But now it has been turned into a madrasah.HISTORY OF THE OLD MOSQUE OF TAWAR ISLAND1700 - This mosque was founded by a person named Muallim Yunus bin Muallim Kecik.He came to this village following his brother, Tun Sinar Puteh, who came to open this village about 100 years before that, which is about the year 1600.1750 - The work of knowledge and imarah of the mosque was continued by the children of Muallim Yunus namely Imam Jelani, Kadhi Ishak, Kadhi Abdullah, Kadhi Abdul Hamid and also the great-grandchildren of Tun Sinar Puteh such as Tun Abdul Latif, Tun Sinar Karim, Tun Andak.1800 - The work of knowledge and imarah of the mosque was continued by the grandchildren of Muallim Yunus together with the 5th generation of Tun Sinar Puteh, among them are Imam Dertik, Khatib Basari, Bilal Tanjung, Imam Derseh.1850 - Tu wrote Continued by the next ancestors including Penghulu Abas bin Md Saleh, Tok Muda Wok bin Zainal, Imam Daud, Tawang bin Long, Imam Perang Kasim, H| Awang Tanjong, Khatib Awang, H| Khatib Mat Ali, Khatib Ishak.1873 - Sultan Ahmad Al-Muazzam Shah granted Pulau Tawar to Tok Gajah.Tok Gajah, the elders and assisted by the villagers carry out the process of upgrading the mosque.1885 - JP Rodger and Hugh Clifford came to Pulau Tawar to meet Tok Gajah asking to persuade the king to accept British residents in Pahang.
