Coliv @ Damai Residence Reviews
I had an amazing experience staying at Coliv @ Damai Residence! It’s absolutely perfect for digital nomads who plan to stay for a while and want a super convenient location. You’re right in the center of KL, close to cafes, groceries, public transport, and everything else you could possibly need. The people here are friendly and welcoming, and the management team is professional and always ready to help. The atmosphere is chill but productive, great for getting work done and meeting like-minded people.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located place to stay in Kuala Lumpur!
Apr 20, 2025 · Ali MaasherThankfully, I only stayed at coliv for 3 months. While I personally wouldn't stay again, I don't think it's the worst option for those who are lucky with their room placements or new to KL.Pros: Two of the managers Diyana & Afnan were amazing, always helpful and super nice, even outside of work hours. The guards (especially the day guard) were super nice. Great location: grocery store, malls, different services, 25-min walk to KLCC. Co-working spaces and rooftop were amazing. But the best part was the wonderful people I met - some of the kindest and funniest ever.Cons: Some of the most inconsiderate people I've ever met were at coliv as well. The noise was really bad. Plus, it's like the walls and floors were made out of paper. Bruh, I’m saying this as someone who never had any sleep issues and has worked at overnight summer camps with screaming elementary school kids and rowdy teenagers where I had no problem sleeping. But I slept so poorly at coliv!! First, I was on the 18th floor right under the chill room (misleading name lah), and people were smashing chairs and screaming until 4-5am. Management did enforce quiet hours. I moved to the 17th floor after a month and could still hear them through an entire floor!! Sleep deprivation gave me really bad brain fog, ruined my skin so bad, and affected my schedule. This was actually lowkey breach of contract because we specifically signed a contract when moving in agreeing to quiet hours in the building, so we expect that those would be upheld (the contract is between management and tenant, not tenant to tenant, so it is the management's responsibility to deal with noise complaints).Laundry machines RIPed my clothes!! By the 3rd month, I had 8 pieces of clothes completely ripped and countless others stretched out beyond wear. I know for a fact it happened to many other tenants, they just didn't say anything. There wasn't even an apology from the management because they said the machines are not theirs so they couldn't apologize. Then, this is misleading advertisement on the part of coliv because when something is presented as laundry machines (on the website, in the contract), it is reasonable for a person to assume that the machines would function properly and not rip clothes (especially on a regular basis).Floors are dirty af. It seems like they are never mopped. Even though we are responsible for cleaning our own rooms, it seems like the floors are not washed between tenants, maybe just swept. Same for the floors in the apartments' common areas. You can walk one time, look at your feet and they would be black from the collection of all the disgusting dirt from who knows what century. Like, literally black. And finally, there is mold in this building and it’s in different units!! Just because one can’t see physical mold in some rooms or bathrooms, doesn’t mean that it’s not there if it is present and visible in their flatmate’s rooms or their neighbours’ apartments, it could even be inside AC units. Now mix sleep deprivation with mold exposure… and you will find yourself going to the doctor… in your ripped clothes… with your dirty black socks on…
Feb 07, 2025 · Lena ShulyakovskayaI rented room type E. Very spacious, with a great view.Blackout curtains, quite, but any room near the top-floor (common area) will not experience the same.Upon booking I realised its not a short-term rental. They only provide the bare minimum, not even bedding, pillow, or towels. The common areas were clean, but the shared areas (ie kitchen) per floor had only minimal efforts put into it.The place is mostly filled with students, it was fun. Unfortunately there were absolutely no events, as advertised.I enjoyed my stay, the location, and the people I met. However, I will warn any management reading this that efforts will need to be put into listening to tenants before its too late. The quality of the property will only last so long, and after that you will be left with reputation.
Nov 13, 2024 · dislexableI stayed at CoLiv for 3 months in 2023. I’m a digital nomad (working remotely) and really appreciated the building having everything I needed: two offices with kitchens, an outdoor gym (it has a full squat rack!) and indoor gym (cardio and AC), and the cinema room and rooftop spaces. The location is very conveniently located next to a bus stop and 2-5 mins walk from a large supermarket and great doctors’ surgery.I met two lifelong friends here, who I’ve seen in different locations since. This is priceless!Overall, this is a fab place, but there are a few areas for improvement. Firstly, the room window is single glazed and the door is thin (room C). I slept really poorly due to being right next to a school and mosque (the school noise was worse than the mosque noise, as it was at 7am or earlier with singing and speeches non-stop). Second, some long-term residents were quite territorial over the office space, turning it into their personal space in the evening, making it impossible to work on a different timezone. There was an incident with one resident who was quite aggressive, and I later found out he’d recently been moved out of a flat due to having disagreements with another resident. In a co-living environment, I would expect residents like this to be promptly removed or at least cautioned and given a three-strike system.Thirdly, and this isn’t necessarily a downside, but when I stayed the building was probably 60%-70% occupied by French exchange students who socialised almost exclusively together. This limited social options a bit as a nomad, but will of course be great if you are looking to make friends with other exchange students.
Mar 05, 2025 · Katie TreharneI stayed here 3 years here from 2020/11 to 2023/11 and it was really good experience for me.The co-working space was clean and nice, I met lots of people from various countries, and went to many places with housemates. I stayed in 2 different places at the first year I came to Malaysia but it was so boring but after moving to Cocoon, I had a very good time.Thank you very much to the management team and all housemates.
