Consistent Quality of Wild River Fish: Their primary "promotion" is the consistent availability and freshness of their wild river fish, particularly Patin and Tengkalan. For connoisseurs of these local delicacies, knowing they can reliably get fresh, well-prepared fish is the biggest draw and a continuous "special offer."
Generous Portions as Value: The generous portion sizes serve as a de facto promotion, providing excellent value for money. For families and groups, this means more food for a reasonable price, effectively reducing the per-person cost.
Set Menus for Groups/Families (Potential): While not explicitly stated in reviews, many Chinese restaurants offer set menus designed for different group sizes (e.g., for 4, 6, or 8 people) that can provide a more economical way to sample a variety of dishes. It's worth inquiring if they have such options.
Daily/Seasonal Specials on Fish: Depending on the catch of the day, they might offer specific types or sizes of wild river fish that are particularly fresh or limited, which can be seen as a daily special for discerning customers.
Word-of-Mouth Endorsement: For local businesses, strong word-of-mouth recommendations driven by consistent quality and good service act as the most powerful and enduring "promotion."

Restaurant Tokyo Reviews
Restaurant Tokyo is an established local restaurant popular with those seeking out wild river fish meal. We used to ate very fresh & nicely steamed wild river fish like patin & tengkalan in many previous visits. However in our most recent visit, we didn’t order fish but just three simple dishes for dinner - sweet & sour pork, hot plate taufu, and dried buttermilk prawns. The dishes were just average at best. The cooking quality standard has deteriorated probably due to change in chef as the sweet & sour pork was lousy - pork was not marinated, the sauce was bland. Regular dishes like these should be consistent. The dried buttermilk prawns was also a let down though it looks pretty good, the buttermilk taste was actually bland & the prawns though fresh have some aftertaste like it was washed with some alkaline water ….Waiting time is longer than usual. Prices are above average for Jerantut but portion are generous.I hope the fresh wild river fish remains good in future visits, otherwise no more going back …. 🤔
