OYO 148 I Hotel Introduce
For us, residents of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, finding a practical and affordable place to stay within the bustling city is often a key consideration, especially when on a budget, needing a quick stopover, or hosting visitors. In the vibrant area of Jalan Maharajalela, a location known for its city-centre accessibility, one such option is OYO 148 I Hotel. This hotel caters to those seeking essential accommodation without a hefty price tag. This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview of OYO 148 I Hotel, helping us, as local users, understand what to expect from this budget-friendly choice.
OYO hotels are generally recognized for providing standardized, no-frills accommodation at competitive prices, targeting travelers who prioritize cost-effectiveness and a convenient location. OYO 148 I Hotel appears to align with this model, offering basic lodging in a well-connected part of Kuala Lumpur. While some customer reviews highlight challenges such as 'smell of cigarette smoke' in rooms, issues with deposit refunds, and additional fees like 'weekend fee' and 'tourist tax', it's important to acknowledge these concerns to set realistic expectations.
Conversely, one review does mention 'friendly staff' and a 'clean room', indicating that some aspects of the service and cleanliness meet expectations. The 'good location' is also consistently praised, which for us, navigating KL, is often a primary factor when choosing a hotel. The issues with 'shower needs repair' and 'lights burnt out in stairwell' point to maintenance aspects that potential guests should be aware of. Despite these mixed experiences, the hotel continues to operate, suggesting it fulfills a demand for accessible, budget-conscious lodging in its area.
Understanding these candid insights from fellow customers is vital. It allows us to make an informed decision, weighing the benefits of its location and affordability against potential inconveniences. This article will further explore the specifics of OYO 148 I Hotel's location and accessibility, outline the typical services offered by OYO properties, highlight its key features, and ultimately, conclude why, despite its noted drawbacks, it might still be a suitable choice for certain local users in Kuala Lumpur seeking a very economical stay.
OYO 148 I Hotel is located at 143, Jln Maharajalela, Kampung Attap, 50150 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This address places the hotel in a highly central and historically rich part of Kuala Lumpur, making its location a significant advantage for guests seeking convenience and connectivity.
Jalan Maharajalela is a prominent road in Kuala Lumpur, known for its direct links to various parts of the city. The area of Kampung Attap, while undergoing revitalization with modern developments, retains much of its old-world charm and is conveniently situated near key city landmarks. For us, as KL residents, this location offers excellent accessibility to public transport and major attractions.
The hotel's proximity to public transport is a major highlight. The Maharajalela Monorail station is literally just a few steps away from the hotel (often described as within a 1-2 minute walk). This Monorail line provides seamless access to popular tourist and commercial hubs such as Bukit Bintang, Imbi, and Chow Kit, making it incredibly easy to explore KL's shopping, dining, and entertainment scenes without the need for a private vehicle. Furthermore, it's also within a reasonable walking distance or a very short ride-share trip to other public transport hubs like Pasar Seni LRT and MRT stations, expanding connectivity to virtually all parts of the city.
As mentioned in a review, the 'good location' is a key advantage. It offers easy access to historical sites like Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara, which are within walking distance, making it ideal for those attending events or keen on exploring KL's heritage. The burgeoning TRX (Tun Razak Exchange) financial district is also not far, appealing to business travelers. Despite being on a 'busy road outside' as noted in a review, which contributes to noise, this also means constant activity and accessibility to taxis and ride-sharing services.
The surrounding area of Jalan Maharajalela and Kampung Attap provides a wealth of local amenities. Guests can find various eateries, from traditional kopitiams to more modern cafes, as well as convenience stores, pharmacies, and banks within easy reach. This integration into a bustling urban environment ensures that guests have everything they need close at hand, making OYO 148 I Hotel's location a strong point for budget-conscious travelers seeking to maximize their time in Kuala Lumpur.

For us, the residents of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, OYO 148 I Hotel on Jalan Maharajalela offers a specific type of suitability, primarily rooted in its **unbeatable location** and its role as a **highly economical accommodation choice**. While customer reviews highlight some areas for improvement, understanding its niche makes it a viable option for certain local needs.
The most compelling reason for its suitability is undeniably its location. Being literally steps away from the **Maharajalela Monorail station** means unparalleled access to much of Kuala Lumpur's city center. For a quick business trip, a spontaneous shopping spree in Bukit Bintang, attending an event at **Stadium Merdeka** (which is also within walking distance), or simply needing a convenient place to crash after a night out, this hotel's position is incredibly advantageous. We, as locals, truly value seamless public transport connectivity, and OYO 148 I Hotel delivers on this front, saving us time and the hassle of driving and parking in the city.
Secondly, OYO 148 I Hotel primarily caters to the **budget-conscious traveler**. For those times when a fancy hotel isn't necessary, and the goal is simply a clean bed, air conditioning, and a private bathroom at the lowest possible cost, this hotel fits the bill. While some reviews mention issues like a 'smell of cigarette smoke', deposit complications, and 'surprise additional fees' (like weekend fee and tourist tax, which is a common government levy), these are crucial points for potential guests to consider and clarify upon booking. However, for a very low price point, it provides the fundamental requirement of a place to stay in a prime location.
The presence of 'friendly staff' and a generally 'clean room' (despite specific maintenance comments) indicates that, at its core, the hotel aims to provide basic comfort. For us, who might be familiar with the varying standards of budget hotels in Malaysia, OYO 148 I Hotel can be seen as a functional stopover. It's not aiming for a luxury experience, but rather to be a practical solution for those prioritizing location and cost above all else.
In conclusion, OYO 148 I Hotel is suitable for us, the locals of Kuala Lumpur, primarily as a **no-frills, highly accessible, and budget-friendly option**. If your priority is a strategic city-centre location with direct access to public transport, and you are prepared for a basic, economical stay, then OYO 148 I Hotel can serve your purpose effectively for short visits or as a convenient base to explore the vibrant heart of our capital city.

OYO 148 I Hotel Reviews
Can you stand it... there is a smell of cigarette smoke on your clothes when you enter the room, the smell comes with you. When checking out, the deposit is not refunded. The reason was given because maybe I was smoking in the room... 🤔🤔🤔
Jun 27, 2024 · Suhaimi SulaimanFriendly staff. Clean room but shower needs repair and the busy road outside is quite loud. Also watch out for surprise additional fees such as "weekend fee" and "tourist tax". We will not be back. Lights burnt out in stairwell. It is a good location.
Apr 16, 2018 · Tami BaliNice hotel at affordable prices. Very kind staff. Recommend this place to live. This located on a walking distance from times square. For food there are limited options but you can go to time square easily. Best value for money. If you are looking for a peaceful night, you want to sale this is a good option. As you can see in pictures there is a study table. There were more than two power plugins. I also worked while staying there. I wish you and hotel team good luck.
May 10, 2019 · Muhammad FarooqRemember the 80's sitcom " Cheers " soundtrack .. ? 🎶 Where everybody knows your name🎶 I'm very minimalist when it comes to lodging, so as long as the room is clean and the wifi works .. 👍good enough for me. And the rates are cheap considering it's smack in the center of the city. Maybe the housekeeping needs a little improvement ..
Feb 22, 2017 · Ahmad Razi Za'baa lot of hidden charges so not that cheap at the end.+ 10 RM per night for tourist and an extra 10 RM because we came during the weekend. Ask for the money back to the host. Very noisy when you are facing the main road. The shower was broken and the floor was in rough shape.
