As a traditional surau in a kampung setting, Surau Darul Aminin Kampung Tali Air provides fundamental religious and community services tailored for its local Muslim congregants. While smaller in scale than a large mosque, its functions are integral to daily Islamic life in the area.
- Daily Congregational Prayers (Solat Berjemaah): The primary function is to provide a dedicated, clean, and peaceful space for the local community to perform the five daily obligatory prayers in congregation, strengthening communal bonds and spiritual discipline.
- Religious Classes and Study Circles (Kuliah/Tadarus): Suraus often organize informal religious classes, particularly after certain prayers (e.g., Maghrib or Isyak), covering topics like Quranic recitation (Tadarus Al-Quran), basic Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), and Hadith. These sessions cater to various age groups, promoting continuous religious education.
- Ramadan Activities: During the holy month of Ramadan, the surau would be a central point for nightly Tarawih prayers, and potentially communal iftar (breaking of fast) gatherings, fostering a vibrant spirit of unity and devotion.
- Eid Prayers (Solat Aidilfitri & Aidiladha): While Friday prayers (Jumaat) are typically held at a larger mosque (masjid), many suraus, depending on local regulations and capacity, may host Eid prayers, providing a closer venue for festive worship. Otherwise, locals would proceed to the nearest designated mosque.
- Funeral Prayers (Solat Jenazah): Providing a space for the prayer over the deceased, offering crucial support and comfort to grieving families within the community.
- Community Social Events: Suraus frequently serve as venues for various social gatherings, such as kenduri (communal feasts), Aqiqah ceremonies, or other informal community meetings that foster neighbourly relations and mutual support.
- Collection of Voluntary Contributions (Infaq/Sadaqah): The surau often facilitates the collection of voluntary donations from the community to support its upkeep, religious programs, and local welfare initiatives for those in need.

Surau Darul Aminin Kampung Tali Air Reviews
Quaint neighbourhood surau. Toilet is a little dark though.
Aug 27, 2017 · Emelda JamelClean pray area, also for the toilet.
Nov 24, 2023 · Mohd Taufik TahwanThis surau is very stable in terms of infrastructure. There are 2 stars not because of the condition of the shrine or the facilities here. In terms of infrastructure and facilities, Alhamdulillah 5 stars. What do you want to share about the attitude of the congregation and parishioners of this surau which is the best when we pray and attend lectures. I have been attending lectures at this surau for 3 years, but the congregation here, especially the men, are not environmentally friendly. Do not celebrate people who come to pray or attend lectures from other parishes. When there is a feast, don't invite the congregation to the same, it's easy to tell the story on your own. For us outsiders, if we are not invited, it is of course embarrassing and wrong to participate even though our stomachs are hungry and our throats are thirsty. If there are many more stories that are not good, this is enough. So you guys, if you just stop by for prayer, it's okay if there's a feast, don't be invited. Don't be shy and don't be polite even if you are invited.
