Welcome, fellow Terengganu residents and island enthusiasts, to an important update regarding D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant, a once-popular lodging and dining establishment located on the beautiful Pulau Perhentian Kecil. For many of us who have explored our state's stunning islands, D'Lagoon might conjure memories of serene beaches and vibrant marine life. However, based on recent public information and customer reviews, it is crucial to inform our local community that D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant is now permanently closed. The land has been sold, and while its future use is yet to be determined, its former charm as an "oasis of tranquility" is now part of the island's history. Our aim here is to provide a clear, factual, and informative overview of what D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant *was* and why it *was* a suitable place for locals, acknowledging its current status.
D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant, prior to its closure, was known for offering a unique lodging experience on Pulau Perhentian Kecil. It catered to a wide range of visitors, from couples seeking a peaceful retreat to families and groups looking for an immersive island adventure, often integrated with diving activities. As locals, we understand the allure of finding places on our islands that provide a blend of comfort, natural beauty, and engaging activities. D'Lagoon aimed to deliver this, providing various accommodation types and a full-service restaurant amidst its idyllic setting. While it is no longer operational, understanding its past offerings can provide context for the kind of developments that contribute to the appeal of Pulau Perhentian Kecil.
D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant was ideally situated on Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Besut, Terengganu, Malaysia. More specifically, it was located at Teluk Kerma, on the northern side of Pulau Perhentian Kecil. This location offered a peaceful and quiet environment, away from the more bustling areas like Long Beach, yet still providing access to the island's natural beauty. For local users in Terengganu, Pulau Perhentian Kecil is a well-known and cherished island destination, accessible via a speedboat ride from the Kuala Besut jetty. The specific location of D'Lagoon at Teluk Kerma was praised for its "unspoilt tropical island with uncrowded white sandy beaches sloping gently to coral reefs." Accessing D'Lagoon typically involved either a boat transfer directly to its secluded beach or a walk through the rainforest from other parts of the island, making it a spot for those who appreciated a more adventurous approach to their island getaway. This relative seclusion contributed to its reputation as a "peaceful and quiet environment," making it suitable for locals seeking genuine tranquility away from crowded tourist spots. The journey there was part of the experience, immersing visitors in the island's natural landscape right from the start.
Before its permanent closure, D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant offered a comprehensive range of services and facilities, making it a popular choice for various types of visitors. D'Lagoon Chalet & Restaurant Reviews
This wonderful place, an oasis of tranquility in the Perhentians, is permanently closed. The land has been sold, and *something* will be built here in the future.
Jun 21, 2025 · TNTPerfect urbex spot on tropical island.Acces by boat or walk thru the rainforest.
Jun 22, 2025 · Piotr NowakowskiWelcome to paradise. Seriously, thank you to all the staff (owner, cookers, waiters, cleaners...). We really appreciated all you're doing everyday for the tourists. The place is great and you can easily access to others very quiet beaches and have a walk in the jungle. Also perfect for snorkelling just here at D'lagoon. The food is various and taste good ! You should definitely try the pancake. We're not used to this kind of bathroom but for a few days that's fine and we get use to it.I hope that the staff AND the tourists will do their best to keep this place as a paradise (well consuming water and electricity, reduce garbage (do we need plastic straw?), sensibilisés to protect the nature (do not walk on the corals )).We will definitely come back one day !
Aug 03, 2024 · DavidThe location : 10/10Probably the best location to stay in Perhentian islands (small beach which only one hotel, you can walk to an other beach where you will run into only a few people, best snorkeling spot if I compare with the ones I saw during the snorkeling tour)Cleanliness of accommodation : 0/10- the floor of the room was full of hairs when I arrived. There even was used dental floss on the floor. Plus, the floor should be cleaned because it is all brown if you put a wet tissue on it.- not sure that the showers/toilets are ever cleaned (it looks like only the garbage is emptied)(- no moskito net)Communication : 0/10- it is quite painfull to book because the owner takes sometines several days to answer- the owner doesn't care to inform you if there is a change in the tour you booked with him- the version of the owner is not the same than the boat company (about the return to Kuala Besut)- it could be nice if the owner looks kind (I even don't ask to be kind, but at least to look kind !)- a employee took my backpack (I didn't ask any help) and, rather to put it in the boat, he standed next the boat with all the bottom of my backpack in the see... until I saw it ! So, everything in the bottom was wet ! Did he apologize ? No. Did the owner apologize when I said I have stuffs inside my backpack that can not be wet ? No.Restaurant : 9/10- not the best dishes that you will eat in Malaysia but it is cheap for a small island.Snorkeling tour booked with the hotel : 0/10I don't understand why it is called snorkeling tour if you go to places where there is nothing to see (no corall (or only dead corall), almost no fishs). The only animal that you can maybe see during the tour and not in front of the hotel is turtel (but there was only one big turtel with 4 boats encircling the animal and with 20-30 people on it, so what's the point...)
Aug 18, 2024 · AL Y.We saw the google reviews and there were fantastic, but once we arrived we realised personally that it was more that we expected. The personal treatment was really close and we felt comfortable to ask anything because they were opened to help us always. we want to make a special mencion to both brothers the food is incredible and the taxi boat also and we have enjoyed a lot the snorkeling activity. We will come back again, thank you for all, gràcies per tot.
