Raub Durian Orchard

Raub Durian Orchard, 27600 Raub, Pahang, Malaysia

3.0
A little further north from Bentong is this friendly durian farm that welcomes tourists and most trees here are musang king. But do try the Tekka, D24, and Hor Lor to widen your palate. Some low hanging durians to take pictures with and well trodden trails for a stroll. Picking durian is allowed and you’ll be given a basket to pick to your hearts content and freshness is guaranteed. If you’re lucky, you get some numb taste durian, the epitome of eating freshly fallen durian at a farm. Slope is quite steep but doable with a nice view at the top. Recommend picking the odd shape curled up musang king and medium-small ones for more intense bitter, dry and sticky texture. Big Tekka (2kg+) is the most difficult durian to open but they have a durian opener for anyone to open a durian easily. Big Tekka taste stronger with kampong grassy fruitiness. Price is about the same markets but the extra farm experience is worth the trip. - Andrew Toh
