Tan's Camellia Garden Reviews
Mrs. Tan generously opens her garden to anyone interested for free. After 32 years tending to her 100s of plant species, a neighboring apartment complex has eclipsed her work. The late Mr. Tan's orchids are glorious! Go spend some time chatting with this amazing woman. You won't regret it.
Dec 22, 2024 · Erica BlesaA magical garden bursting with plants and flowers, tucked into a hillside in Tanah Rata. Camellias, Anthuriums, Azaleas, Bromeliads, and many more. Entry is free and some plants available to purchase.
Feb 02, 2025 · Muna H. BilgramiImpressed by the variety and plants a plenty, started by 2 passionate gardeners over 30 years ago.I think the place has seen better days before the adjacent developments came up, and before Mr Tan passed. However, the garden is in Mrs Tan's good hands. She was patient showing us around. There were lemons the size of papayas (over 1 kg) and some unusual plants like the lotus banana plant below.Pls watch out for mossies!
Jan 02, 2025 · SY ChuaA delightful contrast to the trashiness of most of the town. Garden is lovely in a slightly unkempt, uncommercial way. Mrs Tan is most welcoming.
Mar 23, 2025 · Ben GoodgerIt felt like walking through a real-life echanted forest. There's a little creek, garden benches, arches of white flowers, etc. Completely magical.Mrs Tan was very helpful and friendly when telling my mum which plants would be good for bringing back to KL, and she even gave us some extra clippings to see if we would be able to plant them when we got back. She also sold a special dried tea leaf blend.Do note there's a lot of mosquitoes around, so if you go when it's near dusk, don't wear darker clothing/bring mosquito repellent.
