Sticks & Baron Introduce
Selamat datang, food enthusiasts and view-seekers of Selangor! If you’re searching for a dining experience that combines delicious food with a breathtaking backdrop, then you absolutely must discover Sticks & Baron in Sungai Long. Nestled within the scenic drive into Monkey’s Canopy, this restaurant offers a unique blend of casual dining with an ambiance that’s typically reserved for fine-dining establishments. It’s the perfect spot for locals looking to enjoy a memorable meal with family and friends, all while soaking in beautiful natural views.
Selangor is known for its diverse culinary scene, but finding a place that delivers on both taste and atmosphere at a reasonable price can sometimes be a challenge. Sticks & Baron rises to this occasion, providing a relaxed setting that allows you to enjoy the same stunning vistas as its more upscale neighbour, Ahan Thai fine dining, but with a more approachable menu and without the need for advance bookings. This makes it an ideal choice for spontaneous outings or casual gatherings where the focus is on good food and great company amidst nature.
Whether you're craving authentic Asian flavours or classic Western comfort food, Sticks & Baron aims to please a variety of palates. From flavourful Kajang satay and innovative Kajang Satay Pizza to hearty burgers and fish and chips, there's likely something for everyone on their extensive menu. Plus, the friendly and attentive service ensures a comfortable dining experience, making it a truly welcoming spot for the Sungai Long community and beyond. Remember, the best time to visit is in the evening, around 6:15 PM, to capture the beautiful turquoise water and the enchanting lighted pavilions, creating truly Insta-worthy moments.
Sticks & Baron is uniquely situated at Lot 683 Jalan Persiaran Bukit Enggang Sg Long Hill, 43200 Sungai Long, Selangor, Malaysia. This address places it within the picturesque area leading to Monkey's Canopy, a popular destination in Sungai Long known for its natural beauty. The drive into the area is itself scenic, setting the tone for a relaxing experience. For locals in Selangor, navigating to this spot is straightforward, though a bit of care is required, especially when driving up or down the hill, as there might be potholes and hikers. The restaurant is directly next to Ahan Thai fine dining, sharing the same beautiful pavilions and offering a more casual alternative.
Upon arrival, visitors will encounter a guard house. It's crucial to pay attention here, as there are two designated roads – one for cars entering on the left and another for those leaving on the right. A guard is usually present to guide you into the correct lane, ensuring a smooth entry. After passing the guard house, continue further in, and you will find open-air parking available, which is currently free. This ample, free parking adds to the convenience, especially for groups.
While the location might feel a bit off the beaten path compared to conventional urban restaurants, its secluded nature contributes to the serene ambiance and stunning views it offers. For those driving from various parts of Selangor, using GPS applications like Waze or Google Maps with the provided address will accurately guide you to this hidden gem in Sungai Long.

This ensures there's something to satisfy every craving.

- Walk-in Seating: Unlike some nearby fine-dining establishments, Sticks & Baron generally does not require advance booking, making it convenient for spontaneous visits.

- Family-Friendly Environment: With a wide menu and a relaxed ambiance, it's suitable for family outings and gatherings.
Sticks & Baron stands out for several compelling features and highlights that make it a highly desirable dining destination in Selangor:
- Stunning Scenic Views: The most significant highlight is the beautiful ambiance and picturesque view. Located amidst nature, it offers a serene backdrop for your meal, especially captivating during the evening with the turquoise water and lighted pavilions.
- Affordable "View Dining": Customers consistently praise the fact that you can enjoy the same "Insta-worthy" views and pavilions as the more expensive Ahan Thai next door, but at a "simpler and cheaper" price point, making it excellent value for money.
- Diverse Culinary Offerings: The fusion menu, combining flavorful Asian dishes (like the highly-rated Kajang Satay and Kajang Satay Pizza) with Western options, caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences within a single establishment.
- Generous Portions: Reviewers note that dishes like the "tower burger" are "pretty big" and the fish in the fish and chips had "solid meat," indicating good portion sizes.
- No Service Tax (Included): The final price is nett, as service tax is already included, providing transparency and no hidden costs, which is appreciated by diners.
- Accommodating Service: The staff's willingness to go above and beyond, such as bringing an air cooler on a hot day and being attentive to customer needs, significantly enhances the dining experience.
- Relaxed, No-Booking Policy: The ability to walk in without booking, in contrast to fine-dining neighbours, offers greater flexibility and spontaneity for diners.
- Free Parking: Ample and free open-air parking adds to the convenience, especially for those driving to the location.
While Sticks & Baron's standard pricing already offers excellent value for the ambiance and experience, specific ongoing promotions are not explicitly detailed in public reviews. However, like many dynamic restaurants in Selangor, they may periodically offer specials that could include:
- Set Meals or Lunch Specials: Introducing special lunch menus or set dinners at a fixed price to attract more diners during specific hours or days.
- Seasonal Menu Items: Highlighting new or seasonal dishes for a limited time, perhaps incorporating local ingredients or festive themes.
- Beverage Promotions: Discounts on specific drinks or happy hour deals to encourage patronage.
- Loyalty Programs: Although not mentioned, some establishments might offer a simple stamp card or point system for returning customers to earn discounts or free items.
- Event Packages: For those looking to host small gatherings or celebrations, special packages might be available that include food, drinks, and usage of specific pavilion areas.
Given the nature of the establishment, it's always best to check their social media pages (if available) or inquire directly with the staff upon arrival for any current promotions. The value proposition of Sticks & Baron already lies heavily in its scenic views and diverse menu at a reasonable price, but any additional offers would certainly be a bonus for locals.

Sticks & Baron Reviews
Visited many months back.Scenic view driving into Monkey's Canopy.Constuctions are still ongoing when we visited.Iced Americano (rm12).Prawn Aglio Olio (rm34);kinda dry.Service is decent but not very observant.I left the restaurant without realising i forgot my bag which was on the seat.I walked for maybe 50m before realising and ran back.Nobody informed me.(maybe 50m is too short distance for them to notice, should have walked further).
Jan 25, 2025 · Caryn JenThis place is directly next to Ahan Thai fine dining, using the same pavilions. Just walk past Ahan.Food. The Asian dishes eg Kajang satay and Kajang satay pizza are really flavourful. However, the tower burger and fish and chips could do with a bit more flavour/salt. Still, the burger was pretty big and the fish had solid meat (and it wasn't dory). So, I would say for the view you get, it's a decent price.Price. Meals range between RM25 to over RM70. Kajang Satay Pizza was RM38. The Malaysian Satay was RM30.00. Triple Decker Sandwich was RM25.00 while the Fish and Chips were RM70.00. Juices were about RM15.00 each. Three of us ordered Honeydew Juice and they all came in varying colours, and one was bland, although the other two tasted very refreshing. No service tax, it's already included. For 5 pax, the meal came up to RM280.00 nett. This place offers both Asian and Western meals eg nasi lemak, char kuey teow, pizza, burgers, desserts (we did not try these this time) so there's probably something for everyone.Ambience. Beautiful view. Instead of paying for RM500++ for the exact same pavillion/cabana above the water at Ahan (Thai fine dining) next door, we could get a simpler and cheaper meal next door. We didn't have to book in advance (like we had to do for Ahan) - just walk-in. If you want an Insta-worthy photos of your dishes, you'll probably want to splurge at Ahan. But if you want simpler/cheaper ala-carte fusion dishes with the same view and less hassle, you can go for Sticks and Baron.Note: You'll want to come in the evening, not at night. Reach around 6:15pm. The colour of the water seems turquoise in the evening and you'll want to capture this in your photos. You can capture the pavilions that have been lighted up at night as well.Service. Had to take my hat off for their service. It's been rather hot and humid, so the servers brought over an air cooler machine just for us! They also checked with us on how our meal was. They were also friendly and attentive. For those who haven't been here before, be careful driving up/down the hill as there may be some potholes and hikers going up/down or cars parked at the side to enjoy the night view (dangerous but...). Be careful of the guard house as there are two roads. One for cars going in on the left, and those leaving on the right. A guard should be there to guide you in the lane you should take. Head further in and you'll come across open air parking. Parking is free for now.
May 19, 2024 · Charmaine ChiaThis is one of the worst dine in experiences in my life and ive been to multiple roadside and village restaurants. This is inexplicable as this place monkeys canopy has such high standards and reviews. Extremely terrible service. Food came really late and not nice at all and orders were confused. Workers arent fluent in english or malay, only maybe 1-2 were. This is absolutely ridiculous for a company of this standard. Nyonya curry laksa was awful and inedible. Pizza was microwaveable pizza but came late. Drink were also awful. Overall such a terrible experience. Please do not come here!!!!!Such a let down from seeing a nice looking restaurant thinking that it would be a nice experience. Reviews should be lower than it is. Good that this restaurant is empty. I think they spent so much money on decorating the restaurant instead of using it to please customers LOL. Just please do not come here. Even if ur brave or wanna try new stuff, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! ABSOLUTELY A DISGRACE
Jan 29, 2025 · Shah EsmaelBad service. We were a group of 24 people. They were not able to handle our orders. Food came really late. I ordered the fried rice which was substandard. It wasn't worth RM26. My niece's order didn't come at all. The waiters didn't speak BM or English which was a problem because when the food was ready they didn't know which dish was meant for whom.
Jan 30, 2025 · Nadiah Abdul AzizThe service was awful. Most staffs cannot understand english and malay. The prawns and tofu were not fresh, the pasta was incredibly oily. And the staffs were very stingy in refunding. Also, the roof leaks water in when raining.
