FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK Introduce
Assalamualaikum and hello from Kuala Lumpur! If you’re like many of us living here or planning a gathering that needs ample space, finding the right accommodation can be a challenge. That’s where FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK comes into the picture. It’s a private guest room that offers a large space, aiming to provide a flexible and accommodating environment for groups and families. Located in the more serene parts of Kuala Lumpur, it promises a different kind of stay compared to the bustling city centre hotels.
FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK is designed for those who prioritize size and the convenience of having multiple areas within a single rental. It’s presented as a homestay, which means you get a more home-like atmosphere rather than a standard hotel room. This concept is particularly appealing for local gatherings, short family vacations, or even for those needing a temporary base while in Kuala Lumpur for various reasons. The idea is to provide a comfortable, self-contained unit where guests can feel at ease.
While we always look for perfection, it's also important to understand the nature of different accommodations. Homestays often provide a more personal touch and a glimpse into local living, which can be a unique experience for many of us who are used to the fast pace of city life. FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK aims to cater to the needs of guests seeking a spacious and private setup, suitable for those who value roominess above all else. Let's delve deeper into what this homestay offers and whether it fits your next need for space in KL.
FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK is situated at No. 17, Lot 570, Kampung Padang Balang, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This location places it in the Gombak district, an area known for its mix of residential neighbourhoods and more suburban feel, yet still within the sprawling boundaries of Kuala Lumpur. Kampung Padang Balang offers a more traditional village setting within the city, which can be a refreshing change from the high-rise concrete jungle of the city centre.
For locals in Kuala Lumpur, this location might be familiar as a more established residential area. It’s generally well-connected for those who have their own transport. While not directly in the heart of the city’s tourist hotspots, its position in Gombak allows for relatively easier access to areas both north and central Kuala Lumpur, depending on traffic conditions. If you're relying on public transportation, it's important to plan your routes as direct rail links might not be immediately at the doorstep, but ride-sharing services like Grab are widely available and can provide convenient access to nearby LRT or MRT stations.
The beauty of staying in an area like Kampung Padang Balang is the opportunity to experience a more authentic local lifestyle. You'll find local eateries, markets, and shops catering to the daily needs of residents, offering a glimpse into the everyday rhythm of life in Kuala Lumpur's more suburban pockets. This can be a great advantage for those who wish to avoid the intense crowds of tourist areas and prefer a more laid-back environment after a day out.
Accessibility to major roads and highways in Kuala Lumpur is generally good from Gombak, which is beneficial for guests travelling by car. This makes it a practical base for exploring different parts of the city and its surrounding areas without being stuck in the immediate downtown congestion. However, as with any part of Kuala Lumpur, it’s always wise to account for peak-hour traffic when planning your journeys. Its location away from the immediate city centre might also mean a quieter environment, which can be a plus for those seeking a peaceful retreat within the bustling metropolis.
FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK aims to provide a range of services and amenities that cater to a comfortable, self-sufficient stay, particularly for larger groups or families. While it operates as a homestay, it strives to offer the conveniences you might expect in a private rental setting.
- Air Conditioning: The homestay is equipped with air conditioning units in multiple areas, aiming to provide comfort throughout the property, especially in Kuala Lumpur's warm climate.
- Television: A television is available for entertainment, though guests should be aware that its functionality might vary as per past feedback.
- Living Area: A designated living area with sofas and a table is provided, offering a communal space for guests to relax and socialize.
- Kitchen Facilities: While not explicitly detailed, homestays typically offer basic kitchen amenities for light meal preparation, though specific items might vary.
- Private Bathrooms: The homestay includes toilet facilities, with features like a bidet spray. Guests should be prepared for potential variations in standard plumbing functionality based on past reviews (e.g., manual flushing, lack of towel hooks).
- Bedding: The accommodation provides sleeping arrangements, though the quantity of additional bedding like blankets and pillows beyond basic "toto" (thin mattress) might be limited as per some feedback.
- Washing Machine: A washing machine is mentioned, which is a convenient amenity for longer stays or for families. However, guests should consider the reported cleanliness status of this appliance.
- Coway Water Filter: A Coway water filter is available, providing access to filtered drinking water, although its service status has been a point of past feedback.
It's important for potential guests to note that while these services are intended to enhance the stay, recent customer feedback has indicated areas for improvement regarding the overall cleanliness and maintenance of some facilities. It is advisable to clarify specifics with the host before booking, especially regarding the operational status and provision of items like extra blankets, pillows, and functional bathroom fixtures.
FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK, as a private guest room experience, offers several distinct features that could be considered highlights, especially for those prioritizing space and a particular type of accommodation in Kuala Lumpur.
- Large and Spacious House: This is arguably the primary highlight. The homestay is described as a "big house" with "large rooms." This ample space is a significant advantage for larger families, groups of friends, or those needing more room to spread out compared to standard hotel rooms. It allows for comfortable communal living and privacy within different sections of the property.
- Multiple Air-Conditioned Areas: The presence of "Aircond in every niche" suggests that various parts of the homestay are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring comfort throughout the property, which is crucial in Kuala Lumpur's tropical climate.
- Aesthetic Furnishings: Some initial feedback mentioned that the "sofa table all looks expensive haha," indicating that some of the furnishings contribute to a pleasant aesthetic in common areas.
- Quiet, Local Neighbourhood Setting: Being located in Kampung Padang Balang offers a departure from the city centre's hustle and bustle. This provides a more peaceful and authentic local residential experience, ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat after a day of exploring or for a more laid-back family gathering.
- Privacy of a Full Unit: As a private guest room/homestay, guests get the entire unit to themselves. This offers a level of privacy and flexibility that is not typically found in shared accommodations or standard hotel rooms.
- Proximity to Local Amenities: In a residential area, guests have easy access to local shops, eateries, and services that cater to daily needs, offering a glimpse into the local lifestyle and potentially more affordable dining options compared to tourist areas.
It's worth noting that while the potential for these features is high, recent customer reviews have highlighted significant concerns regarding cleanliness and maintenance, which may impact the overall experience of these highlights. Prospective guests are encouraged to communicate directly with the host to ascertain the current condition and improvements made.

For us, the residents of Kuala Lumpur, or those from other states looking for a convenient and spacious place to stay for a family gathering, a short break, or even a temporary base, FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK in Gombak presents a unique proposition. While it has received mixed feedback, understanding its intended purpose helps us see its potential suitability.
Firstly, the sheer size of the homestay is a significant draw. Finding a large private space that can accommodate big families or groups for events like kenduris, family reunions, or a casual weekend get-together can be challenging and expensive in typical city hotels. FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK offers that much-needed roominess, allowing everyone to comfortably gather, socialize, and have their own space. This is often a primary consideration for Malaysian families who travel together.
Secondly, its location in Kampung Padang Balang, Gombak, offers a more localized and perhaps quieter experience compared to the bustling city centre. For many of us, escaping the constant traffic and noise of central KL, even for a short while, can be refreshing. It allows us to experience a more authentic suburban vibe of Kuala Lumpur, complete with local eateries and shops that cater to everyday needs. If you have your own transport, navigating to and from this area is generally straightforward, making it a practical base for exploring different parts of KL without being caught in the immediate downtown congestion.
The concept of a homestay also appeals to our local preferences for a more "at home" feeling. Having access to living areas and potentially basic kitchen facilities gives us the flexibility to prepare simple meals or have a relaxed evening in, just like at home. This can be more comfortable for families with young children or elderly members.
However, it is crucial for us as potential guests to approach FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK with realistic expectations, especially concerning cleanliness and maintenance, as highlighted by previous reviews. For a true local, the ability to communicate directly with the owner and clarify the current state of the property before booking can mitigate these concerns. If the reported issues have been addressed, this homestay could indeed offer a very practical, spacious, and value-for-money option for group stays, especially for those seeking a less conventional, more homely experience within the metropolitan area of Kuala Lumpur.

FATIN HOMESTAY GOMBAK Reviews
1) A lot of facilities: Aircond in every niche, TV is there (but can't be opened), sofa table all looks expensive haha2) What's not the best is the comfort that people say is crunchy, it's really not awake. Dusty house, many sawang. The air conditioner smells like after people have finished smoking. The rooms are big but there is only 1 toto, blankets & pillows are not available. The state-of-the-art toilet has a spray bidet but you have to fill the flush water yourself 🤣, there is no hook to hang towels, clothes, toiletries etc. After dropping the towel that I brought with me until it was wet with oranges (that's why I want to leave this review). The shower is broken. The toilet is not ablution friendly. Coway feels strange (service record 2020) 🤔. There is no Qibla direction indicator. We pray in the direction of the qibla during the day at 11 o'clock, check the qibla at night at 1 o'clock 😭. There is only 1 aircond remote, the aircond needs to be close to 10 units 🤣. All rooms do not have trash cans.Need to improve the quality and cleanliness of the homestay. It is only then that the customer feels it is worth paying and can recommend to other contacts, at the same time advancing the owner's business. Thanks
May 03, 2025 · Hanim ZulkipliBig house, but dirty. The house is dusty, the fan is dirty, the toilet is dirty, there are many lizards in the house, the sheets are dusty, the air conditioner is dirty, the house smells musty, the washing machine is dirty. Need to be more careful about cleanliness. Paid RM400 last night but not worth it.
