Tok Gindo Campsite

Batu 22 Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Pomsom, Kampung Lepok, 43100 Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia

4.0
I camped 2D1N on 8-9 June 2024 & I was told the campsite was only 1 month old so everything looks neat & clean. The river is just nice for children but maybe not deep enough for adults. There are about 15 lots with 3/4 of the lots are under the trees (lots TG 12 to TG15 have no shade/trees). There are 2 toilets & 2 showers and are clean but there is no wakaf (to pray for those with small tent but I believe that is under their planning to build soon). Plug points are available but do pay attention to the time of availability (9am - 2pm & 7pm - 2 am - powered by generator). One major comment I have for the site is that the lots are covered with 3/4” gravel (batu kasaran) which are rough & sharp for the feet & kinda kills the fun in camping. The gravel should be replaced with smaller size gravel like 1/4” or rough sand.I will come back once the rough gravel is replaced with something friendly to the feet. If you can’t wait to camp do bring thicker ground sheet to protect your tent & thicker mat to place inside your tent to protect your feet.Have fun! - Shamuddin Sulaiman

Tok Gindo Campsite Introduce

Are you a Selangor local looking for a fresh, new spot to reconnect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors? If the idea of a peaceful riverside escape, away from the city's hustle and bustle, sounds appealing, then let us introduce you to Tok Gindo Campsite. Nestled in the verdant heart of Hulu Langat, this newly established campground offers a promising option for families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a serene natural environment right here in our beloved state.

Tok Gindo Campsite is a relatively new player in Selangor’s growing outdoor recreation scene, having opened its gates just recently. This freshness is a significant advantage, as highlighted by a visitor in early June 2024 who noted that "everything looks neat & clean." This immediate impression of cleanliness and good upkeep is crucial for any discerning camper and sets a positive tone for your experience. The focus on providing well-maintained facilities from the outset suggests a commitment to visitor comfort and satisfaction.

What truly makes Tok Gindo Campsite stand out for local families is its direct access to a river that is "just nice for children." While perhaps "not deep enough for adults" to swim vigorously, this gentle river access is perfect for little ones to splash and play safely under supervision, making it an ideal spot for family outings. As Selangor residents, we cherish places that cater to all ages, allowing us to create lasting memories with our loved ones in a natural setting. While there are a few areas for improvement, as with any new venture, Tok Gindo Campsite offers a welcoming and clean environment that holds great potential for becoming a favourite among our local outdoor community. Let's delve deeper into what makes this new riverside gem a place worth exploring for your next Selangor adventure.

Tok Gindo Campsite is located at Batu 22 Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Pomsom, Kampung Lepok, 43100 Hulu Langat, Selangor, Malaysia. This address places it within the picturesque and tranquil district of Hulu Langat, an area highly favoured by Selangor residents for its natural beauty, lush forests, and refreshing rivers. Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Pomsom and Kampung Lepok are areas known for their serene, rural charm, providing a genuine escape from the more urbanised parts of Selangor.

Accessibility to Tok Gindo Campsite is primarily by private vehicle, as is typical for most nature-based retreats in Hulu Langat. From various parts of Selangor, you will embark on a scenic drive along Jalan Hulu Langat. As you approach Batu 22, the roads will become more winding and rural, offering a pleasant transition into the natural environment. While the exact location might require careful attention to local landmarks or navigation app guidance, the general area of Kuala Pomsom is a known destination within Hulu Langat.

The campsite should offer sufficient parking for visitors, though specific details on parking capacity are not provided. Given that most campers will arrive with their own vehicles and gear, ample parking is an essential amenity. Public transport options directly to such a specific rural location are usually limited. Therefore, relying on private cars, or arranging for ride-hailing services for the final leg of the journey from a main bus stop in Hulu Langat town, would be the most practical ways to reach Tok Gindo Campsite. Its placement within Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Pomsom adds to its rustic and authentic charm, offering a truly immersive outdoor experience for those of us in Selangor seeking a peaceful retreat.

As a newly opened campsite (only about one month old at the time of the June 2024 review), Tok Gindo Campsite is focused on providing essential facilities for a comfortable camping experience. Based on the customer review, here’s an overview of the services offered:

Services Offered:

  • Individual Camping Lots: The campsite features approximately 15 designated lots for campers. These lots vary in their offerings, with about "3/4 of the lots are under the trees" providing natural shade, while lots TG 12 to TG15 are "no shade/trees." This variety allows campers to choose based on their preference for sun or shade.
  • Clean Toilets and Showers: A significant highlight mentioned is the availability of "2 toilets & 2 showers" which are noted as "clean." This is a crucial service for any comfortable camping experience, ensuring hygiene and convenience for visitors.
  • Plug Points with Specific Hours: Electrical plug points are available for use, though their availability is limited to specific hours: "9am - 2pm & 7pm - 2 am." These are powered by a generator, indicating a managed approach to electricity provision.
  • Gentle River Access: The campsite offers direct access to a river that is described as "just nice for children," implying a shallow and safe area for young ones to play, making it ideal for family-friendly activities.
  • Future Development (Wakaf): The management is reportedly planning to build a "wakaf" (a small shelter or prayer hut), indicating ongoing improvements and a commitment to enhancing visitor facilities.

While the current services are foundational, the emphasis on cleanliness and planned future developments suggests Tok Gindo Campsite is actively working towards providing a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for its guests in Selangor.

Tok Gindo Campsite, despite being new, already boasts several attractive features and highlights that make it a promising destination for campers in Selangor. The early customer review provides valuable insights into what makes this riverside spot special.

Features / Highlights:

  • Newly Established and Clean: A major highlight is its newness. Being "only 1 month old" at the time of the review, "everything looks neat & clean." This freshness translates into well-maintained facilities and a pristine environment for campers.
  • Family-Friendly River Access: The river adjacent to the campsite is described as "just nice for children" and "maybe not deep enough for adults." This makes it an ideal and safe spot for families with young children to enjoy water activities and play by the riverbank.
  • Varied Camping Lots: With "about 15 lots," the campsite offers variety. The fact that "3/4 of the lots are under the trees" provides natural shade, which is highly desirable in Malaysia's tropical climate, offering cooler and more comfortable camping spots.
  • Clean Shower and Toilet Facilities: The availability of "2 toilets & 2 showers" that are explicitly noted as "clean" is a significant positive. Clean sanitation facilities are paramount for a comfortable camping experience and greatly enhance visitor satisfaction.
  • Generator-Powered Plug Points: The provision of plug points, albeit with specific timings (9 am - 2 pm & 7 am - 2 am), is a modern convenience for campers needing to charge devices or power small appliances. This shows a thoughtful consideration for contemporary camping needs.
  • Serene Natural Environment: Located in Hulu Langat, the campsite benefits from the area's inherent tranquility, lush greenery, and fresh air, offering a perfect escape from the urban environment of Selangor.

While there is a note about the rough gravel on the lots, the overall emphasis on cleanliness, family-friendly river access, and modern conveniences like plug points positions Tok Gindo Campsite as an attractive new option for local campers in Selangor. The planned addition of a 'wakaf' also shows a commitment to continuous improvement.

As a relatively new campsite (only a month old at the time of the review), Tok Gindo Campsite is likely focused on establishing its operations and ensuring visitor satisfaction through its core offerings. Therefore, it may not actively advertise traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the commercial sense, such as discounted rates or package deals.

However, from the perspective of a local camper in Selangor, the "special offers" could be seen in terms of the unique advantages and added value it currently provides:

  • Pristine & Clean Facilities: The fact that "everything looks neat & clean" due to its newness is a significant "offer." For many campers, starting with fresh, well-maintained facilities is far more appealing than a discounted rate at an older, less maintained site. This inherent cleanliness is a strong value proposition.
  • Family-Friendly River Access: The gentle river, "just nice for children," is a unique and valuable feature for families. This natural playground, safe for younger kids, is a significant "offer" for parents looking for a worry-free outdoor experience.
  • Ongoing Improvements: The mention that building a "wakaf" (prayer shelter or gazebo) is "under their planning" indicates a commitment to continuous improvement. While not an immediate promotion, the prospect of enhanced facilities in the near future adds value for returning visitors.
  • Shaded Lots: The availability of "3/4 of the lots under the trees" is a natural "offer" of comfort, providing much-needed shade from the Malaysian sun, which can significantly enhance the camping experience.

Given its nascent stage, the best way to inquire about any potential group rates or future promotional plans would be to directly contact Tok Gindo Campsite via the provided phone numbers. For now, its main "promotion" is the promise of a clean, new, and family-friendly riverside camping experience in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
