For locals in Selangor seeking a tranquil escape from the urban hustle, Teratak Rimba Amir offers a refreshing natural retreat nestled within the lush landscapes near Batu Caves. This charming destination, located in Kampung Batang Batu, provides a serene setting ideal for families and individuals looking to reconnect with nature, enjoy a cool dip in the river, and unwind amidst the soothing sounds of the forest. While often lauded for its beautiful river and natural ambiance, it’s important for visitors to be aware of certain considerations to ensure a pleasant and safe experience. Teratak Rimba Amir represents a segment of Selangor's growing eco-tourism, allowing residents to easily access natural attractions without having to travel too far from home. It's a place where you can switch off, enjoy the simple pleasures of nature, and create lasting memories with loved ones in a calming, verdant environment.
Teratak Rimba Amir is a natural tourist attraction primarily known for its beautiful river, which serves as a popular spot for locals in Selangor to enjoy water-based activities like bathing and picnicking. Located in the Kampung Batang Batu area of Batu Caves, it offers a rustic, back-to-nature experience, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the refreshing embrace of the natural environment. The allure of Teratak Rimba Amir lies in its tranquil atmosphere and the opportunity to cool off in the river, providing a much-needed respite from the tropical heat. Many visitors come with families, seeking a peaceful day out amidst greenery and flowing water. However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of the recent concerns raised by some patrons regarding water cleanliness. One review specifically highlights an unfortunate incident involving several family members, including children, contracting a rotavirus infection after bathing in the river. This indicates a critical need for attention to water quality and surrounding sanitation by the management. Despite these concerns, the natural beauty of the river itself is consistently praised, indicating its strong potential as a leisure spot if cleanliness standards are rigorously maintained. The management appears to be charging an entrance fee, which suggests some level of infrastructure or oversight, though the specifics of what this fee covers in terms of amenities and maintenance are not entirely clear from the provided information. It is essentially a natural riverine park, popular for its accessible bathing spots and natural charm, attracting those who appreciate simple outdoor recreation.
Teratak Rimba Amir is geographically located at 8M6X+55, Kampung Batang Batu, 48200 Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia. This address places it within the broader Batu Caves area, a well-known landmark in Selangor, though Kampung Batang Batu itself is a more rural, forested region. For locals in Selangor, particularly those residing in Batu Caves, Gombak, Selayang, and other northern districts of Kuala Lumpur, accessing Teratak Rimba Amir is relatively straightforward. The attraction is situated somewhat off the main roads, requiring navigation through local routes within Kampung Batang Batu. While a precise coordinate (8M6X+55) is provided, typical navigation apps would easily direct visitors to the location using "Teratak Rimba Amir." For those driving, there would generally be parking available, although specific details on designated parking areas or fees are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, apart from a note about being "charged" upon logging in. Given its natural and somewhat rustic setting, public transportation might not offer direct access. Visitors relying on public transport would likely need to take a train (KTM Komuter to Batu Caves station) or bus to the Batu Caves area, and then utilise a taxi or ride-sharing service for the final leg of the journey to Kampung Batang Batu. The journey from central Kuala Lumpur or other parts of Selangor might take approximately 30-60 minutes by car, depending on traffic conditions. Its location within a kampung area means visitors can expect a more laid-back, rural atmosphere compared to highly commercialised attractions, appealing to those who prefer a less developed natural environment for their leisure activities.
Based on the provided information and common practices for natural river attractions, Teratak Rimba Amir primarily offers access to a natural environment for recreational purposes. While not a full-service resort, the "services" can be inferred as:
- River Access for Bathing and Picnicking: The core service is providing a natural river environment where visitors can swim, bathe, and enjoy picnics by the riverside. This is the main draw for families and groups.
- Entry Point/Fee Collection: The mention of being "charged" upon logging in indicates a managed entry point, implying that some form of admission fee is collected for access to the area. The exact fee structure (per person, per car, etc.) is not detailed.
- Designated Zones: There are hints of different "zones," with "zone A" being described as "ok" and other areas potentially less clean due to "toilet water drainage." This suggests some level of informal or formal zoning for recreational use.
- Basic Natural Amenities: Visitors can expect natural shade from trees, the sound of flowing water, and possibly rudimentary facilities like changing areas or toilets, though the review raises concerns about the cleanliness of these facilities and their drainage impact on the river.
- Proximity to Other Resorts: The mention of "GIBS RESORT across the river" suggests that visitors might have access to additional amenities or services from nearby commercial establishments, though these are not directly offered by Teratak Rimba Amir.
It's important to note that direct "services" in a commercial sense (e.g., equipment rental, guided tours, food stalls) are not explicitly mentioned and visitors should plan their trip with self-sufficiency in mind, bringing their own food, drinks, and essentials. The primary offering is access to the natural river for leisure.
Teratak Rimba Amir’s allure as a natural retreat in Selangor stems from several key features and highlights, despite the recent concerns raised about cleanliness:
- Beautiful River Setting: The most prominent highlight is the "beautiful river" itself. The natural flowing water provides a refreshing environment, perfect for a dip and offering a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and enjoyment.
- Natural Ambiance: Located in Kampung Batang Batu, the area provides a serene and tranquil atmosphere, offering a much-needed escape from the urban environment. The sounds of nature and lush greenery contribute to a peaceful experience.
- Family-Friendly Environment: The river is a popular spot for families with children, indicating that the general environment is suitable for family outings, picnics, and simple water play.
- Accessibility from Urban Centres: Despite its natural setting, its location near Batu Caves makes it relatively accessible for locals from various parts of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, allowing for convenient day trips.
- Relaxing Outdoor Activity: It offers a simple yet fulfilling outdoor activity for those who enjoy being close to nature without requiring strenuous hiking or complex equipment. It’s ideal for unwinding and de-stressing.
- Designated Zones (Potential): The mention of "zone A is ok" suggests that certain areas within the attraction might be better maintained or offer a more pleasant experience compared to others, indicating some level of internal management or natural variation.
- Potential for Improvement: While a current concern, the explicit feedback regarding water cleanliness and drainage highlights an opportunity for the management to address these issues, which could significantly enhance the visitor experience and restore trust. If these concerns are addressed, the inherent beauty of the river could truly shine as a top local attraction.
The core appeal remains the natural beauty of the river and its surrounding environment, offering a simple and refreshing escape for those looking to enjoy Selangor's natural landscapes.
As Teratak Rimba Amir is primarily a natural attraction with an entrance fee, there are no specific "promotions or special offers" typically advertised in the conventional commercial sense (e.g., discounts, loyalty programs, seasonal sales). The primary "offer" is access to the natural river environment for a fee. The information provided mentions:
- Entry Fee: "Starting to log in has been charged. Enter the two points here and pay the other one inside." This indicates that there is an admission fee to access the area. The structure of this fee (e.g., per person, per vehicle, or different rates for different zones) is not specified.
Any potential 'offers' would likely be informal or depend on the management's discretion. These could potentially include:
- Group Rates: Larger groups might be offered a slightly reduced per-person rate, but this is speculative.
- Seasonal Activities: While not discounts, during certain festive periods or school holidays, the management might organise small, informal activities to enhance the visitor experience, which could be considered a form of value-added offering.
Given the nature of the attraction, locals interested in visiting should primarily focus on confirming the current entry fees and any operational guidelines directly at the site upon arrival. There is no public information available regarding specific promotional campaigns or loyalty programs for Teratak Rimba Amir. Visitors should be prepared to pay the standard entrance fee to gain access to the river area.
For a natural attraction like Teratak Rimba Amir, comprehensive contact information such as a dedicated customer service phone number or official website might not be as readily available as for commercial establishments. The provided information primarily gives a geographical address:
Address: 8M6X+55, Kampung Batang Batu, 48200 Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia
Given the nature of the provided reviews which include direct feedback and concerns, it's possible that direct contact with the management might be challenging through conventional means. However, for locals in Selangor who wish to gain further clarity or provide feedback, the following approaches might be relevant:
- On-Site Inquiry: The most direct way to get immediate information about opening hours, specific fees, or on-site facilities would be to visit the location directly during presumed operating hours and speak to the personnel managing the entry point.
- Community Word-of-Mouth: For local residents in Kampung Batang Batu and surrounding areas, word-of-mouth within the community is often a reliable way to get practical information or connect with the managing parties.
- Online Search and Social Media: While no official social media handles or websites were provided in the initial data, searching for "Teratak Rimba Amir" on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or Google Maps might yield unofficial community pages, user reviews, or local tourism groups where information or discussions about the place occur. These platforms sometimes reveal informal contact methods or community points of contact.
- Local Authorities: For serious concerns such as the water contamination issue highlighted in the review, contacting relevant local health authorities (e.g., Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Gombak/Selangor) or environmental agencies would be the appropriate channel for official investigation and action.
It is important to manage expectations regarding direct contact, as smaller, natural attractions might not have a formal customer service infrastructure.
Teratak Rimba Amir holds significant appeal for locals in Selangor, particularly for those seeking a convenient and natural escape within the state. Its primary suitability lies in its accessibility. Located in Kampung Batang Batu, near the well-known Batu Caves area, it offers an easily reachable destination for a day trip, especially for families and individuals residing in the northern parts of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. This proximity allows residents to enjoy the tranquility of nature without the need for extensive travel, making it a practical choice for spontaneous outings or regular weekend excursions.
Furthermore, the inherent beauty of the river and the surrounding natural environment provide a refreshing contrast to the urban landscape. Locals appreciate the opportunity to immerse themselves in clean, flowing water (assuming past concerns are addressed) and enjoy simple outdoor activities like picnicking and bathing. This type of raw, natural attraction offers a valuable respite from daily stresses, promoting relaxation and family bonding in a serene setting. It caters to a desire for straightforward, wholesome recreation that connects individuals with Selangor's natural heritage.
While the recent feedback regarding water quality is a serious concern that management ideally needs to address, the underlying natural charm of Teratak Rimba Amir remains. If the necessary improvements to sanitation and water monitoring are implemented, it has the potential to be an even more cherished local spot. The existing entry fee suggests a level of management and potential for reinvestment into facilities and maintenance, which, if utilised effectively, could enhance visitor confidence and experience.
In essence, Teratak Rimba Amir offers a unique blend of natural beauty and local convenience, making it an attractive option for Selangor residents. It provides an accessible venue for simple outdoor enjoyment, allowing locals to reconnect with nature and create cherished memories close to home, provided due diligence is exercised regarding the facilities and water conditions before a visit.

Teratak Rimba Amir Reviews
Peace be upon you..I bathed in Amir Rimba on 1/2/2025 (Saturday) with 4 families.. 7 adults & 3 children.. Returned from the river in the evening, 5 adults experienced symptoms of headache and stomach ache.. And on 2/2/2023 (Sunday), 3 children started vomiting, diarrhea and fever.. One child was rushed to the emergency room on 3/2/2025 in the morning and diagnosed rotavirus infection caused by contaminated water. Meanwhile, the other 2 children are still in the same condition of vomiting and diarrhea until the day I drop this review. Please AMIR RIMBA and the resort across the river, which is GIBS RESORT, take this case seriously.. Make sure the surrounding area of the resort and the water of the river, gentlemen, are in a clean condition.. Take every complaint seriously before the situation becomes more serious and causes death. The river is beautiful but it's a pity if the water is polluted. Thank you.P/s: I read the latest comment on Amir Rimba before I said, there is toilet water drainage... Please check the water flow of the resort again, thank you.
