OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG Introduce
Hello there, Kuala Lumpur locals! Are you on the hunt for an extremely budget-friendly place to stay right in the heart of our bustling city? Perhaps you're a student looking for a short-term, affordable solution for an internship, or you're planning a quick, low-cost staycation to explore more of KL's vibrant nightlife and shopping districts without breaking the bank. Then, OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG might just be the spot for you. This hostel offers a unique, no-frills experience for those who prioritize location and affordability above all else.
OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG operates on the premise of providing basic, communal accommodation in an unbeatable central location. While it’s designed to be kind to your wallet, it’s important to understand that a hostel experience is different from a hotel. It focuses on shared spaces and a communal atmosphere, which can be great for meeting new people, even if they're fellow Malaysians exploring their own city. This type of accommodation is particularly suitable for solo travellers or small groups of friends who are adventurous and are spending most of their time outside, exploring everything KL has to offer.
As a local, you might be considering a stay at a hostel for a different kind of experience – maybe to save on daily commutes during a short work assignment in the city centre, or simply to immerse yourself in the backpacker culture without actually leaving home. The reviews suggest a mixed experience, highlighting both the definite advantage of its location and some points to consider regarding shared living. It’s a place for those who are adaptable and who value being right in the thick of Kuala Lumpur’s action, offering a practical and economical base for your urban adventures.
---The biggest drawing card for OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG is undoubtedly its incredible location. You'll find it on the 4th floor of a building at Jln Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This address places you directly on Jalan Bukit Bintang, one of Kuala Lumpur's most famous and busiest thoroughfares. For us locals, this means immediate access to a world of shopping, dining, and entertainment right at your fingertips.
Imagine being able to step out and find yourself surrounded by iconic shopping malls such as Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Lot 10, Fahrenheit88, and Sungei Wang Plaza, all within easy walking distance. For food enthusiasts, the renowned Jalan Alor, famous for its bustling atmosphere and an incredible array of local hawker delights, is just a short stroll away. This area truly comes alive at night, offering endless options for late-night supper or vibrant evening outings.
The hostel’s strategic position also provides excellent connectivity via Kuala Lumpur’s robust public transportation network. The **Bukit Bintang MRT and Monorail stations** are both very close by, usually within a 5-10 minute walk. These stations offer seamless and efficient connections to almost every major part of the city. You can easily reach KL Sentral (the main transportation hub), KLCC (home to the majestic Petronas Twin Towers), Chinatown (approximately 10 minutes walk, as noted in reviews), and countless other attractions without having to worry about traffic or parking. This superb accessibility makes it incredibly convenient for locals to reach the hostel from any part of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, and equally easy to explore the city once checked in.
Being on the 4th floor of a building within a busy commercial area, guests should be prepared for an urban setting. The common area reportedly being in a "parking lot" indicates a very functional and repurposed space, reinforcing the hostel's budget-friendly nature and focus on location.

---For us, the residents of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG offers a distinct and highly suitable option, particularly if your primary considerations are budget and an unbeatable central location. While hostels cater to a specific type of traveller, there are several scenarios where this particular spot can be a great fit for locals.
Firstly, if you're a student or a young professional needing a very affordable temporary base for an internship, project, or an event in the city centre, this hostel provides a cost-effective alternative to daily commutes or more expensive accommodations. The money saved on lodging can then be spent on experiencing more of KL's attractions, dining, or shopping.
Secondly, for locals interested in a "staycation" that involves deep immersion in the Bukit Bintang and Chinatown areas, but without the usual hotel price tag, this hostel is ideal. Imagine spending your days exploring the malls, feasting at Jalan Alor, or experiencing the nightlife, and then returning to a super central, budget-friendly place to rest. The excellent public transport connectivity means you can easily reach the hostel from any part of KL via MRT or Monorail, completely eliminating the need for a car and the hassle of city parking.
While the communal living aspects and some operational quirks (like shared bathroom ratios or AC schedules) mentioned in reviews require an adaptable mindset, the core benefit of being right on Jalan Bukit Bintang far outweighs these for the right individual. The presence of kitchen facilities also offers the chance to save money on food, a common concern for budget-conscious locals. Ultimately, for those prioritizing location and cost, and who are comfortable with a shared living environment, OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG provides a practical, strategically located, and genuinely affordable way for us Malaysians to experience the vibrant heart of our own capital city.

OA ThE FACTORY AT BUKIT BINTANG Reviews
The owner quite nice actually the benefit of this place is only the location is within the KL area. However, the cons of this hostel is a lot.- quality of the guest is very bad. some even a bit noise also cannot be tolerated at night and keep complaining. (except for snoring.)- although it say 10 people dormitory, but it is more than that (around 10 bottom beds + 2 up down beds = 14 beds).- The room is not soundproof and there is no any windows. but, they always turn off the aircond in the morning. So the room will be hot until check-in time.- If we stay inside the main office area, there are 5 room with total 32 peoples and we need to share the 2 toilet for pee ans shower. significantly no enough toilet
Jun 15, 2025 · Tan Yuan JueIt was a very pleasant stay, thank you. This hostel is app.10 minutes walk from Chinatown on the 4th floor of a shopping mall or whatever it is,their common area is in the parking lot. Facility is very clean, beds(in female dorm and also 5bed dorm) were comfortable, wifi and AC worked fine(better in the female dorm). There is even a kitchen where I was allowed to cook(hot plate is locked,I needed to ask permission to use it), fridge with freezer, proper water filter, water boiler,..The owner/manager Kevin seemed to be taking a great care of it and its customers.I felt really good there and will definitely be willing to stay there again. Thank you.
May 31, 2025 · jerry veveFor their price, I got so much. The owner was very kind, I arrived in KL with a bust ankle due to an accident. Couldnt really find the building at first but he picked me up from across the street! And give me some advice for medics and stuffs. The room was clean and bathroom was also clean. I had a good time overall. Thank you so much!
Mar 07, 2025 · VidiTERRIBLE PLACE!!I’ve been backpacking for 4 months and this is by far the worst place I’ve stayed.3/5 of the rooms are attached to the kitchen (which is too disgusting to even make a coffee) and common area which are extremely loud. There are quiet hours, but they are not enforced at all. People are right outside your door nearly 24/7 so there’s especially no privacy if you’re coming as a couple. It does not feel like your own private room.During my entire stay there were people loudly washing dishes, talking on the phone and playing loud videos until 12am every night. The reception desk is just around the corner, but the staff did not care to do any thing. The bathrooms are nasty and not well kept. I had to ask the staff to refill the toilet paper which he said he couldn’t do because he doesn’t have the house keeping key…They’re typical SEA wet bathrooms, but dry shoes are not provided. When I asked the host about this, he said I’m not allowed to bring my shoes into the building and would have to buy the flip flops they sell if I don’t want to walk barefooted.I brought my own flip flops into the bathroom anyway because I didn’t want to buy theirs and the host flipped out at me, going into the bathroom right after I came out and yelling about the dirt my shoes left, grabbing the bidet sprayer and telling me I have to clean it. The guy was a total control freak and we tried to avoid him as much as possible.Additionally, everyday a staff member would try to open our door while we were there. I asked him about this and he said he wanted to see if the room was available. Despite this, I found someone else’s reservation details booked for my room and date taped to outside my door. And the price was less than what I paid. I asked the host about this and he dodged everything and kept saying “It’s okay” over and over. When I asked why they were charged less, he mentioned something about them seeing me as a white man and charging more…What a mess of a place, STAY AWAY!!! And did I mention it’s literally in a parking lot??
Oct 07, 2024 · DannyI spend 3 nights in this Hostel and i would recommend to everyone to come here. The owner is so nice and helpful and recommend me some places to go. The rest of the staff are really nice as well. Everything is clean, you have small kitchen that you can use. The bed is comfortable and you feel it very private. Is really near to the center and street food.
