---Introduction / Overview
Village River Hill, as its name suggests, is a campground situated by a river, offering a natural setting for outdoor activities. It caters to individuals and families seeking a break from city life, providing a space for day trips, picnics, and overnight camping. Reviews highlight it as a "well-maintained" place that offers a "nice escape from the scorching heat of Malaysia during the summer," suggesting a comfortable environment despite the tropical climate. The emphasis on cleanliness, particularly of the toilets and the general environment, indicates a commitment to guest comfort and hygiene, which is paramount for any outdoor facility.
While some public information links it to "BBQ Lamb KL Kemensah" which also offers river dining, Village River Hill appears to be the dedicated camping or recreational area where guests can set up their own tents or use provided huts. It’s positioned as a private spot that offers a serene atmosphere, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural sounds of flowing water and the surrounding greenery. The appeal lies in its ability to provide a natural retreat that is still relatively close to urban areas.
---Location and Accessibility
Village River Hill is precisely located at Jalan Taman Zooview, Kampung Kemensah, 68000 Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia. This address places it within Kampung Kemensah, an area known for its lush greenery and proximity to natural landscapes, despite being part of the larger Ampang region on the fringes of Kuala Lumpur.
For us, the locals of Selangor, reaching Village River Hill is relatively straightforward. Kampung Kemensah is accessible via major roads like the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) and other arterial roads that connect Ampang to other parts of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Once you turn off into Jalan Taman Zooview, the journey leads you into a more natural, semi-rural setting. This ease of access from urban centers like Kuala Lumpur and other parts of Selangor (e.g., Petaling Jaya, Cheras) is a significant advantage, allowing for spontaneous day trips or convenient weekend getaways without extensive travel time.
The location in Kampung Kemensah implies a tranquil environment, away from the typical city noise and traffic. The presence of a river within the campground is a key draw, offering opportunities for water-based activities or simply enjoying the calming sounds of flowing water. While it provides a sense of being 'away from it all,' it remains close enough to urban conveniences such as petrol stations and food options in the broader Ampang area, ensuring that essentials are never too far away.

Village River Hill Reviews
This place isn’t exactly fancy, but it’s definitely a good one. It’s well-maintained and offers a nice escape from the scorching heat of Malaysia during the summer. The only downside is that the river wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped, with some rubbish along the side. The price for parking and hut is a bit out of proportion.
Jun 04, 2025 · Aizul BensonPrivate place. Yeah kinda expensive but for me worth it. The place clean toilet and environment. The worker clean it regularly. and lucky for us weather is good that time so the river water is clean. Will come again and next time we planning camping for 1 night
Jan 05, 2025 · Mohd FazlanReally good place for first timer.. Can also be a weekend picnic..
Oct 05, 2021 · Alyaa SofyNice and quiet places. recommended for those love nature, back to basic.
Dec 29, 2020 · Rashid Mohd AliIt's quite expensive at RM55 (one hut + one car). If you bring an extra car, he charges RM15. The river is not very good either, there is some garbage. Well, it's not fun 😭 I don't even want to take a picture. But I'll give you a little discount. It's ok.
