The location of Big Tree Hotel is a primary factor for anyone considering a stay in Temerloh. Situated at 38, Jalan Chengal 2, Taman Cengal, 28000 Temerloh, Pahang, Malaysia, the hotel is nestled within a local residential and commercial area. Taman Cengal is a known locale within Temerloh, indicating that the hotel is part of an established neighbourhood, rather than a secluded spot.
For us, the locals of Pahang, Jalan Chengal 2 is likely familiar, suggesting that the hotel is relatively easy to find for those accustomed to navigating Temerloh. Its address within a "Taman Cengal" implies it’s in a developed area, potentially offering convenient access to local amenities. Temerloh itself is a pivotal town in Pahang, located along major routes that connect various parts of the state and beyond. This makes the Big Tree Hotel a potentially convenient stopover point for those travelling through the region, whether heading east towards Kuantan or west towards Kuala Lumpur.
Accessibility by car seems straightforward, given its address on a named road within a residential estate. For those relying on public transportation, the availability of taxis or ride-hailing services in Temerloh would be the primary mode of reaching the hotel from bus terminals or other local hubs. While specific details on public transport links directly outside the hotel are not provided, its presence in a developed area usually means reasonable connectivity.
However, it's important for locals to be aware of certain aspects related to the hotel's immediate surroundings. Customer feedback indicates that the hotel faces a back lane, which some guests preferred for quieter nights, away from the main road. Conversely, other reviews highlight potential noise issues from "mat rempit" on the main road in front of the hotel during early morning hours (2-4 am). This suggests that while the location offers convenience, the soundscape, particularly at night, can be a factor for light sleepers. Proximity to amenities like local eateries, convenience stores, and other essential services in Taman Cengal would typically be within a short drive or walk, which is a practical consideration for guests needing basic supplies or food options. The overall location caters to those who need a practical and accessible base within Temerloh.

For us, the residents of Pahang, particularly those in or passing through Temerloh, Big Tree Hotel offers a very practical and suitable accommodation option, especially for short stays or as a convenient stopover. Its suitability for locals stems from several key aspects that align well with our typical needs and expectations for a budget-friendly hotel.
Firstly, its location in Taman Cengal, Temerloh, is an important factor. For those familiar with Temerloh, Jalan Chengal 2 is easily identifiable, making the hotel simple to find whether driving from nearby towns or through the main roads of Temerloh. This ease of access is crucial for locals who might be on a quick business trip, visiting family, or needing a place to rest during a longer journey across Pahang. Being within an established neighbourhood means proximity to local eateries and basic amenities, which is always a plus for convenience.
Secondly, the hotel’s focus on providing clean, compact, and comfortable rooms with essential amenities resonates well with local preferences for practical lodging. Malaysians generally appreciate cleanliness, and the consistent positive feedback on the "clean room" and "clean bathroom" at Big Tree Hotel is a strong selling point. For a price point around RM80+ per night, having a comfortable bed, functional air-conditioning, and even basic toiletries is considered good value. The inclusion of Netflix is a significant bonus, offering modern entertainment that enhances the stay without a hefty price tag. For many of us, these practical comforts are more important than luxurious frills.
While some reviews highlight potential noise issues from the main road and suggest improvements in staff demeanor, the hotel's fundamental offerings — a clean bed, working air-conditioning, and entertainment — provide a solid base for a comfortable night’s sleep. For a one-night stay or a quick stop, these core features are often sufficient. The presence of a lift is also a considerate detail, making it easier for guests with luggage or those who prefer not to climb stairs.
In conclusion, Big Tree Hotel is positioned as a reliable and budget-conscious choice for locals in Pahang. It's not aiming to be a luxury resort, but rather a functional and clean place to rest. May 12, 2025 · Zar Zailan Semuri1. Room was okay, hotel looks new but there’s some toilet smells sometimes in the room. Toilet door’s handle too small - painful to open the door2. Location very not recommended. Both my parents couldn’t sleep the whole night because of “mat rempit” in front of hotel - non stop until around 4am3. Foot stomps sound was heard above the room around 2-4am for more than 30minutes4. Few of the hotel staff (women) shows tight faces - no smile, no greetings even when u’re walking through the door in front of them. I suggest the hotel management to send all the staff for customer service courses. Their faces look so not welcoming & inviting. Only the guy staff was very warm & friendly. In conclusion, i wouldn’t recommend this hotel & will not come back again if i ever had to go to Temerloh next time
May 23, 2025 · Syazana Abdul HalimRoom is clean and spacious. Only lack of amenities like toothbrush/toothpaste. Room freshener smell overpowering. Should have ceiling fan for air circulation or dry the surrounding after cleaning which do not have. And some guest preferred fan. Room near to main room very noisy of passing cars whole night. Perhaps soundsProof window? Bed a bit itchy. Maybe need vacuum service fortnightly ?Overall good for the price. Counter service by Indian lady is helpful and accommodating. Foods availability can call grab. Or hotel can considered have some foods vending machine. Thanks
