Arokaya House Introduce
In the vibrant and often demanding rhythm of Kuala Lumpur life, finding a dedicated space for relaxation and therapeutic relief is a priority for many local residents. For those in Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur seeking to unwind, alleviate muscle tension, or simply indulge in a moment of self-care, Arokaya House presents itself as a noteworthy option. Located within The Mall, Arokaya House aims to provide a range of traditional massage services, offering a much-needed respite from the urban hustle. This article will offer a detailed look into Arokaya House, highlighting its offerings, accessibility, and what makes it a suitable choice for locals.
Arokaya House positions itself as a centre for traditional massage, providing a variety of treatments designed to promote physical and mental well-being. The name "Arokaya" itself resonates with concepts of health and freedom from disease, suggesting a holistic approach to wellness. In a city where daily commutes and busy work schedules can lead to considerable stress and fatigue, professional massage services play a crucial role in maintaining overall health. Arokaya House strives to meet this demand by offering therapeutic sessions tailored to alleviate common discomforts.
Customer experiences with Arokaya House reveal that the quality of the massage can be highly dependent on the individual masseuse. Patrons have highlighted instances of exceptional talent, such as with a masseuse named Som, who is noted for her "intense pressure" and ability to target "painful areas." This variability is common in service-oriented businesses and emphasizes the importance of finding a therapist that aligns with individual needs. Despite some mixed experiences regarding consistency and minor operational aspects, the overall sentiment points towards a place capable of delivering powerful and beneficial massage therapy when the right match is made. Its objective is to provide a space where locals can find effective relief and relaxation, making it a relevant option in Kuala Lumpur's wellness landscape.
Arokaya House is situated at The Mall, 5-21, fifth floor, Jalan Putra, Chow Kit, 50300 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its location within "The Mall" is a significant landmark, though finding the exact spot within the multi-level shopping complex may require some navigation. As per customer feedback, visitors should "keep going up to the top level at the mall" to eventually locate it.
Jalan Putra, where The Mall is located, is a major thoroughfare in Kuala Lumpur's Chow Kit area, known for its bustling atmosphere and historical significance. This area is exceptionally well-connected by public transportation, making Arokaya House highly accessible for residents across the Federal Territory. The PWTC LRT station (Pusat Dagangan Dunia LRT station) is directly connected to The Mall (now known as Sunway Putra Mall, which underwent a rebranding and renovation from "The Mall"). This direct link provides a seamless travel experience for those using the LRT system. Additionally, the Putra KTM Komuter station is also in close proximity, offering another convenient rail option for commuters. Numerous bus routes also ply along Jalan Putra, further enhancing the accessibility of the location.
For those driving, The Mall typically provides ample parking facilities, which is a considerable advantage in a dense urban area like Kuala Lumpur. The central location in Chow Kit means Arokaya House is easily reachable from various districts, making it a practical choice for a spontaneous or planned massage session after work or during a weekend outing. While locating the specific floor and unit might require a brief search within the mall, the overall ease of reaching The Mall itself contributes significantly to its accessibility.
Arokaya House offers a range of traditional massage and body care services designed to promote relaxation and alleviate physical discomfort. Based on customer reviews, the following services are available:
- Thai Massage: A traditional therapeutic massage that may be performed on a table, sometimes with oil and while partially clothed, focusing on deep pressure and tension release.
- Oil Massage (Aromatherapy Massage): This involves the use of massage oils, likely incorporating aromatherapy for enhanced relaxation and skin benefits. Customers can expect a full body experience with this treatment.
- Body Scrub: A service focused on exfoliating and revitalizing the skin. Customer experience indicates a thorough scrub that covers both front and back.
- Add-on Services (e.g., Balm): While one customer found the "balm" add-on unnecessary, the option to enhance treatments with additional elements is available.
- Post-Massage Shower Facility: Customers appreciate the availability of shower facilities after their massage or body scrub, allowing them to feel refreshed and clean.
- Customizable Pressure: Clients have the ability to request adjustments in pressure from their masseuse, ensuring the massage intensity meets their comfort and needs.
The focus is on providing therapeutic bodywork, with a combination of traditional techniques and an emphasis on personal comfort during the session.
Arokaya House, despite some varied customer experiences, boasts several notable features and highlights that can make it a suitable choice for locals seeking massage therapy in Kuala Lumpur.
- Skilled Therapists (Individual-Dependent): A significant highlight is the presence of highly talented masseuses, with one customer specifically praising "Som" for her "very talented" skills, "intense pressure," and ability to effectively target "painful areas" through techniques like "elbow work." This indicates that, when the right masseuse is assigned, clients can experience exceptional therapeutic results.
- Effective Body Scrubs: The body scrub service is highlighted as "great," with therapists ensuring they "get into every area front and back." This suggests a thorough and satisfying exfoliating treatment.
- Reasonable Pricing: Customers note the pricing to be "reasonable," with a 90-minute session costing around $40 USD (approximately RM 180-190 based on current exchange rates) and 120 minutes around $55 USD (approximately RM 250-260). These prices are competitive for professional massage services in Kuala Lumpur, offering good value for the duration of the treatments.
- Post-Massage Shower Facility: The availability of showers after a massage or scrub is a valued feature, allowing clients to refresh themselves before leaving, enhancing the overall experience.
- Flexible Session Duration: The option for an "extra 30 minutes" during a session, as mentioned by a reviewer, indicates a degree of flexibility to extend the treatment based on client needs and satisfaction.
- Central Location with Mall Accessibility: Being on the fifth floor of The Mall (Sunway Putra Mall) on Jalan Putra means it is highly accessible via public transport (LRT, KTM) and offers parking facilities. While finding the exact spot within the mall might be a minor challenge, the ease of reaching the mall itself is a major convenience.
While consistency in masseuse performance and certain operational aspects (like providing shorts or addressing feedback on cleanliness) have been noted as areas for improvement, the potential for a truly amazing and therapeutic massage experience, particularly with specific skilled therapists and at reasonable prices, remains a strong drawing point for Arokaya House.

Arokaya House Reviews
This place is mostly great! It really depends which masseuse you get. Finding it is a bit challenging, but you keep going up to the top level at the mall you will find it eventually.I went for my first massage with a woman named Som who was very talented. I had a Thai massage, but it was on a table and more like an oil massage while partially clothed (it makes about as much sense as it sounds like, meaning not very). She made it work though, and had intense pressure. I enjoyed the elbow work on my back, but it left it sore for a few days so maybe I should have asked her to throttle back a bit. 😆I came back again two days later, and Som wasn't available, so I had an oil massage and body scrub with a woman who's named started with a "P". She was a bit stern and frowned at me when I asked for her to massage my abdomen. She was OK, but didn't get into the painful areas I asked her to. Also during this massage there was an old women nearby who, I kid you not, burped every 30 seconds for 20 minutes and it was pretty disgusting to listen to. 🤢 Go take some Gas-X please and don't disturb the customers. So the second massage wasn't a great experience. For my third massage, I made sure Som was working and went for a 30 minute body scrub and a 60 minute oil massage. The body scrub was great, they get into every area front and back. I took a shower, then moved to a different room for the oil massage. Som was absolutely fearless and massaged every area I asked her to, including an area I didn't ask for but was a delightful surprise. They don't offer "extra services" here as far as I know (I wasn't offered any), but during my massage Som asked if I wanted an extra 30 minutes and I said yes as she was absolutely amazing at getting into my painful areas. The price is reasonable at about $40 USD (for 90 minutes) to $55 USD for (for 120 minutes). I wouldn't bother with the "balm" add on, and they are OK with you having a shower after the massage which I appreciate. If I'm ever in Kuala Lumpur again, I'll absolutely come back here and ask for Som again!
Jun 15, 2025 · Thomas V.AVOID THIS PLACEWent there one day for a back massage. They didn’t provide shorts (only a shirt) for during the massage. Which should be fine if it hadn’t been that the massage table / sheets were oily which 1) questions if they clean them sufficiently (no oil used during my massage) and 2) it left me with dirty shorts. After trying to wash out the oil myself I went back to inform them of this issue. They ‘had to discuss it with their boss’ but would come back to me and took my contact details. I didn’t hear anything from them for five days so went back myself to check again. I was shown the door with the statement ‘the boss is very busy’ while it literally takes a minute to come up with a way to rectify this. So, they make me run around - while they messed up - and they don’t take any responsibility whatsoever.
Apr 12, 2025 · Stef Van EysendeykArokaya Spa offers a truly pleasant experience that's worth every penny. Although modest and small in size, the ambiance is soothing and perfect for relaxation.Ms. Yaw, the masseuse, is highly skilled and experienced, making the massage session both rejuvenating and enjoyable. she tailored the session to my needs. Despite its size, the quality of the service shines through. Definitely a place I’d come back to for another session. Highly recommended for those seeking quick spa treatment at great value!
Oct 23, 2024 · Salwa Mohd SalehNot recommended. Paid for 1 hour massage but only get 30 mins. When asked if finish since she started to wipe the oil off, she nodded. Told the masseuse i paid for 1 hour she said talk to the receptionist because her english is bad. The whole argument is 15 minutes already back and forth because lack of english fluency. I feel like the masseuse understood what i said just as well but she kept on asking me to speak to another person so she can stop the session. Feels very scammy. Dont ever come here please. The masseuse is the one circled in the photo.
May 05, 2025 · Fatin NasirWe can recommend this place. It is in the 5th level of a mall. The prices are really good for the massages and the quality of masseuses more than fine 🙂 We had both a food reflexology massage and enjoyed it a lot. Very detoxing for my body afterwards! Drink enough water so the body can get maximum out of it.
