Trail Head to Batu Bertenggek Waterfall Introduce
For those of us living in Selangor, the desire to escape the urban landscape and immerse ourselves in the cool embrace of nature is a familiar yearning. When the concrete structures and constant buzz of city life feel overwhelming, there's nothing quite like a refreshing hike to clear the mind and invigorate the spirit. And if your ideal adventure culminates in the awe-inspiring sight and sound of cascading water, then the Trail Head to Batu Bertenggek Waterfall in Kerling, Selangor, is a destination you absolutely must explore. This hidden gem, while gaining popularity through word-of-mouth and online discoveries, offers a unique blend of accessibility and challenge, making it a fantastic choice for a wide range of local hikers.
Batu Bertenggek Waterfall isn't just another waterfall; it's a picturesque natural wonder that offers a truly rewarding experience. As one visitor eloquently put it, the waterfalls are "picturesque with the biggest one leaving me in awe!" What makes this hiking area particularly appealing is its dual nature: an initially "easy trek" that gradually transitions into a more "steep and slippery" descent to the main waterfall. This progression means it caters to various fitness levels, from those seeking a leisurely nature walk to "fit beginners" looking for a good exercise challenge. Moreover, the promise of "many beautiful butterflies" along the way and the "stunning" waterfalls and river provide ample motivation and visual rewards throughout the journey. It's a place where the serenity of nature can truly be felt, offering a perfect escape for a few hours or even a full day of natural exploration, right here in our own Selangor backyard.
The Trail Head to Batu Bertenggek Waterfall is conveniently located at 22a, Jalan Berlian 4b2, Taman Lembah Damai, 44100 Kerling, Selangor, Malaysia. This places it within the Hulu Selangor district, an area well-known to Selangor locals for its rich natural beauty, including hot springs and various outdoor activity spots. Kerling itself offers a refreshing change of scenery from the more bustling parts of Selangor, providing a genuine sense of being away from it all while remaining relatively accessible.
Access to the trail head is primarily by road. From various parts of Selangor, visitors would typically take major highways leading towards Kuala Kubu Bharu or Kerling. Once in the vicinity, using Google Maps or Waze to navigate to the provided address is the most effective way to reach the starting point. It's worth noting, as highlighted by a review, that the specific address is often close to "Jalan Kolam Air Panas," which can also serve as a useful navigation point. Parking is generally available along the road near the trailhead. However, as one visitor mentioned, "many people" frequent the spot, especially on weekends, so arriving early (e.g., around 8 AM) is advisable to secure a good parking spot and avoid crowds. While direct public transportation might not lead straight to the trailhead, Selangor locals can consider taking a bus to a nearby town like Kuala Kubu Bharu or Kerling, and then utilize ride-sharing services or local taxis for the final short distance. However, self-driving or carpooling remains the most practical and flexible option for most visitors bringing hiking gear and supplies.
The Trail Head to Batu Bertenggek Waterfall offers a focused natural experience, meaning it provides essential elements for hiking and enjoying a waterfall rather than extensive commercial services. Based on user reviews and the nature of such outdoor attractions, the primary "services offered" at this hiking area would include:

- Informal Parking: While not a designated, large car park, there are areas along the road near the trailhead where visitors can park their vehicles.
It's important for visitors to note that while the natural beauty is abundant, traditional facilities like changing rooms or extensive public toilets might be minimal or absent, as suggested by reviews mentioning having to change at a nearby mosque. Hikers should come prepared with their own water, snacks, and any necessary personal items, embracing the rustic nature of the experience.

Trail Head to Batu Bertenggek Waterfall Reviews
We decided to go to Batu Bertenggek waterfall after watching a YouTube video on it, which mentioned that the hike there is for beginner's level. Initially the trek was easy, with some elevation in different places. The challenge was the trail down to the waterfall. I think only fit beginner's may find the trail easy. For beginners who are unfit or with some form of mobility issue, I think they might want to consider. The trail down to the waterfalls was the biggest challenge- it was steep and slippery in many places. Even though I saw many in their sandals I do feel good hiking shoes are a must. We arrived at around 8ish but there were already many people there which was not surprising since it was a weekend. The waterfalls were picturesque with the biggest one leaving me in awe! Was it worth it? I thought it was. Would I come again? I might if I am in for some really good exercise. All in all it was a good experience. Alhamdulillah.
Jun 15, 2025 · Ann Deni ARIf you’re looking for a peaceful nature escape, this hidden gem is perfect. The track is easy, making it great for all ages, and along the way, you’ll be greeted by many beautiful butterflies. The waterfalls and river are stunning, offering a refreshing and scenic spot to relax. Best of all, the park is free to enter and not crowded, so you can fully enjoy the serenity of nature. A perfect getaway for a relaxing hike!
May 07, 2025 · Indah WahyuniA beautiful waterfall that no pics or video can justify its beauty.Way bigger than what is visible through screens. The track can be challenging for beginners for non hikers , but , it a moderate track for most active people.Keep an eye on the signs on the trails signs. Dont be shy to ask the locals incase you feel you are lost. Parking is difficult hence be mindfull where you park. Hidden gem, worth the visit on a weekday.
Apr 08, 2025 · Vmthird time been here. still a nice place to visit. but please bring back your rubbish. don’t simply leave it there as if there is alam flora to collect the rubbish, you rubbish. jangan jadi monyet bandar masuk hutan ya
May 22, 2025 · Muhd FirdausTrail:The trail is very easy and consists of unpaved gravel paths. Certain areas have small streams, so it’s a bit wet but not slippery due to the gravel. There are signs pointing to the waterfall along the trail, so be sure to keep an eye on them. It takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour to reach the base or last checkpoint. The last 100 feet of the trail is steep, at about 40 to 50 degrees, making it somewhat challenging but still hikeable.Upon arriving, there’s a spacious area where you can camp out, located in front of a calm stream. The waterfall is situated at the back of this area, about 100 meters away. You can venture to the Batu Bertenggek waterfall via the rocky trail, but be sure to check the weather forecast first. If there’s a sign of rain, it’s absolutely not-advisable to go there firstly due sudden kepala air and the limited evacuation zone.Parking:Parking is free and located near the junction of the first checkpoint. Make sure to come early, as it gets fully occupied on weekends.Overall:The view is amazing and highly recommended for beginner hikers
