Buluh Perindu Campsite (CampBase)

Buluh Perindu Campsite (CampBase, 44000 Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, Malaysia

4.0
Expensive campsite RM60 if go solo. But it is worth it if 2-3 tents ⛺️ together. There is only one bathroom and 3 toilets, but all in dilapidated condition and badly lit at night. No electricity. Solar light only for bathroom and toilet. No rubbish dump. River current is strong and not safe to swim or dip. River bed is rocky and slippery. The area is shady and windy, good for relaxation, and enjoy the river flow. Don't come on weekends if you want quiet and a good nite rest. There is a small waterfall ahead by walking distance 20 minutes but need to pay RM3 entrance fee. The covered platform 🛖 rental is RM80. Hope the owner improves the lighting, bathroom, and toilets if he wants return campers to enjoy this beautiful campsite. - kenny chan

Buluh Perindu Campsite (CampBase) Introduce

For us living in Selangor, the hustle and bustle of city life can sometimes feel overwhelming. When we need a break, our thoughts often turn to nature, especially the lush green landscapes and cool rivers that are just a short drive away. Camping has become a popular weekend activity for many of us, offering a chance to disconnect from gadgets and reconnect with nature. If you're a seasoned camper or someone looking to try a more 'semi-wild' experience, Buluh Perindu Campsite in Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) is a name that often comes up in our local camping circles. It’s a campsite that offers a raw, natural experience by a beautiful river, which is a big part of its charm.

Unlike glamping sites with all the modern luxuries, Buluh Perindu Campsite, also known as CampBase, is a place for those who appreciate the rustic side of camping. It's about pitching your tent under the shade of trees, enjoying the sound of the flowing river, and embracing a more basic way of living for a day or two. As one of the reviews points out, the site is "shady and windy, good for relaxation, and enjoy the river flow." This is a huge plus for campers in our hot climate. The campsite is known for its serene environment, allowing you to relax and enjoy the natural beauty. However, it's important to come prepared for a truly semi-wild experience, as some amenities are still basic. The straightforward approach to camping here is what attracts many local campers who want to escape without a lot of fuss.

It’s a place that's perfect for a weekend trip with friends or a partner. As one camper mentioned, the RM60 per-person fee can be seen as "expensive... if go solo," but becomes "worth it if 2-3 tents together." This highlights its suitability for group camping. It's a great spot to bond with friends, share stories around a campfire (where permitted), and simply enjoy each other's company in a beautiful setting. The site also offers a small sense of adventure, with a nearby waterfall and a strong river current. For locals who are looking for more than just a picnic spot and want a true camping experience, Buluh Perindu Campsite offers the perfect balance of accessibility and wilderness.

Buluh Perindu Campsite (CampBase) is located at 44000 Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor, Malaysia. While the address might seem simple, it's crucial to know how to get there. It’s a "semi-wild" campsite for a reason, and accessing it can be part of the adventure. The reviews state that the road to the campsite is "quite challenging for lowered car" and is about a "2 km from main road to campbase." If you have a regular car, you’ll need to drive slowly and carefully. This unpaved road is something you should prepare for, but it’s what keeps the campsite feeling secluded and less crowded than those right off the main road.

For those who prefer not to drive on the off-road section, some information suggests you can park on the roadside and walk in, which takes about 15-20 minutes. This option adds to the sense of a true outdoor trek. The campsite is a great base for exploring the Kuala Kubu Bharu area. It is near the Sungai Selangor river, known for water rafting activities, and is also a short walk away from a small waterfall. The location is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who want to be close to hiking trails and other natural attractions.

Mobile network coverage at the site is limited, with only Celcom and Digi lines having some signal. This is a key detail for those who need to stay connected. It's a reminder that this is a place to truly disconnect from the digital world and immerse yourself in nature. While the journey might require a bit of extra planning, the destination offers a serene and peaceful retreat that feels far away from the city's noise, even though it's still in Selangor.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

Buluh Perindu Campsite is a great spot for us in Selangor, especially for those of us who have some camping experience and want to escape the city for a raw and authentic nature retreat. While it’s not for everyone, it’s a perfect fit for a specific type of local camper. If you are looking for a place with fully equipped bathrooms, electricity, and paved roads, this might not be the place for you. However, if you are an adventurous soul who enjoys pitching a tent by a river, spending your day listening to the sound of flowing water, and don't mind basic facilities, then this campsite is exactly what you need.

The key takeaway from local reviews is to come prepared. The access road requires a bit of caution for certain cars, and you should bring your own lighting and power banks since there are no plug points. The river's strong current in some areas means you need to be cautious, especially with kids. But for those who embrace these challenges, the rewards are immense. The peaceful atmosphere, shady spots, and the chance to hang hammocks by the river are priceless. It's a place to truly unwind, enjoy the fresh air, and create memorable moments with your friends. For the adventurous and well-prepared local camper, Buluh Perindu Campsite offers an unforgettable experience that is close to home but feels a world away.
