Edited to add: Most of the positive reviews here are fake. Lowering from 2 star to 1 star because of this. You can see the photos and talking points are not fron a genuine customer.The service was far below the price range expectations. The reception counter was usually not attended and when staff come out from the back office they appeared disinterested to serve us and did the bare minimum and leaving us to find our own way to the room.They unexpectedly required deposits for bath towels, which was a shock since the towels were ordinary towels and not particularly luxurious or large beach towels. Worse, deposits for the towels (as well as motorcycle rentals) could only be done in cash, which we barely had enough for since the booking advised that the hotel accepted cards and QR payment.The hotel is generally very poorly maintained with a lack of attention to detail on landscaping and basic maintenance and refurbishment of the rooms. Chairs outside the rooms are deteriorated and broken. The toilet and rooms are decades outdated in decor and appliances. It is basically a 1 star hotel charging 3-4 star prices.There is also a lack of basic information provided to guests to find their way around the island and we had to ask around at other restaurants to get information about activities and beaches available.Coupled with the many flights of stairs to get to the rooms, I think there are better options at better value on the island, and this hotel should get a major renovation and a change in attitude to stay competitive.

It was good experience but some things needs to improve.1. Should have small Refrigerator/fridge in room because family with kids need to keep food for baby and toodler. Everytime not easy to come down to keep things in their kitchen's fridge. Their kitchen closed after 9-10pm and open at 7-8am.2. MUST provide umbrella's during rain. When we were leaving for jetty, my husband ask for umbrella, as I had 8 months old baby along with 4 years old child but they doesn't provide. Due to heavy rain I slipped badly from their Stairs and badly injured while holding baby.3. Food is super expensive in their restaurant, you can find many options outside but less expensive. Even outside they will deliver free of cost.4. for basic things, can find many shops. Children, vegetables, rice, soap even Razor.5.wifi has not good signals. Better to purchase extra gbs to get in touch.6.Road from Hotel to beach is badly broken, Walking is difficult even, to ride a scooty is a challenge. Distance to beach is almost 1 km.We got scooter 1st day, full day rm 60. It has no petrol and then we request to add some petrol. For second day, we get the other scooter, and it was in much better condition but again less fuel but without scooter, its difficult to raom around.7. It has super long stairs, like a batu Cave.Also no canopy. We use towels to come down during rain.There should be Canopy on looong stairs8. There is no room cleaning service, if we get a family room, there should be any broom for cleaning because kids make a lots of mess.9. Make sure before planning this trip because for everything, you need to pay alot of hidden charges. When start booking, it will be showing that you only book for hotel room and jetty but later you have to buy other tickets also like Marine Park tax and tickets. Snokerly package. 6/5/4 points of beaches trip. Food.etc.You can contact them, they will arrange shuttle service from jetty to hotel because distance is almost 3km, walk is not possible and they also help to send luggage in resort room.Luckily TOWELS and Toiletries they provide in resort now.Parking is available at TTI ( taman Tamadun Islam) near jetty. Per day rm 15.Also keep in mind that they use Lorry if you are wet, come back from beech with them and even some time pick up from Jetty also they use Lorry.

Overall pretty good, but they could upgrade some of their facilities. For instance, the shower was really old and a little bit broken and the mirror in the bathroom was really dirty and old too. Just fixing these things would upgrade the room a lot more.But the staff was really friendly. They also have a restaurant and made very nice roti canai. Just don't leave any food on the balcony, as the monkeys would get it.

My stay at Rendang de Rimba exceeded my expectations. While they are basic rooms, the serenity and kindness of the people here is what truly stood out. Get away from the tourist crowds by immersing yourself in the local village. I was picked up by the hotel shuttle at Jeti Pulau Rendang - just make sure you let them know when you are arriving. Otherwise it is a 3km walk surrounded by lush rainforest and you may even see monkeys!The restaurant at the hotel offers delicious Malaysian dishes that are cooked fresh to order. Do not expect any western food. There is also hot water and ice available in the reception area.Unfortunately The Taaras are not willing to share their beach with others, but the crystal blue public beach (Turtle Beach) is a 15min walk away. Alternatively you can hire a scooter for the day to get around. The hotel offers snorkelling trips and also charter to long beach (when it is open) which you can pay by card.Wifi is free. Rooms have split systems and warm shower. Would recommend if you want an authentic experience on Rendang Island and to enjoy some peace and quiet.
