Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur provides a range of essential services aimed at ensuring a functional and convenient stay, particularly for guests who prioritize location and basic amenities. While specific service levels can vary, the hotel strives to cater to the needs of its guests.
- Housekeeping Services: For stays of three nights or more, guests can expect regular housekeeping services. For shorter stays, an "eco-friendly policy" means housekeeping may not be provided daily unless specifically requested or for longer durations.
- Ironing Facilities: While not in-room, ironing facilities are available for guest use, typically located on a common floor (e.g., the first floor), providing a solution for those needing to press their clothes.
- 24-Hour Reception: The hotel likely offers a 24-hour front desk service, ensuring assistance is available regardless of check-in or check-out times. (General hotel standard, implied but not explicitly in reviews).
- Luggage Storage: While not directly mentioned in the provided reviews, hotels of this type typically offer luggage storage facilities for guests before check-in or after check-out.
- Paid Parking: Guests driving to the hotel should be aware that parking is available at a charge, typically RM10 per day, and often requires upfront payment for the entire duration of the stay. This is an important detail to confirm upon booking.
It's important for guests to note that service aspects such as daily housekeeping for short stays and the location of ironing facilities reflect a more streamlined, budget-conscious hotel model. Potential guests should clarify specific service expectations directly with the hotel if these are crucial for their stay.
Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur stands out primarily for its exceptional location, making it a strong contender for those who want to be in the midst of Kuala Lumpur's vibrant cultural and historical heart. While it operates as a value-for-money hotel, certain features are consistently highlighted:
- Strategic Location for Tourists: This is by far the most celebrated feature. The hotel is positioned perfectly for exploring Chinatown and other major attractions, with easy access to public transport.
- Proximity to Major Attractions: Guests can easily walk to popular spots like Petaling Street, Pasar Seni (Central Market), and the LRT Pasar Seni station, making sightseeing and city exploration incredibly convenient.
- Clean and Decent Rooms (Generally): While some isolated issues have been reported, many guests find the rooms to be generally clean and decent for a comfortable stay.
- Value for Money (Location-Dependent): For its central location, the hotel offers a competitive price point, appealing to budget-conscious travelers and locals seeking an affordable base in a prime area.
- Accessibility to Public Transport: Being very close to LRT Pasar Seni and various bus routes is a significant advantage, allowing guests to navigate Kuala Lumpur efficiently without needing private transport.
However, it is also important to consider aspects that some guests have noted as areas for improvement. These include potential issues with room views, service experience such as off-site ironing, and clarity regarding parking fees. While the location remains a strong positive, guests should manage their expectations regarding certain amenities and service levels, especially concerning cleanliness consistency and daily housekeeping for shorter stays.

Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur Reviews
Nothing else to boast about except strategic location. I have just checked in, and found bed linens to have blood stains, brown stains and small hairs. Towels are old and have stains as well. I requested to change and housekeeping did came to attend. However, there is a damp issue for the entire bed. Hygiene in the room wise, the floor is dusty. The paints on wall are miserable. We stay for two nights and the new so called eco friendly policy is something we didn't expect, whereby housekeeping is not available if you stay below 3 nights.I'm truly disappointed despite I have stayed here several times in the past. It was good. Obviously the hotel doesn't maintain it. At this price, we can easily have other option. To be honest, my entire holiday mood is ruined. The room is 705. I'm not sure about other room but I definitely not going to come back.
Jun 17, 2025 · Ee ThengTravelodge Chinatown KL is in a perfect location for tourists — right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, close to major attractions. The rooms are clean and decent, though the "city view" room I booked had only a small window with a very limited view. One downside was the service experience. I asked for an iron box and was told to go to the first floor to iron my clothes — quite unusual for a hotel setup. Also, I booked the hotel expecting free parking as listed during the search, but upon arrival, I was informed that parking costs RM 10 per day, and full payment had to be made in advance based on the number of days. This was unexpected and a bit inconvenient.Overall, the stay was okay mainly for the location, but a few service aspects and clarity in booking details need improvement.
Jun 16, 2025 · Asad IqbalConveniently located and clean, very great value.Superior queen toom was very spacious and clean.Couldn't ask for more for the price.Plenty of famous restaurants and tourist spots nearby. Food delivery can be placed at a dedicated spot at the front desk so great if you're feeling lazy after a long day.MRT and LRT stations within a short 3 minute walk, though the pavement was seriously damaged and needed to walk on the road. There's a launderette on 1/F, a bit expensive (a token is RM 10, requires one for wash and another for dry), but it's safer to do it within the hotel.Service was not so good.Didn't affect my experience, but some of the staff could use some more training or be more proactive. The male front desk staff was slow and unhelpful. Check in was slow. One morning when I went to the front desk to ask him where the launderette is, he told me but didn't tell me I need to buy tokens from him to use it.He could have saved me time going up and down just by asking me if I used it before (clearly I haven't since I had to ask where it is).My room was located at the end of the corridor through a doorway, but the housekeeping staff parked 2 trolleys right in front of the doorway so I had to squeeze through. But still, overall a great place to stay in a great area to explore and travel around the city.Highly recommend.
Apr 22, 2025 · Ada LawThe rooms are pretty decent. The queen deluxe room has a nice balcony and some of the rooms have the merdeka tower view. Although the bathroom size is quite small. The location is right next to Chinatown markets. It is very reasonably priced which makes it a good value for your money. The staff are friendly but it seems like the hotel is understaffed.
May 05, 2025 · Govind SinghA perfect hotel for travelers especially those who travel with public transports. I've stayed here a few times, and I am satisfied. The room is nice and cozy. The view is good. Overall service is good too. Near 2 trains, cafes and restaurants. A short walk to central market and petaling street.
