4.0
Just a short 1-hour drive away from KL, the nearest landmark to get here is The Waterway Villa or Lotus Life Liberation Park. We were here for a 2D1N camp trip organised by Family Camping Malaysia group which include some farming activities in the itinerary for little ones such as planting, harvesting and rubber tapping experience. The best part is the refreshing dip in the river nearby to beat the heat afterwards! In the morning, you can watch the fog slipping through the hills. At night, you will be sleeping under the blanket of stars amid the live orchestra of crickets, cicadas and even the owl... cooling, quiet and peaceful. The area is spacious you can literally camp anywhere, we chose a spot near the tree houses where all our families can gather for a BBQ dinner in the evening. Toilets are clean with water heater! For those who opt to sleep in-door can also try the cabin rooms in the main house, where more toilets are available. The former rubber tree plantation turned into part eco-farm and part camping farm is fairly new (recently open in Dec 2019), thus the land is pretty much open to the elements (and some dust) and can be quite hot in day time but the tree houses does add a bit of charm to the place once the environment is fully built up. And the hidden gem? On a clear sky be it day or night, you can view the peak of Genting from here. Feel like going out of the radar over the weekend and yet not too far? This is the place to be! But be responsible campers and leave nothing but memories, as they say. - Chui Yee (Cy)
