YES 99 Restaurant Introduce
For early birds and foodies in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, especially those residing in and around Taman Kepong, YES 99 Restaurant presents itself as a bustling hub for an authentic local breakfast experience. This eatery has carved out a niche for itself by opening its doors at the crack of dawn, catering to those who prefer to start their day with a hearty and flavourful meal. While unassuming from the outside, the consistent crowd, even in the wee hours, speaks volumes about its popularity among locals seeking their morning fix of comforting noodles.
YES 99 Restaurant is a place where simplicity meets tradition, focusing on a concise menu of beloved Malaysian staples. It’s not about an extensive array of dishes, but rather perfecting a few key offerings that resonate deeply with local palates. The early opening time of 5:30 AM is a significant draw, making it an ideal spot for shift workers, those heading out early, or simply anyone who enjoys a peaceful morning meal before the city fully awakens. Despite being an early riser's haven, the restaurant often finds itself "almost full" even at 7:00 AM, a testament to its strong local following. If you're in Taman Kepong and craving a straightforward, no-frills breakfast with a genuine local vibe, YES 99 Restaurant is definitely worth a visit to kickstart your day.
YES 99 Restaurant is conveniently located at 37, Jalan Development, Taman Kepong, 52100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This puts it squarely in the heart of Taman Kepong, a well-established and easily navigable neighbourhood within Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant's position along Jalan Development makes it relatively straightforward to find for locals familiar with the area. For those driving, early morning visits, specifically "around 7:00 am," are reported to offer "plenty of parking spots available along the street," which is a significant advantage in often-congested KL. As the day progresses, street parking might become more challenging, typical for a bustling neighbourhood like Taman Kepong.
For those relying on public transportation, Taman Kepong is serviced by various bus routes, and it's also relatively close to KTM Komuter stations like Kepong or Kepong Sentral. From these stations, a short Grab ride or a local bus connection would likely get you to the restaurant. Being situated in a residential and commercial area, YES 99 Restaurant is a familiar landmark for many in the vicinity. Its central location within Taman Kepong ensures that it's a practical and accessible spot for local residents to drop by for a quick and satisfying breakfast, whether on their way to work or for a leisurely morning meal.
YES 99 Restaurant offers a focused menu with specific services tailored to its primary offerings, catering to the breakfast crowd. While it's not a full-service, multi-cuisine restaurant, its services are efficient and geared towards providing a quick and satisfying meal:
- Dine-in Service: The restaurant provides ample seating for customers to enjoy their meals on-site, evident from it being "almost full" even early in the morning.
- Specialised Noodle Stalls: The establishment operates with primarily "two stalls operating here—one selling Pan Mee, and the other offering Curry Mee and Wantan Mee," ensuring dedicated preparation for each specialty.
- Early Morning Operations: Opens as early as "5:30 am," making it an ideal spot for early risers and those seeking breakfast at dawn.
- Direct Ordering at Stall: Customers are required to "place your order directly at the Pan Mee stall," suggesting a traditional kopitiam style of service where interaction is direct with the stall operators.
- Takeaway Option: While not explicitly mentioned, most local eateries of this nature offer takeaway services for their dishes.
- Basic Beverage Service: Standard kopitiam beverages (e.g., kopi, teh) are usually available, though not specifically highlighted in reviews.
YES 99 Restaurant boasts several key features and highlights that attract its loyal local clientele, particularly those seeking specific noodle dishes in the early hours:
- Extremely Early Opening Hours: The restaurant's 5:30 AM opening time is a significant draw, making it one of the earliest breakfast spots in Taman Kepong. This caters perfectly to shift workers, early commuters, or anyone who enjoys a sunrise meal.
- Specialised Noodle Offerings: The focus on only "two stalls" – one for Pan Mee and another for Curry Mee and Wantan Mee – means each dish is likely prepared by experienced hands, leading to a higher quality product within their niche. The popularity of the Pan Mee suggests this focus pays off.
- Popular Pan Mee: "Most diners seemed to be ordering the Pan Mee," indicating it's a signature dish and a strong crowd-puller. The availability of "hand-pulled Pan Mee" adds to its authenticity.
- Unique Pickled Onion Condiment: The "special pickled onion" served with Pan Mee is a "nice touch" that adds a distinctive flavour profile, setting it apart from standard Pan Mee offerings.
- Peppery Yong Tau Foo Soup: A separate positive mention for "peppery yong tau foo soup" highlights another popular and enjoyable item, suggesting the second stall also has its standout dishes. The seasoning is described as "well seasoned with pepper" and "rather enjoyable."
- Friendly Lady Boss at Pan Mee Stall: The "lady boss is quite friendly," contributing to a welcoming and pleasant ordering experience at the Pan Mee stall.
- Abundant Early Morning Parking: "Plenty of parking spots available along the street" for early weekday visits, a rare and valuable commodity in KL.
While some aspects like chilli sauce and noodle thickness for Pan Mee, or the oiliness of fried beancurd skin, received mixed reviews, the consistent popularity and early opening hours are strong indicators of its community value.
As a local traditional eatery, YES 99 Restaurant typically doesn't offer formal "promotions or special offers" in the contemporary marketing sense like percentage discounts or loyalty programs. Its primary "promotion" lies in its consistent early opening hours and the specific, well-loved dishes it serves. The allure of being one of the few places open at "5:30 am" is in itself a significant offer for its target demographic of early risers and breakfast seekers in Taman Kepong. The consistent crowd, even at early hours, acts as a continuous testament to its value and appeal, making it a self-promoting establishment through word-of-mouth and established reputation.
The "special offer" here is the convenience and access to traditional Malaysian breakfast noodles at unconventional hours, a service highly valued by its regulars. Furthermore, the positive mention of the "peppery yong tau foo soup" suggests a consistent quality that acts as an enduring draw for customers. For local businesses like YES 99 Restaurant, the best "promotion" is often the quality of their food, their reliability, and their ability to fulfill a specific community need. Any informal offers or daily specials would typically be communicated directly at the stalls themselves.

YES 99 Restaurant Reviews
Dropped by for an early breakfast on a weekday, and since it was still quite early (around 7:00am), there were plenty of parking spots available along the street. However, the restaurant was already almost full. There are only two stalls operating here—one selling Pan Mee, and the other offering Curry Mee and Wantan Mee. Most diners seemed to be ordering the Pan Mee, so we decided to try it as well. You’ll need to place your order directly at the Pan Mee stall, and the lady boss is quite friendly. We ordered two bowls of hand-pulled Pan Mee (small: RM9.00 per bowl). Apart from the usual Pan Mee chilli sauce, they also served a special pickled onion, which was a nice touch. Portion sizes are standard, and the ingredients were decent. Unfortunately, we didn’t particularly enjoy the noodles as the dough was too thick for our liking, and the chilli sauce wasn’t very impressive. They added some coriander to the Pan Mee, so if you’re not a fan, be sure to let them know when placing your order. Also, the foreign staff member who served our noodles came across as a bit rude.Cleanliness-wise, the restaurant could definitely do better. The good thing is that this place opens as early as 5:30am, making it ideal for those looking for breakfast at the crack of dawn. Overall, we felt the Pan Mee was just average. We’re curious about the other stall though, so might pop by again next time we're in the area to give it a try.

Oct 06, 2024 · Ee Ling FOOPan Mee with a twist. Simply MUST TRY.Usual suspect, Pan Mee Noodles comes in 3 sizes. Pictured is the “Meet” version ie pulled directly from the dough. I’d try the “Cho Mein” is thick noodle version next. Then, there’s the standard Pan Mee Chilly Sauce which is spicy, sweet & sour. Take 1. Most interestingly, is the pickled onions condiment. Take 2 of this but I was told to Self Serve at the counter. They want you to pile high in 1 disposable sauce container. Then, mix into your bowl.Their Pan Mee Chilly Sauce can be a tad spicy so taste it first. They start at 5.30am & finish by 10.30am. So go early. Closes every Monday.
