Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse Introduce
When planning a stay in the vibrant heart of Kuala Lumpur, particularly for locals in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur seeking a spacious apartment-style accommodation for family visits, group gatherings, or extended stays, guesthouses often present an intriguing option. Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse, nestled in the iconic Kampung Baru area, aims to offer such a solution. Situated in a residential development, it provides apartment units rather than traditional hotel rooms, which can appeal to those looking for more space and a homely environment. This type of lodging is frequently chosen for its potential to provide a comfortable base for exploring the city, especially for those familiar with Kuala Lumpur's layout and eager to experience local life. For locals, a guesthouse in a familiar and central location like Kampung Baru offers the convenience of staying within the city while perhaps hosting family from out of town or needing a temporary residence for specific events. The idea is to combine the independence of an apartment with the basic services of a short-term rental. It's a choice that often comes down to balancing location, space, and a certain level of expected service, particularly when compared to more conventional hotel stays. Let's delve deeper into what Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse offers to help you make an informed decision for your next stay in KL.
Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse boasts a highly central and convenient address at **Jalan Raja Muda Musa, Kampung Baru, 50300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia**. This location is undeniably one of the strongest points for this guesthouse, offering significant advantages for anyone looking to experience the true essence of Kuala Lumpur. Kampung Baru is a unique and historical enclave within the city, known for its rich cultural heritage, traditional Malay houses, and most notably, its incredible array of local eateries and hawker stalls. This "food heaven" means that guests have immediate access to an authentic culinary journey, with countless options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all within walking distance. You can savour delicious Nasi Lemak, traditional kuih, and a variety of other local delights without ever needing to venture far. Beyond the gastronomic appeal, the accessibility from Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse is also a key highlight. The area is exceptionally well-served by public transport. While not explicitly stated for this guesthouse, properties in Legasi Residence are typically very close to an **LRT station**, providing direct and efficient connections to major Kuala Lumpur landmarks. This includes prominent areas like Suria KLCC, Bukit Bintang's shopping districts, and various business hubs, making daily commutes or sightseeing incredibly convenient and negating the need for private transport in many cases. The guesthouse also offers notable **views of the city**, which is a significant plus, allowing guests to enjoy the iconic KL skyline from their accommodation. This combination of cultural immersion, culinary delights, and superb transportation links makes the location of Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse a compelling reason for consideration for locals and visitors alike.
Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse aims to provide an apartment-style stay, which typically means a more independent experience than a full-service hotel. Based on available public information, including customer feedback, here’s a general overview of the services you might encounter:
- **Apartment Accommodation:** The guesthouse provides apartment units, offering more space than a standard hotel room, which can be beneficial for families or groups.
- **Checking In and Out Process:** The check-in process is described as "pretty easy and straightforward." However, guests should be aware of a "compulsory RM200 deposit" required upon check-in, with a strict "No Deposit, No Check-In" policy. Upon check-out, be prepared to wait "approximately 15-20mins for them to check your apartment and to get back your deposit refund."
- **Basic Furnishings:** The apartments are furnished, typically including beds (e.g., queen bed, futon), and a living room area.
- **Basic Kitchen/Pantry Area:** While not explicitly detailed, apartment guesthouses often include basic facilities such as a refrigerator, and possibly a kettle or microwave for light meal preparation, enhancing the 'home away from home' feel.
- **Cleanliness (Variable):** Customer feedback indicates that cleanliness levels might vary, described by one guest as "just okay," with mentions of "dusty here and there" and dusty wardrobes.
- **Air Conditioning:** Air conditioning units are provided in rooms and the living area. However, there have been reports of functionality issues, such as units "not cold at all" or "leaking," and the living room aircon "not working."
- **Communication/Maintenance Support (Area for Improvement):** According to reviews, responsiveness to maintenance requests (e.g., for leaking air conditioning or non-working units) and calls/messages during the stay has been an issue, with "NO REPLY AT ALL" reported by a guest during a 3-night stay.
- **Deposit Refund Process (Area for Improvement):** There have been instances of significant delays in the deposit refund process, with one guest reporting receiving their refund "after 11 days" despite being promised 2-3 days, requiring "multiple follow up."
- **Parking:** Parking is available, but guests should note that the "parking distance from the carpark to the apartment is quite a distance," which might be a consideration for elderlies or those with mobility issues.
- **Pest Control (Area for Improvement):** One review mentioned a "cockroach infestation" during a blackout, indicating potential issues with pest control and hygiene.
Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse offers a mix of advantages and areas for potential improvement, based on recent guest experiences. Here's a breakdown of its features and highlights:
- **Excellent Location & Views:** This is undeniably a major highlight. Guests consistently rate its location highly, with one review specifically giving "2 stars for the view & location." Being in Kampung Baru provides immediate access to local eateries and public transport, along with city views.
- **Spacious Apartment Units:** The guesthouse offers "big and spacious" apartment units, which is a significant advantage for families or groups who require more room than typical hotel rooms. This allows for comfortable living, relaxation, and activities.
- **Easy and Straightforward Check-in:** The check-in process itself is described as efficient and hassle-free, which is a good start to any stay.
- **Proximity to Local Food Scene:** As part of Kampung Baru, guests have a vast array of authentic Malay culinary experiences right at their doorstep, from hawker stalls to traditional restaurants. This is a huge plus for food lovers.
- **Value Proposition (Potential):** For the price point, particularly if all amenities function as expected and service is responsive, the spaciousness and location could offer good value for certain types of travelers, especially those who prioritize space and location above all else.
However, it's crucial for prospective guests to be aware of the following points, based on recent feedback:
- **Maintenance Issues:** There are reported problems with air conditioning (leaking, not cold, non-functional living room unit) and a lack of responsiveness from maintenance or management when issues arise ("NO REPLY AT ALL").
- **Cleanliness Concerns:** While generally "okay," some guests have noted "dusty" areas and wardrobe interiors, suggesting inconsistency in cleaning standards.
- **Pest Control:** A serious concern was raised about "cockroach infestation" during a power outage, indicating a potential hygiene issue.
- **Deposit Refund Delays:** A significant delay in deposit refunds (up to 11 days instead of 2-3) and a need for "multiple follow up" have caused frustration among guests.
- **Customer Service Responsiveness:** There are clear indications of a lack of communication and follow-up from staff regarding issues during the stay and after check-out.
- **Parking Distance:** The considerable distance from the carpark to the apartment might be an inconvenience for some guests, particularly those with mobility challenges or elderlies.

For locals in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse offers a compelling proposition primarily due to its **excellent location and the spaciousness of its apartment units**. Being situated in Kampung Baru provides unbeatable access to a rich local food scene and superb public transportation links, particularly the LRT, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city or commuting. The potential for great city views is also a significant draw, allowing residents to enjoy KL's iconic skyline from their accommodation. If your primary considerations are a central location, ample space for a family or group, and immediate access to authentic local cuisine, then the guesthouse’s location certainly shines. However, it is crucial for prospective local users to set realistic expectations based on recent customer experiences. While the "view & location" are highly praised, feedback points to significant concerns regarding **cleanliness, maintenance (especially air conditioning issues with no timely response), pest control, and frustrating delays in deposit refunds with a lack of proactive customer service**. For local users who are accustomed to a certain standard of responsiveness and comfort, these issues might detract from the overall experience. While the idea of a spacious apartment in a prime location at a potentially competitive price is appealing, potential guests should weigh these reported challenges carefully. It might be suitable for those who prioritize location and space above all else and are prepared to manage potential issues independently, or perhaps for very short stays where amenities are less critical. For longer stays or those requiring consistent comfort and reliable service, it would be prudent to inquire about recent improvements or consider alternatives, ensuring a truly hassle-free experience in our beloved city.

Legasi Kampung Bharu Guesthouse Reviews
2 stars for the view & location.I am a frequent traveller, especially to KL. Frequent meaning, I will come to KL on average at least once every 2 months. So, I have been to many hotels and apartments. This time round, I came to KL for a family engagement event. So, we had to do a lot of preparation in the apartment.Firstly, checking in was pretty easy and straight forward. They require a compulsory RM200 deposit. There is a sign at the check-in counter stating "No Deposit, No Check-In"Parking distance from the carpark to the apartment is quite a distance. So if you have elderlies or leg problem, I wouldn't recommend you to take this apartment. The apartment is big and spacious, cleanliness was just okay..dusty here and there, opened the wardrobe, dusty, the room with the queen bed and futon was also dusty and aircon was leaking on the bed headboard. Couldn't sleep well and had to shift the bed bcoz the aircon was on top of the headboard and dripping onto the headboard. Leaking aircon and it was not cold at all despite adjusting the temp to the lowest temperature. Called and message for maintenance, NO REPLY AT ALL. Living room aircon was not working too. I texted and called, NO ANSWER & NO REPLY at all throughout my 3 nights stay there.Upon checking out, u have to wait approximately 15-20mins for them to check your apartment and to get back your deposit refund. I couldn't be bothered to feedback to whoever was at the counter coz I was too pissed off to even mentioned about the aircon. ~~You couldn't even be bothered to reply to any of my calls or text so what makes me think that telling them the issue upon checking out will make them do something right. However, when my husband came up to check on me coz I was taking quite sometime to check out, he did feedback to the lady at the counter and all she could say was, "oh, nobody replied? Sorry."Anyway, for the price I'm paying at Legasi, I expected better. Definitely not coming back for a second time and definitely not recommending.
Jun 16, 2025 · Siti Faezah JumairiTerrible experience - blackout, cockroach infestation and late deposit refund.Stayed at this apartment and had a very bad experience. During my stay there was a blackout and to make it more worse, many cockroaches started coming out during the power cut clearly showing a serious hygiene issues. When I checked out on 25 May, the receptionist clearly said the deposit refund would take 2-3 days but I only received it after 11 days. I had to follow up multiple times just to get my money back. That delay is unacceptable especially when it goes against what was promised. Why need to hold the deposit money like for what reasons sia? Frust!I would not recommend this apartment unless they SERIOUSLY improve their cleanliness, pest control and customer service.
Jun 09, 2025 · Nurul Aiin FatihahPlease take this as a positive criticism to improve the management. I stayed here with family for 3 days & 2 nights. The room is equipped with a washing machine but I couldn't use it at all as there is no water coming out. I was shocked to see the balcony sliding door has no lock and it's definitely child unfriendly. I brought along my nephew and nieces & one of my nieces is a toddler. It is very dangerous hence I made complaints to the staffs as if there's a chance to get a new room. Alas, the management team told me all hotel rooms are fully booked. I was provided with 2 pass cards & one of the pass cards which is used for the parking is bent hence whenever we go out from the building, it was quite hard to detect. The building is very high as there are 49 levels and the lifts are only 3 provided. During my staycation, one of lifts was under maintenance and waiting for the lifts was like forever. Besides, I was informed that the RM 200 deposit will be transferred back after 1-2 working days. I checked out on 31st January 2025 which is Friday. Logically, the deposit will not be transferred during weekend. So I waited the weekdays to come & the finance team only notified me that if there is no money transferring they will make an action. I waited patiently but still after 2 days nothing happens. So the next day at around 2.30pm I texted again. I was quite pissed off as I sent them my QR code. Later after that I got my deposit money. They did apologise for their lateness but still I wanted to highlight this issue for future reference.
Feb 05, 2025 · Wan Sujaihah TsukushiOverall, our stay at Legasi Guesthouse was comfortable, and the security was excellent. However, the last-minute issues ruined the experience. From 10:30 AM until our extended checkout at 1:30 PM, there was no electricity, making it extremely inconvenient. We couldn’t iron our clothes, and taking a shower was difficult without hot water. Despite multiple follow-ups, the issue wasn’t resolved.Additionally, the room description was misleading —we expected a KLCC and Saloma bridge view only but got a direct view of Perkuburan Islam, which was not mentioned in the listing. The deposit refund was also delayed, adding to our frustration. While the stay itself was comfortable, the poor service and lack of transparency at the end left a bad impression. Would only recommend if these issues are fixed.
Feb 13, 2025 · Aina RafilahLocation of apartments is really good. Also you can see the twin towers from apartments and pool. The downside of this property is cleanliness. This place needs renovation or at least a good clean.
