As residents of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, we often find ourselves needing temporary accommodation, whether for visiting relatives, quick stopovers, or perhaps just a change of scenery within our vibrant city. When searching for a hotel, factors like location, price, and most importantly, comfort and cleanliness, play a crucial role in our decision-making. Today, we delve into an overview of KL Guest Hotel, located in Taman Keramat Permai, to help fellow locals understand what previous guests have experienced, based on publicly available reviews. Our aim is to provide factual and informative insights, allowing you to make an informed choice that suits your specific needs.
KL Guest Hotel, situated in a residential area of Kuala Lumpur, aims to provide lodging options. However, recent feedback from guests offers a critical perspective on the quality of stay. It's important for local users to be aware of these experiences to manage expectations if considering this establishment. While hotels typically strive to offer a comfortable and welcoming environment, the experiences shared by guests for KL Guest Hotel suggest that certain fundamental aspects of hospitality may not consistently meet standard expectations. This comprehensive look will guide you through various elements of the hotel, from its location to the reported state of its facilities and services.
For those living in or around Kuala Lumpur, convenience and reliability are often key. Hotels are generally expected to offer a seamless check-in process, clean rooms, and functional amenities. However, in the case of KL Guest Hotel, past guest comments raise concerns in these very areas. Understanding these potential challenges beforehand can help prevent unwelcome surprises and ensure that your chosen accommodation aligns with your requirements for comfort and service. This article is structured to provide an objective account of what guests have reported, allowing you to weigh these points against your own preferences and priorities when selecting a place to stay in Kuala Kuala Lumpur.
The shared experiences paint a picture that deviates significantly from what one might typically anticipate from a lodging establishment. Aspects such as hygiene, functionality of basic amenities, and responsiveness of staff are critical pillars of a satisfactory hotel stay. By detailing the feedback received, this overview seeks to offer a clear and engaging perspective on KL Guest Hotel, empowering local users in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur with the knowledge necessary to make an appropriate lodging decision.
KL Guest Hotel is located at 8, Jalan AU 1a/4c, Taman Keramat Permai, 54200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This address places the hotel within the Taman Keramat area, a residential and suburban part of Kuala Lumpur. For locals familiar with the city's geography, Taman Keramat Permai is situated north-east of the city centre, offering a different vibe compared to the bustling commercial districts.
The accessibility of the hotel depends largely on your mode of transport. For those relying on private vehicles, Jalan AU 1a/4c can be accessed via major roads in the Taman Keramat vicinity. While not directly on a major highway, the area connects to arterial roads that lead to the AKLEH (Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway) and DUKE Highway (Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway), offering routes to various parts of Kuala Lumpur and beyond. Parking availability is not specified in the provided reviews, but as it's in a residential area, on-street parking or limited hotel parking might be options, though this would need to be confirmed directly with the hotel.
For those utilizing public transportation, Taman Keramat is served by the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. The nearest LRT station would likely be Dato' Keramat LRT Station or Jelatek LRT Station, from which one would typically need to take a short taxi or ride-sharing service to reach the specific address on Jalan AU 1a/4c. This offers a connection to Kuala Lumpur's central business districts, shopping malls, and tourist attractions, albeit with an additional transfer from the station to the hotel itself.
The location in Taman Keramat Permai provides a more local, neighborhood experience compared to staying in the city centre. Guests might find local eateries, convenience stores, and possibly small shops within walking distance, offering a glimpse into daily life in a Kuala Lumpur suburb. However, direct access to major tourist attractions or business hubs might require reliance on ride-sharing or public transport connections, factoring in travel time.
Based on the feedback from real customers, the services and provisions at KL Guest Hotel appear to fall short of typical guest expectations. While hotels generally aim to offer a range of services to ensure a comfortable stay, the reviews highlight several significant shortcomings in key areas:
- Reception and Check-in Process: Guests have reported a concerning lack of proper reception service upon arrival. One review explicitly states, "After arrival, no receptionist to assist," and details previous issues where booking information was allegedly not found in the system ("booking tak ada dalam sistem. Happened twice"). This suggests a potentially unreliable and unassisted check-in experience, which can be particularly stressful for arriving guests.
- Room Cleanliness and Hygiene: This is a major point of concern. Guests found rooms "full of dust," bed sheets "unhygiene, full of dust," and pillow sheets "marked with yellowish stains on it." This indicates a severe lack of proper cleaning protocols, which is fundamental to any lodging service.
- Washroom Condition and Water Supply: The washroom was described as "unhygiene." Furthermore, issues with water supply were noted: "The water level from the shower and tap bowl are inconsistent," which can significantly impact guest comfort and basic hygiene routines.
- Towel Provision: Guests were "provided with the brown 'torn towels.'" This points to a lack of quality control and provision of unsuitable, worn-out amenities, detracting from the overall guest experience.
- Key Provision: A practical issue raised was the lack of sufficient room keys: "Should provide additional key rooms i.e. depends on number of guest." For groups or families, having only one key can be highly inconvenient.
- Corridor Environment: Beyond the rooms, the general building environment also received negative feedback, with reports of a "Very unpleasant smell along the corridor in level 3," indicating poor maintenance of common areas.
- Booking Reliability: The repeated instances of "booking tak ada dalam sistem" highlight significant issues with booking management, potentially leading to guests arriving without a confirmed reservation, despite having made one.
These reported issues suggest that basic services related to cleanliness, functional amenities, and reliable customer service at the front desk may not be consistently met, which is crucial information for potential guests.
Given the nature of the provided customer reviews, it is challenging to present traditional "highlights" in a positive light, as the feedback predominantly points to significant areas of concern. Instead, we will list the reported features and characteristics of the stay as experienced by guests, which are more accurately described as areas requiring substantial improvement:
- Reported Unpleasant Odors: A specific feature highlighted by guests is the presence of a "Very unpleasant smell along the corridor in level 3," indicating a potential issue with building maintenance or ventilation that affects the common areas.
- Substandard Room Cleanliness: Rooms were found to be "full of dust," with "unhygiene" and "dusty" bed sheets, and "yellowish stains" on pillow sheets. These are recurring observations regarding the hygiene and maintenance standards within the guest rooms.
- Unhygienic Washroom Conditions: The washroom facilities were described as "unhygiene," which is a critical concern for any accommodation.
- Inconsistent Water Pressure: Guests reported issues with "inconsistent" water levels from the shower and tap, affecting the functionality of basic washroom amenities.
- Damaged Towels Provided: The provision of "brown 'torn towels'" is noted, indicating a lack of quality in the amenities supplied to guests.
- Insufficient Room Keys: A practical inconvenience cited is the lack of "additional key rooms" depending on the number of guests, which can hinder mobility and access for groups.
- Unreliable Booking System: A significant operational flaw highlighted is that confirmed bookings were reportedly not found in the system ("booking tak ada dalam sistem. Happened twice"), leading to considerable distress upon arrival.
- Absent Reception Service: Guests reported "no receptionist to assist" upon arrival, indicating a fundamental lack of immediate customer service and support during check-in, which is a basic expectation for hotels.
- Overall Low Satisfaction Rating: One guest explicitly stated it "Deserves no star at all" and gave a "Thumbs down," reflecting a very low overall guest satisfaction based on their cumulative negative experiences.
These points represent the key characteristics of the guest experience at KL Guest Hotel, as highlighted by actual customers.

While the hotel's address in Taman Keramat Permai positions it within a local suburban setting, offering a distinct environment from the city's more commercial areas, the suitability of this place for locals largely depends on individual priorities and tolerance for potential shortcomings.
Based purely on the feedback provided, which details concerns such as unpleasant odors, dusty and unhygienic rooms and bed linens, inconsistent water supply, torn towels, insufficient room keys, and significant issues with booking reliability and absent receptionists, KL Guest Hotel appears to fall short on fundamental expectations of cleanliness, comfort, and customer service. Apr 17, 2023 · VICKY LOIt was a great experience! They had friendly staff that quick to respond to our needs.I like the fact that the area was filled with places that we can eat and is easily accessible. The train station is near too. Additionally, grab drivers can find the hotel really easily. There's nothing that I particularly don't like, at the end of the day, it's a Budget hotel - but it serves a high standard.
