Astar Hotel Bukit Bintang Reviews
‼️DO NOT EVER BOOK THIS HOTEL. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.‼️- rude, unprofessional, dishonest receptionist. poor service and hotel- we checked in and he did not give us the room we booked. he put us in a room on ground floor without saying anything where you could hear EVERYTHING. all night staff were chatting and playing videos and walking around loudly. this room should not ever be counted as a hotel room. it felt like an apartment- we complained and he said “our room is taken” and did not give us a refund. he offered a “better room” at 12pm the next day which was a joke.- towels and bed sheets were stained and dirty- walls and floors were disgusting- smelled like cigarette smoke- very loud area and very thin walls- don’t trust reviews on Booking.com, seems like there are lots of “10 stars” for no reason isn’tI have never written a bad review on Google but this experience made me have to.
Apr 22, 2025 · JackieA Starry Stay in Bukit Bintang (Despite the Room Size)My recent stay at the A Star Hotel in Bukit Bintang was a generally positive experience, despite a couple of drawbacks regarding the room. Let me break it down:The Good:Location, Location, Location! This is the A Star's biggest selling point. You're right in the heart of Bukit Bintang, surrounded by shopping malls, restaurants, street food, and entertainment. Getting around is incredibly easy, with excellent access to public transport. I loved being able to step out of the hotel and immediately be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere.Cleanliness: The hotel, including the common areas and my room (despite its shortcomings), was impeccably clean. Housekeeping did a great job, and everything felt fresh and well-maintained.Friendly Staff: The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. From check-in to check-out, everyone I interacted with was polite and accommodating. They were also quick to respond to any queries I had.Good Value: Considering the prime location, the A Star offers decent value for money. It's a budget-friendly option that doesn't compromise on cleanliness or service.Amenities: While I didn't use all of them, the hotel offered a range of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, which was reliable and fast. The Not-So-Good:Room Size and Lack of Windows: This is the major downside. My room was quite small, and unfortunately, it had no windows. While I knew this going in (it was clearly stated in the room description), it did make the room feel a bit claustrophobic. If you're someone who needs natural light and a spacious room, I'd recommend opting for a different room type if available. This particular room was really only suitable for sleeping and showering.Noise Levels (Potentially): Being in such a central location, some noise is to be expected. While I wasn't particularly bothered by it, light sleepers might want to request a room away from the main street.Overall:The A Star Hotel is a great choice for budget-conscious travellers who prioritize location and cleanliness above all else. If you're comfortable with a small, windowless room and plan to spend most of your time exploring Bukit Bintang, then this hotel is a solid option. However, if room size and natural light are important to you, I'd suggest looking at other room types or perhaps considering a slightly higher budget for more spacious accommodations. Despite the room's limitations, my overall experience at the A Star was positive, and I would consider staying there again for a short trip focused on exploring the city.Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars (deducting half a star for the room size and lack of windows).
Feb 14, 2025 · Crizza Joyce CruzThe location is perfect for leisure. But the room is not suitable for more than 2 nights stay. Don't book here if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay on your holidays. Space is absolutely tight. Such a headache!
Feb 17, 2025 · Bradley ChinWe booked 4 nights deluxe king room, no window. 1st night was given room on ground floor next to reception. Very very noisy all through the night. That room should not rent out.Next day request change. Moved upstairs. Better. There is a karaoke goes on till 2am. One night a family talked very loudly on the corridor at 3am, kids screaming too.Bathroom no shower cubicle. Floor stays wet after shower. Yuck!!. Could do with more hooks, chairs, table. Feels cramped n inconvenient. Reasonable clean. Good location for food and mrt.
Nov 23, 2024 · Rose, May En LiuLively street with nightlife and eating places. Room was very basic and not really as described. Certainly no pool or restaurant here. You get what you pay for!
