Rimbakali Camping Site Introduce
Welcome to Rimbakali Camping Site, an intriguing and somewhat rustic escape nestled in the lush surroundings of Genting Highlands, Selangor. For those in Selangor seeking a refreshing break from city life and a chance to reconnect with nature, Rimbakali offers a unique opportunity. Originally a fruit orchard, this site has been thoughtfully converted into a picnic area and campsite, providing a back-to-basics outdoor experience. It’s a place where the simplicity of nature takes centre stage, inviting families and friends to create memorable moments amidst the serene sounds of a flowing river and the fresh, crisp air that Genting Highlands is known for.
As locals in Selangor, we often seek out places that offer a genuine escape without demanding too much fuss. Rimbakali Camping Site fits this description perfectly for those who appreciate a less commercialized and more natural outdoor setting. It's a place where the focus is on the environment itself – the wide river, the fruit trees, and the opportunity to simply be present in nature. While it embraces a more rustic approach to amenities, this can be part of its charm for campers who value authenticity and are prepared for a straightforward outdoor adventure. It truly offers a chance to disconnect from urban distractions and immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of Selangor's highlands.
User experiences highlight both the raw appeal and the practical considerations of Rimbakali. One visitor described it as a "Good place to spend time with your families," appreciating the conversion of a fruit orchard into a "picnic area and campsite." They noted the "river next to the area are quite wide" and highlighted the varying river current and depth. Another camper provided a more detailed perspective, praising the "nice" river but offering a constructive critique on the facilities. They mentioned "very limited even ground to set up your tents," with some areas being "on slopes and or muddy." The provision of "2 showers and 1 toilet" was noted as potentially insufficient for busy periods, with river water being pumped for the washrooms and a query raised about septic management. The generator-provided electricity until 1 AM was also mentioned, along with the need for personal lighting after dark and the presence of ants. Despite these points, the overall sentiment points to a unique natural setting that, with potential improvements, could enhance its appeal even further for the adventurous Selangor camper.
Rimbakali Camping Site is situated at Rimba Kali, JALAN, 48200 Genting Highlands, Selangor, Malaysia. Its location within the broader Genting Highlands area places it amidst cooler temperatures and lush greenery, providing a refreshing escape from the warmer lowlands of Selangor. While the address specifies "JALAN" without a more precise street name, it implies it's located along a specific route leading into the Rimba Kali area, known to locals or easily found with GPS navigation to the mentioned coordinates.
Accessibility to Rimbakali would primarily be via private vehicle, as is common for many natural camping sites in more secluded areas. Genting Highlands itself is well-connected by major highways from various parts of Selangor, including Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. Once off the main highways leading up to Genting, visitors would follow local roads towards the Rimba Kali area. Given its rustic nature, the final approach to the campsite might involve less-maintained roads, which is typical for such natural retreats. Visitors should ensure their vehicles are suitable for rural roads. Parking would likely be on-site or in designated areas, commensurate with a simple, back-to-nature campsite. While not directly serviced by extensive public transport, its setting in the popular Genting Highlands region makes it a desirable and reachable destination for Selangor residents seeking an outdoor adventure.
Rimbakali Camping Site focuses on providing a basic, nature-centric camping and picnic experience, reflecting its "no-frills" approach. Based on available information, the services offered cater to fundamental outdoor needs rather than extensive amenities:
- Campsite Access: Provision of space for campers to pitch their tents. It's noted that level ground might be limited, with some areas being on slopes or muddy.
- Picnic Area Usage: Designated areas for day-use visitors who wish to enjoy a picnic amidst nature.
- River Access: The site offers access to a river adjacent to the camping area, suitable for water activities, though visitors are cautioned about the varying current and depth.
- Basic Washroom Facilities: Public toilets are available next door at the Rosyabillah chalet, which are shared. Additionally, the campsite operator provides 2 showers and 1 toilet within the camping area itself, though their condition and sufficiency for large groups are noted as areas for improvement. River water is pumped for these facilities.
- Electricity Supply: Electricity is provided via a generator, available until 1:00 AM. Campers are advised to bring their own lighting for use after this time, especially for washroom trips.
- Security/Supervision: While not explicitly detailed, the presence of an operator and staff suggests some level of supervision for the site.
- Waste Management: Basic provisions for waste disposal would be expected, though campers are typically encouraged to practice a "leave no trace" philosophy.
Rimbakali Camping Site offers several unique features and highlights that appeal to those seeking a natural and rustic outdoor experience, particularly for locals in Selangor:
- Converted Fruit Orchard Setting: One of its most distinctive features is its transformation from a fruit orchard into a recreational area. This offers a unique, natural environment distinct from conventional campsites, potentially with fruit trees adding to the ambiance.
- Riverside Location: The presence of a wide river adjacent to the campsite is a major highlight, providing opportunities for water-based activities and offering a serene backdrop with the sounds of flowing water. This is a significant draw for families and nature lovers.
- Back-to-Basics Camping Experience: For campers who prefer a less commercialized and more rugged outdoor adventure, Rimbakali offers a genuine, "no-frills" experience, focusing on connecting with nature directly.
- Scenic Views: Being in Genting Highlands, the site benefits from the area's natural beauty, potentially offering refreshing air and pleasant green surroundings perfect for relaxation and photography.
- Affordable Entrance and Campsite Fees: The relatively low entrance fee of RM2 per person and a campsite fee of RM20 (though other reviews mention RM75 per tent, suggesting variations or different packages) make it a potentially budget-friendly option for families and groups looking for an outdoor getaway.
- Ideal for Family Time: As noted by a reviewer, it's a "Good place to spend time with your families," offering ample space for children to play and for families to bond in a natural setting.
- Generator-Provided Electricity: The availability of electricity until 1 AM, while limited, is a convenience for charging devices or powering lights during the initial hours of darkness.
As a somewhat rustic and community-oriented camping site, Rimbakali Camping Site may not run frequent, extensive commercial promotions in the way a hotel or large resort would. Their primary "offer" is the direct access to a natural camping and picnic experience at competitive rates. However, based on the nature of such establishments, potential "promotions" or value-adds could implicitly include:
- Competitive Pricing: The stated entrance fee of RM2 per person and campsite fee of RM20 (though other reviews note RM75 per tent, suggesting variations or different packages) positions it as a more affordable option compared to highly developed campsites, especially for budget-conscious campers. This pricing itself acts as a form of value promotion.
- Seasonal Access to Fruit Orchard: While not explicitly advertised as a promotion, during certain seasons, visitors might have the added benefit of being in a fruit orchard, which could potentially offer glimpses of local fruit cultivation, adding to the unique experience.
- Group Discounts: For larger groups or school outings, there might be possibilities for negotiated rates, though this would require direct inquiry with the operator.
- Long-Stay Discounts: For campers wishing to stay for an extended period, it's worth inquiring if any reduced rates are offered for longer durations.
- Package Deals (Potential): While not currently evident, the operator might in the future consider simple packages that include basic rental equipment (e.g., tents, sleeping bags) for an all-inclusive price, catering to new campers.
Given its "no-frills" approach, any specific promotions are likely communicated directly on-site or upon inquiry. The main draw remains the experience of connecting with nature at an accessible price point. It's always best to contact Rimbakali Camping Site directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about any current rates, packages, or specific terms for groups.

Rimbakali Camping Site, nestled in the natural embrace of Genting Highlands, Selangor, offers a uniquely suitable outdoor escape for local residents. Its appeal lies in its back-to-basics approach to camping, its natural setting, and its potential as an accessible getaway for families and individuals seeking a genuine connection with nature without venturing too far from home. While it presents a more rustic experience, this very aspect makes it an ideal choice for specific segments of the Selangor population.
Firstly, its location in Genting Highlands provides a refreshing change of scenery and climate from the bustling urban areas of Selangor. The cooler temperatures and lush environment offer a welcome respite, making it an attractive destination for a quick weekend getaway. For locals, the drive to Genting Highlands is familiar and relatively short, making Rimbakali a convenient option for an impromptu nature retreat. This accessibility is a key factor for busy urban dwellers looking to de-stress and unwind amidst greenery.
Secondly, Rimbakali’s transformation from a fruit orchard into a campsite, complete with a natural river, offers a distinct and authentic outdoor experience. It's a place where families can enjoy picnics by the river, children can explore the natural surroundings, and everyone can simply breathe in the fresh air. For those who appreciate raw nature and are prepared for a less refined camping experience, Rimbakali delivers. The opportunity to set up tents, gather with loved ones, and immerse oneself in the sounds and sights of the natural world is a significant draw. While reviews suggest areas for improvement in facilities, this can be managed by campers who prioritize the natural setting over luxurious amenities, and who are willing to bring their own supplementary items like lighting and insect repellent.
Finally, the relatively affordable entrance and campsite fees position Rimbakali as a budget-friendly option for outdoor adventures. This makes it accessible to a broader range of locals who may not wish to spend a fortune on a getaway but still desire a meaningful nature experience. It provides a simple yet effective setting for family bonding, personal reflection, and the enjoyment of Selangor’s natural landscapes. For the adventurous, self-sufficient camper in Selangor, Rimbakali Camping Site offers a perfectly suitable, refreshing, and authentic escape into the heart of nature.

Rimbakali Camping Site Reviews
A fruit orchard which has been converted to picnic area and campsite. Entrance fee is RM2 per person and charged RM20 for campsite. No facilities are available on the area but there are public toilet next door, located at the Rosyabillah chalet. The river next to the area are quite wide but the river current can be quite fast at times. The depth of the river are uneven. Good place to spend time with your families
Oct 04, 2021 · H RThe river is rather nice however giving the rating entirely based on my subjective perspective as a Camper. With very limited even ground to set up your tents, most of the other areas are on slopes and or muddy. Our group had to set up our tents on the slope. The levelled ground next to the stream is rather muddy. The operator provides 2 showers and 1 toilet, not enough for most weekends or holidays I would say. But the biggest let down is most probably the state of these washrooms. River water is being pumped which wouldn't harm but I am unsure on how they manage the septics though. Overall, with a charge of RM75 for a tent and RM2 per head in addition, I would expect the facility and surrounding areas to be better managed.Electricity is provided up to 0100 by a generator. And you'd be better off to bring your own lights should you need to use the washrooms post dark.In comparison, other campsites charge you around the same price or even less but provide better maintained facility to guests.Ants is another issue therefore please bring your aerosols with you. At the end of our stay we've spoken to the operator and hope they improve in the future.
