustrated, but given the time and my children’s exhaustion, we had no choice but to endure one miserable night. The next morning, we left early for the day. Midway, I received a call from the hotel informing me that a four-person room was now available for us to switch into. Since we were out the entire day, we only returned late at night. The hotel staff offered to move our luggage and belongings, which was a small relief. However, we still had to make yet another trip through the rain to collect our new room key.Fortunately, the new room was in significantly better condition—though ants were still present, it was at least an improvement from the previous ones.**Final Verdict:**This hotel is **grossly overrated** and **not worth its 8.2 rating** on Agoda. The service was unprofessional, the cleanliness standards were unacceptable, and the overall experience was incredibly frustrating. I will **never** return, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.
Mar 24, 2025 · Yvonne ChangZero wifi - crap connection. U have to step out of the room n then you get a glimpse of 2 bars b4 it disappears in 2 secs. The reception is not helpful - just acts helpless with an I-dunno permanent face, which is so annoying. Bathroom is beaten up and the glassdoor looks like it’s seen better days. Never coming back ever. You’ve been warned.
Mar 15, 2025 · Brenda FoongTheir customer service here is very bad and the worst i have ever seen in any hotel. Both female staff are so rude and inerudite. They shout and talk harshly towards their own customer. Please check your front desk officer and train them well, dear top management. Your room is also bad and few things were broken & damaged.
