In this article, we'll guide you through what makes Kebun Ayah a noteworthy destination. We'll provide essential details on its location and how to navigate there, outline the services and facilities available, highlight its unique features, and provide contact information. We aim to equip you with all the necessary information to plan a smooth and enjoyable camping trip to Kebun Ayah, helping you make the most of Pahang's natural wonders.
Kebun Ayah is located in the scenic district of Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia, with its address simply listed as 28700 Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia. While a direct street address might seem broad, the campsite is situated in a natural, somewhat secluded area, which contributes to its appeal as a serene escape. However, navigating to Kebun Ayah requires a bit of local knowledge and careful attention to directions, as public reviews indicate it can be "tricky."
The camp owner provides specific guidance, including a video and a map, to assist campers in finding the exact location. This personalized approach to directions is crucial for reaching the campsite smoothly. A highly recommended method, as shared by a past customer, is to initially Waze "Mentari Akar Camp." This is because Mentari Akar Camp is located near the road that leads to Kebun Ayah, and this initial part of the route is more reliably recognized by navigation apps. Once you reach the vicinity of Mentari Akar Camp, you should then switch to following the video and map provided by the Kebun Ayah owner to cover the final stretch of the journey.
Accessing the campsite is generally easier if you approach it from the Bentong toll exit. This suggests that the main access roads are well-connected to the highway network, making it convenient for visitors coming from various parts of Pahang or even other states. However, the last leg of the journey might involve less-trafficked roads, which is why the owner’s specific video and map instructions become indispensable.
It's important to note that the secluded nature of the campsite means mobile line coverage might not be optimal in the immediate area. This is a common characteristic of beautiful, remote natural spots. Therefore, downloading offline maps or ensuring you have all the owner's directions saved before losing signal is a good practice. Despite the initial navigation challenge, the effort is often rewarded with the peaceful and beautiful natural setting that Kebun Ayah offers.
Kebun Ayah, as a rustic campsite focused on providing a natural outdoor experience, offers essential services and facilities to ensure a comfortable stay, albeit with some aspects requiring a short walk. Based on customer reviews, the services offered include:
- Campsite Pitches: The primary service is providing designated areas for pitching tents, allowing visitors to set up their own camping equipment and enjoy an overnight stay amidst nature.
- River Access: A significant highlight and service is direct access to a beautiful and clear river. This allows for various water activities like wading, swimming, and simply relaxing by the riverside.
- Proximity to Waterfall: The campsite's location near a waterfall enhances the natural experience, offering scenic views and the soothing sound of cascading water, which can be enjoyed from nearby spots.
- Toilet Facilities: Essential for any campsite, toilets are available for campers. It's noted that these facilities might require a bit of walking from where tents are pitched, which is typical for campsites designed to preserve the natural setting of individual pitches.
- Other Facilities: While not explicitly detailed, the mention of "other facilities available" suggests basic amenities beyond just toilets, potentially including wash-up areas or communal spaces, though these would likely be minimal to maintain the natural environment.
- Electricity (with charge): For those who need to power devices, electricity is available, though it comes with an additional charge of RM15. This is a convenient option for modern campers who might need to charge phones, lights, or other small appliances.
- Starlink Internet Access (with charge): Recognizing that mobile line coverage can be poor in natural areas, Kebun Ayah offers access to Starlink satellite internet. This service, available for a charge, is a significant convenience for campers who need to stay connected for emergencies, work, or leisure.
Kebun Ayah offers several distinctive features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as a nature retreat in Bentong, Pahang:
- Beautiful and Clear River: The most prominent highlight is the presence of a "beautiful and clear river" directly accessible from the campsite. This feature is ideal for water activities such as swimming, wading, and simply enjoying the refreshing natural water, making it perfect for families and those who love riverside relaxation.
- Proximity to a Waterfall: The campsite is situated "near to the water fall," which enhances the scenic beauty and provides the calming sounds of nature. This adds an extra dimension to the natural experience and potentially offers opportunities for exploration and photography.
- Suitability for Kids (with supervision): The river's characteristics make it "suitable for kids," indicating relatively safe and enjoyable conditions for children to play in the water, provided there is constant "adult supervision" due to the proximity to the waterfall. This makes Kebun Ayah a family-friendly camping destination.
- Friendly and Accommodating Camp Owner: Positive reviews consistently highlight the "friendly and accommodating" nature of the camp owner. This personal touch and helpfulness (e.g., providing video directions, offering Starlink) significantly enhance the overall camping experience, making visitors feel welcome and cared for.
- Availability of Starlink Internet: In an area where mobile line coverage is "not so good," the provision of Starlink satellite internet (for a charge) is a major highlight. This modern amenity ensures that campers can stay connected if needed, offering convenience and peace of mind without compromising the natural setting.
- Electricity Access: The option for electricity (with a charge) is another practical highlight, catering to the needs of campers who require power for their devices, adding a layer of comfort to the rustic camping experience.
- Secluded Natural Environment: The slight difficulty in direction (necessitating a video and map) indirectly points to its secluded nature. This ensures a peaceful and immersive experience away from crowds and urban noise, which is highly sought after by true nature enthusiasts.
As a private campsite offering a natural outdoor experience, Kebun Ayah does not typically advertise traditional "promotions or special offers" like discounts or bundled packages in the way a commercial business might. Its "offer" is primarily the unique natural experience and the amenities it provides. However, any "special offers" would likely be communicated directly by the camp owner or through their informal channels.
Possible informal "offers" or value-adds that campsites like Kebun Ayah might extend, though not guaranteed to be consistently available, could include:
- Personalized Directions and Assistance: The provision of a "video and map" for directions and the camp owner being described as "friendly and accommodating" can be seen as an informal "offer" of exceptional customer service, which greatly enhances the arrival experience, especially given the tricky navigation.
- Flexibility with Bookings: Given the nature of private campsites, some owners might offer flexibility with booking dates (within reason and availability) or accommodate specific requests, particularly for loyal customers or larger groups. This level of personalized service can be a significant "offer."
- Community Building: While not a direct "promotion," the very act of camping fosters community. Kebun Ayah provides the space for friends and families to bond, and for campers to connect with fellow nature lovers. This informal "offer" of social connection is invaluable.
- Access to Unique Natural Features: The "beautiful and clear river" and proximity to a "waterfall" are natural "offers" that are intrinsic to the location, providing recreational and aesthetic value at no extra charge beyond the camping fee.
For any specific inquiries about booking, potential group rates, or any unique arrangements, it is highly recommended to contact Kebun Ayah directly using the provided phone number. Any "special offers" that might arise, such as off-peak season rates or group discounts, would most likely be communicated directly by the owner.

Kebun Ayah Reviews
Direction to the campsite- can be tricky but camp owner gave us video and map. It’s easier if you enter from Bentong toll. What I did is I Waze ‘Mentari Akar Camp’ because it’s near to the road heading to the campsite and the road still can be seen in Waze.Once reached Mentari Akar Camp, we switch to the video given by the camp owner. Just follow the video and you will reach there. The river was beautiful and clear. Suitable for kids but must have adults supervision because it’s near to the water fall.Electricity available but with RM15 charges. The line is not so good there so we use the camp’s starlink with some charges.Toilet & other facilities available but need to walk a bit from where we pitch our tent.Overall it was a pleasant experience although it was running everyday. Camp owner was friendly and accommodating.Personally I enjoyed myself. The kids too.
Jan 05, 2025 · Wagner DanielRude owner who overcharges and extorts your parking fee.We were shouted at, accused of lying and then charged extra for “inconvenienced parking” to his property.-When we arrived, the entrance of the parking area (right side of the road) was blocked with a locked chain. We called the phone number (labelled Andre) on the signage which stated RM10 parking.-The call couldn’t go through as there was no line in the area.- We parked right outside of the parking site, by the side of the road making sure we do not block the road and the entrance that was chained and locked.-When we returned from our hike, a car was parked at the entrance with the chain now unlocked. No note or anyone around.-As we were reversing out of the space, another car had arrived and asked if they could take our space as they could not enter the parking with the parked car blocking the entrance.-We then heard someone shouting from further up, across the road “WOI! TAK NAK BAYAR PARKING KE?”-Figured it was the PIC and I approached him to pay at which he immediately accused us (in front of the other car as well) of trespassing his private property. Our car was not even inside his parking lot, just by the side of the road.-I explained that we had tried to call the number and he quickly accused me of lying saying his worker did not receive a call. Showed him the call log and once he saw he continued his accusation that we are trying to leave without paying.-I told him I was there to pay now as I did not know the parking across the road belongs to this garden (which we did not see anyone inside or any sign with instruction to pay here when we passed by on foot twice. The gates were also closed to outsiders to enter).-He saw the RM10 and then demanded for RM20. I mentioned the signage states RM10 and he then claims “It is for your inconvenienced parking”.-The owner has no right to charge us as we did not only park outside of his property but we mindfully did not even obstruct the entrance (which is how he is able to still park his car at the entrance, to conveniently block us) or the road.Make your own judgement if a place and owner like this deserve your money. No line, yet they expect guests to call with no other instructions on who to pay to. There was no reason to be rude, charging people for "inconvenience" and no apologies given. For parking to Lata Hammer, there are parking spots just before the bridge, by the river. Slightly longer walk but I wouldn’t bother camping or parking at a place run by rude and cheating owners like this.
Jun 09, 2025 · celinetayMy second time here and it's still very beautiful and clean. The river water is always so refreshing. Our host (the father of the caretaker) is just so kind and soft spoken, greeted us with such warm welcome and friendly manner. Thanks again for the memorable camp weekend. Recommended for those who enjoy a nice river side camp + hike into Lata Hammer for an amazing swim in the pool. Please all bring your garbage home with you, do our part, protect our mother nature and love her as she provides such beautiful place for us to visit and enjoy.
Jun 20, 2023 · Marcus DamnPro:- Campsite is clean- The stream is enjoyable for an adult- Firepit is available- washroom and sink for cleaning is available- Accessible by standard vehicles- Guarded by land owner's gardener- 1 hour easy walk to Lata HammerCons:- Too many flies and mosquito.- Stray dogs (I'm ok, maybe others not)- Most of the washroom cannot be locked- No coverage to most of general telco (I'm ok)- The garbage deposit maybe a bit steep at RM100 (refundable)
Oct 06, 2020 · AngkesanSuper rude owner. And overcharges people. There is no reason for you to be rude. Even parking the car there can become a problem. Suggest to park somewhere else if you're going to Lata Hammer
