Four Eight Restaurant Introduce
For many residents in Selangor, the quest for authentic, flavourful Chinese cuisine is an ongoing culinary adventure. While countless Chinese restaurants dot our vibrant state, finding one that truly stands out, especially with unique regional specialities, is a delightful discovery. Nestled in the heart of Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya, Four Eight Restaurant is one such gem. It’s not just another Chinese eatery; it’s a destination that promises to transport your taste buds to a different part of Malaysia, offering a unique and memorable dining experience right here in Selangor.
Four Eight Restaurant has quickly become a talking point among those in the know, particularly for its dedication to bringing specific regional Chinese delicacies to the Petaling Jaya scene. As highlighted by a discerning customer, this is "the only place where I've found Hee Kiaw, a Malacca local dish. Taste like the one I have back in hometown." This glowing review speaks volumes about the authenticity and quality of their offerings, particularly for a dish that holds such cultural significance and is often hard to find outside its origin city. This focus on specific, hard-to-find dishes from Malacca sets Four Eight Restaurant apart from more generic Chinese eateries. It suggests a commitment to preserving and sharing culinary heritage, making it a must-visit for those craving genuine flavours and a taste of nostalgia. Beyond its celebrated signature dishes, the restaurant also provides a comfortable setting, including the pleasant option to "sit outdoors in the evening," adding to its appeal as a relaxing dining spot.
Conveniently located in the bustling commercial hub of Damansara Perdana, Four Eight Restaurant is easily accessible for residents across Petaling Jaya and wider Selangor. You can find this authentic Chinese eatery at:
Address: Ground Floor, 22A, Jalan PJU 8/5c, Damansara Perdana, 47820 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Here’s how locals can comfortably reach Four Eight Restaurant:
By Car: Damansara Perdana is very well-connected by major expressways, including the LDP (Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong), SPRINT Highway, and the Penchala Link. Driving to Four Eight Restaurant is the most common and convenient method for most people. Jalan PJU 8/5c is easily identifiable using navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps. While parking can sometimes be a challenge in busy commercial areas, there are usually street parking spots or designated parking lots within the vicinity of Plaza Emerald, where the restaurant is located. Arriving slightly before peak dining hours might help secure a good spot.
By Public Transport: Although Damansara Perdana does not have a direct MRT or LRT station within immediate walking distance, the Mutiara Damansara MRT Station (on the Kajang Line) is relatively close. From Mutiara Damansara, you can opt for a short ride via a ride-hailing service such as Grab or a local taxi to reach Four Eight Restaurant efficiently. Several local bus routes also serve the Damansara Perdana area; checking public transport apps for the most current routes and stops would be advisable for bus users.
Four Eight Restaurant offers a range of services designed to provide a comfortable and satisfying dining experience for its patrons. As a Chinese restaurant specialising in authentic dishes, its primary focus is on culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.
Dine-in Service: Enjoy your meal in their comfortable indoor dining area or take advantage of their pleasant outdoor seating, especially enjoyable in the evening.
Takeaway (Tapau) Service: For those who prefer to enjoy their authentic Chinese dishes in the comfort of their home or office, takeaway options are readily available.
Catering Services (Inquire Directly): Popular Chinese restaurants often offer catering for events, family gatherings, or office functions. It would be worthwhile to inquire directly with the restaurant regarding their catering capabilities for larger orders.

Four Eight Restaurant distinguishes itself through several unique features and culinary highlights that make it a compelling choice for Chinese food lovers in Selangor:
Authentic Malacca Local Dish - Hee Kiaw: This is a standout feature. As highlighted by a customer, finding authentic Hee Kiaw, a traditional Malaccan dish (often a type of fish dumpling soup or noodle dish), is rare. Four Eight Restaurant offers this speciality, prepared with a taste that genuinely "taste like the one I have back in hometown." This alone makes it a unique culinary destination.
Specialisation in Regional Chinese Cuisine: The focus on a specific Malaccan dish suggests a dedication to regional Chinese cuisine, offering a more nuanced and traditional flavour profile compared to generic Chinese restaurants.
Pleasant Outdoor Seating: The option to "sit outdoors in the evening" provides a comfortable and relaxing ambiance, perfect for enjoying a meal away from the indoor bustle, especially in Selangor's pleasant evening weather.
Emphasis on Authentic Taste: The review's mention of the Hee Kiaw tasting like the "hometown" version indicates a strong commitment to authentic flavours and traditional preparation methods, appealing to those seeking genuine tastes.
Diverse Chinese Menu (Implied): While Hee Kiaw is a highlight, a full-fledged Chinese restaurant like Four Eight would undoubtedly offer a wide array of other popular Chinese dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone, from stir-fries to soups and rice dishes.
As a local Chinese restaurant, Four Eight Restaurant might offer various promotions or special deals to attract customers and encourage repeat visits. While specific ongoing promotions are best confirmed directly with the restaurant, here are common types of offers you might encounter:

Four Eight Restaurant Reviews
I came here for the Hee Kiaw only. Others I've yet to try. This is the only place where I've found Hee Kiaw, a Malacca local dish. Taste like the one I have back in hometown.
May 09, 2025 · Kenny LeeIt's quite nice to sit outdoors in the evening.
Apr 05, 2025 · Dhennver NgClaypot chicken rice, like curry mee, has divided opinion among fans. Some prefer the one in Choong Kee (Damansara Jaya), some vouched for Heun Kee (Pudu) while others have their favourite claypot chicken rice stalls everywhere. I'd tried Heun Kee, I'd tried Choong Kee as well and while I think that both were quite good.. some might not share the same sentiment. My picky whisky and makan kaki, Kelvin, invited me for dinner with him and his wife one day when I came back from outstation trip. He said that it was the best claypot chicken rice he'd tasted so far so I was intrigued. I drove to Black & White Cafe @ Damansara Perdana, braving the traffic jam just to be a spotlight.. lol! True enough it was one of the best I had so far.. when I shared my finding with a local Kampar boy (he'd tasted almost all claypot chicken rice there is), he was surprised that I knew about this little known stall. He told me that he is a regular and he found the taste was as close as the ones in Kampar. Then the stall moved further down the road, taking up a spot in Four Eight Restaurant (8888) and I found myself there one evening. Taking up tables by road side (alfresco style) as the weather was cooling after the rain, I quickly placed the order - the boss was friendly enough to pose for me when I was taking picture of his stall.◾A portion of the chicken rice is priced at RM8.50 - of course I requested extra egg (RM1) so that I could mix the egg together with the rice (smoother) that was topped with tender chicken meat, waxed sausage before poured with the mixture of soy and dark sauce. I almost forgot the awesome mui heong ham yue (salted fish) - stuff of good quality. Anyone here love the rice crack at the bottom of the Claypot? I digged deep to finish all the remainings in the 4 claypot that we ate.◾Satay - we ordered chicken, pork and even lamb.. forgettable as it was practically tasteless and too dry. I had tough then chewing...I've to say this again.. while I like the Claypot chicken rice here and think that it's one of the best around, don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself ok? I'm just sharing my finding...
Nov 22, 2019 · Boon Loong LeoFinally found Melaka fish noodle but missing fish ball and char Siew.
Mar 22, 2025 · XtineI came here a couple of times because I liked the Char Kuey Teow, Hor Fun & their Iced Cham. However, on several occasions I noticed that some stalls are not systematic in keeping track of their orders resulting in them going around asking what people have ordered again.Today, which is understandably a public holiday and at peak lunch hour - it was busy. However, I was there before peak and still my CKT took 1 hour after 2 reminders.I wasn't particularly in a rush, but when I reminded him it took 1 hour for him - he laughed it off and said it didn't 🫠Perhaps this kopitiam needs table numbers or some token (plastic cups) so that the hawkers remember who ordered what 🫠Apart from that, I think its fine.
