Sekeping Jugra (Old Klang Road) Introduce
For those of us living in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, finding a unique space for various occasions, be it a day party with friends, a photoshoot, or even a brief escape from the city's hustle, often involves looking beyond conventional hotels. Sekeping Jugra, located along Old Klang Road, offers a distinct take on accommodation that, while unconventional, has garnered attention for its raw, "unfinished" aesthetic. It's a property that aims for a nature-inspired retreat feel, inviting guests to experience a different kind of stay right within the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Sekeping Jugra is part of the well-known "Sekeping Resorts" collection, famous for their minimalist and rustic properties. This particular location attempts to carry that torch, offering multiple courtyards and rooms that lean into an industrial, almost abandoned aesthetic. While the intention is to provide a unique, design-led experience, it's important for local guests to understand the specific nature of this property. It’s a place that prioritizes a raw, stripped-back environment, which can be quite appealing for those seeking an unconventional backdrop for gatherings or creative projects. We aim to provide an honest overview, helping our fellow Kuala Lumpur residents decide if Sekeping Jugra aligns with their expectations for a local "hotel" experience. This isn't your typical polished, full-service hotel, but rather a space designed for a very specific niche of guests looking for something out of the ordinary.
---Sekeping Jugra is conveniently located at 3, Jalan Jugra, 58100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This area is known for its mix of residential zones, commercial hubs, and eateries, making it a lively yet accessible spot.
The accessibility of Sekeping Jugra is a significant advantage for KL residents. Jalan Jugra itself is a quieter offshoot from the main Old Klang Road, offering a sense of seclusion while still being incredibly close to major thoroughfares. This means that reaching the property is relatively straightforward from various parts of Kuala Lumpur, including Petaling Jaya, Cheras, and the city centre. Public transportation options are also reasonably accessible; while there isn't a direct LRT or MRT station at its doorstep, bus routes along Old Klang Road are frequent, and ride-sharing services are readily available. For those driving, the proximity to major roads like the Federal Highway and MEX Highway makes it a convenient destination. This ensures that whether you're planning a day event or an overnight stay, getting to Sekeping Jugra is relatively hassle-free for residents across Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. The location balances being central enough for city dwellers to access easily, yet offers a unique environment that feels distinct from the typical urban landscape.

Its primary appeal for locals lies in its strong suitability as a venue for "a day's party with friends by the pool" or simply "a day's hangout." The property's numerous "photogenic spots" make it an excellent choice for those looking to host events with a unique aesthetic, whether it's a birthday celebration, a small gathering, or even a creative photoshoot. However, it is crucial for Kuala Lumpur locals considering an overnight stay, especially with families or seniors, to be aware of the specific challenges highlighted in guest reviews. These include issues with dampness, potential mold, mosquitoes, and certain safety concerns regarding structural elements. The mattresses have also been noted for being uncomfortable for overnight stays. Therefore, while the idea of a nature-inspired retreat is appealing, its execution leans more towards a rugged experience.
In conclusion, if you're a local in KL looking for a highly photogenic location for a day-time gathering, a unique party venue, or simply a different kind of "hangout" spot with friends, Sekeping Jugra (Old Klang Road) could be a fantastic and memorable choice. Sekeping Jugra (Old Klang Road) Reviews
Honest Review: Sekeping Jugra Stay ExperienceIf you’re considering a stay at Sekeping Jugra, you might want to manage your expectations. While the website and past reviews hint at a unique, nature-inspired retreat, the reality is a little different. The space itself feels unfinished and outdated, with multiple courtyards and rooms that, unfortunately, carry a noticeable dampness in the air. Signs of mould were visible on furniture like sofas and chairs, and we even encountered an unwelcome guest—a dead cockroach beside the nightstand, with another scurrying through a crack in the wall. And yes, mosquitoes are very much part of the experience, so be prepared. That said, we do appreciate the efforts of the caretaker, who ensured clean bed sheets, towels, and basic amenities like garbage bags. While the intention behind Sekeping Jugra is commendable, the execution leaves much to be desired. If you’re up for a rugged, almost abandoned aesthetic, this might be your vibe. Otherwise, you may want to explore other options.
Feb 01, 2025 · Mo SidAlthough Sekeping Resorts are well known for their rustic properties, Sekeping Jugra, though there are rustic elements around, actually borders on disrepair rather than rustic. This place is probably good for a day's party with friends by the pool, with many photogenic spots around the property. However, if the intention is a larger gathering for families with an overnight stay, I CANNOT recommend this property. There are multiple elements that are safety hazards (e.g. Balcony sitting with access from a parapet that had no railings, makeshift steps from loose bricks due to large height differential in steps) and potentially health hazards (e.g. Peeling paint from the tiles that were painted over, mosquito covers that are broken and thus defeating their purpose, an exposed concrete toilet bowl that is unlikely to be sanitary). Couple that together with walls that had pencil graffiti over peeling paint, a living hall that is not fit to sit on due to an abundance in dirt that would leave the soles of your feet extremely dirty, and a strong, musky smell from potentially hidden mold, you have a recipe for potential injury or illnesses for those sensitive to mosquitoes, dust or mold.If you're just having a day's hangout with your friends, probably nice lounging by the pool or the outdoor dining area. But if you're intending to spend the night, be prepared for mattresses that are so worn that you are literally sleeping on springs while being served as a buffet to mozzies. Absolutely not recommended if you have kids or seniors in your company.
Jan 31, 2025 · Chen Way SiewWe booked the whole villa for family gathering! We had great stay! A beautiful and rustic place
Apr 27, 2025 · Diviyaa Rane RaveendranHad a girls' weekend away, and this place was so lovely to do just that with 10 adventurous people. So near the city, with a private pool all to ourselves. The bathrooms were lavish, and the kitchen very well equipped. The only thing that made me feel a 'little' uncomfortable would be the bed frames made out of cages? I knocked my feet into them a couple of times, and they are not the most pleasant things to look at. Other than that, comfortable beds, a nice hall/common room, books to read. Nice, nice, NICE!
Jan 24, 2022 · Hansini ThedchanamoorthyWe absolutely loved our stay here at Sekeping Jugra for a night. The rooms are bright and cosy. Very good architecture and design. The pool is just a lovely sight. Bathroom was AMAZING (who doesn't love semi outdoor shower). I would recommend Sekeping to those who love being surrounded by greenery view while still appreciating the basic amenities that the property provides (shampoo & body wash, air conditioning, drinking water, coffee 3 in 1 etc). A caretaker was around in case you needed anything, which was a nice touch. Perfect place for friends birthday night gathering/sleepover too. Highly recommend staying here!
