Serendah Recreational Waterfall Introduce
Welcome, Selangor locals! Are you looking for a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life without venturing too far? We have a hidden gem right here in our backyard that's perfect for a refreshing day out. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the **Serendah Recreational Waterfall** offers a serene natural retreat, ideal for families and anyone looking to reconnect with nature.
This beautiful waterfall is a picturesque spot, providing breathtaking scenery and a peaceful ambiance. It's a fantastic place to relax, enjoy the sounds of nature, and spend quality time with loved ones. While it's undergoing some exciting improvements, its natural charm remains undeniable, making it a beloved spot for those in the know.
The Serendah Recreational Waterfall is conveniently located at **Kampung Orang Asli Serendah, 48200 Serendah, Selangor, Malaysia**. Its address places it within easy reach for many residents across Selangor.
If you're planning a visit, it's worth noting that while the main roads leading to Serendah are generally smooth, the final stretch to the waterfall involves a journey through Kampung Orang Asli. This approximately 3km drive is primarily a single-lane and narrow road. We recommend exercising extra caution, especially as there might be stray dogs basking in the middle of the road. Your safety is paramount, so please drive slowly and be aware of your surroundings.
Upon arrival, you'll find a designated car park area. While the space might be somewhat limited, it is organized and features properly marked lots, which helps with orderly parking. From the car park, the waterfall is less than a five-minute walk, making it very accessible once you've arrived.
As of our most recent information, the Serendah Recreational Waterfall focuses on providing a natural recreational experience. Here's what you can expect in terms of services:
- **Natural Scenery and Relaxation:** The primary "service" is the stunning natural environment itself, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the outdoors.
- **Designated Parking:** There are organized and marked parking lots available for visitors.
- **Recreational Area:** The site is designed for recreational activities like picnicking and enjoying the waterfall.
Please be aware that while there seems to be ongoing work and improvements, certain facilities like public toilets might still be undergoing renovation or are temporarily closed. Recent visitor feedback indicates that newly renovated toilets were observed but were still locked as of May 2025. It's advisable to prepare accordingly for your visit, especially regarding washing and changing facilities, as these might not be readily available.
The Serendah Recreational Waterfall boasts several compelling features that make it a worthwhile destination:
- **Beautiful Waterfall:** The star attraction is, of course, the waterfall itself, which is described as pretty decent and nice, offering a refreshing sight and sound.
- **Lush Greenery:** The area is surrounded by abundant lush greenery, creating a soothing and natural ambiance that enhances the sense of peace and tranquility.
- **Serene Natural View:** Visitors consistently praise the serene natural views, making it an ideal spot for photography or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.
- **Family-Friendly Environment:** The presence of a playground makes it a perfect spot for families with children, providing entertainment for the little ones while adults relax.
- **Potential for Improvement:** Ongoing work to improve the area suggests a commitment to enhancing the visitor experience, with hopes for better amenities in the future.
While the natural beauty is undeniable, recent observations note that some resting huts/shelters might be in a deplorable state, and there could be debris from fallen branches and dead leaves. There have also been reports of waterlogged areas. These are aspects that visitors should be mindful of, though the core natural allure of the waterfall remains intact.
Currently, there are no official promotions or special offers publicly advertised for the Serendah Recreational Waterfall. However, some visitors have reported a collection of what appears to be a park entrance fee of RM3 per car upon entry. It's important to note that there might not be any official notices, displays, or tickets provided for this fee. Visitors should be prepared for this possibility.
As the site seems to be undergoing upgrades, any future promotions or official entrance fees would likely be announced by the local authorities or management once the improvements are complete. For now, the primary "offer" is the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful natural setting at a minimal potential cost.

It is recommended to call ahead if you have specific questions about the current status of facilities or any other concerns, especially given the ongoing upgrading works reported by recent visitors.
The Serendah Recreational Waterfall is undeniably a beautiful spot that holds immense appeal for locals in Selangor. Despite some current challenges regarding facilities, its core offerings—a serene natural view, lush greenery, and a generally peaceful environment—make it an ideal escape.
For families, it offers a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with nature and enjoy outdoor play, especially with the presence of a playground. For individuals or groups seeking a quiet place to unwind, meditate, or simply enjoy a picnic amidst nature's embrace, the waterfall provides that much-needed tranquility. It’s a convenient location for a day trip, avoiding long travel times and offering a refreshing change of scenery from urban landscapes.
While improvements are clearly underway, as evidenced by recent renovations (even if facilities like toilets are still awaiting full public access), the potential for this spot to become an even more fantastic local amenity is high. The local government, MAJLIS Perbandaran Selayang, is hopefully looking into these matters to ensure the park reaches its full potential, making it even more suitable and comfortable for visitors.
In essence, the Serendah Recreational Waterfall offers a unique blend of natural beauty and accessibility, making it a perfect spot for Selangor residents to enjoy a peaceful and refreshing day out, immerse themselves in nature, and create lasting memories without straying too far from home. It's a testament to the natural wonders that exist right on our doorstep, waiting to be explored and appreciated by the local community.

Serendah Recreational Waterfall Reviews
The waterfall is a beautiful spot, offering a serene natural view with lush greenery and a playground, making it a perfect place for families. The scenery is breathtaking, and it's a great spot to relax and enjoy nature. However, one downside is the lack of toilet facilities, which could be inconvenient for visitors. That said, there seems to be ongoing work to improve the place, so hopefully, amenities like toilets will be added soon. Overall, a lovely location for a peaceful day out. (Visited on 25/12/24)
Dec 27, 2024 · Md KhanWe visited today 25 May 2025 , on a Sunday . Is a relatively light traffic from Subang Jaya to Serendah however, from the main road turning into the Waterfalls , the 3km drive via Kampung Orang asli is mostly single lane and narrow road . So please take extra precautions as there plenty stray dogs basking in the sun In the Middle of the road .😢As we were reaching the waterfalls , there’s a small hut and a Couple were collecting what seems to be park entrance fee of RM3 per car however there’s no notice or display of any kind NOR did we receive any tickets etc .There’s proper designated car park area , quite limited parking space but organised and properly marked lots . Abs is less then 5 minutes walk to the waterfallTo our horror the public toilets though seems just newly renovated , are still closed to the public . There’s notice that the park were being upgraded since September 2024. So for those of your who is planning to have a picnic or a dip on the waters PLEASE be warned that’s there’s no toilets , there’s no place to wash and change .The deplorable state of the resting huts / shelters and debris from fallen branches and dead leaves. There’s seems to be bad water logged too .I do NOT recommend coming , even though the water fall is pretty decent and nice however there’s no toilets etc and it’s unimaginable where the visitors are relieving themselves 😜 ( we see lots of the soaking in the stream 🤣🤣🤣🤣 )I sincerely hope MAJLIS Perbandaran Selayang , will look into this as the newly renovated toilets seems all done however it’s still pas locked and out of bounds for Park visitorsMy photographs are as of 25 May 2025
May 25, 2025 · Yat LiCould be maintained better. So many rubbish and mud especially after rain. Toilets were closed, not sure why. I had to change in the car being all wet. Facilities are so below the par. The playground is unusable. Since they charging RM3 per car. They can maintain the place better. Visitors also just throw the rubbish everywhere. I myself saw a lady just throwing pampers there on the staircase after taking it off from her baby.
Jun 08, 2025 · Aswini AshLovely waterfall with playground, washroom and sitting areas all around. It is not a high waterfall but still impressive nonetheless. The facilities around the waterfall could really do with an upgrade however to properly complement the beauty of the waterfall - the surrounding facilities are so rundown and in desperate need of repainting and renovation to do the waterfall justice. It looks like there are some upgrading works going on as of October 2024 so hopefully the next time we return the surroundings will look more pleasant.
Oct 13, 2024 · Lynn TanArrived at 8 am, and it was Thaipusam. This is my second attempt as 1st attempt last school holiday failed due to no parking and a large crowd as I arrived at 10 am.Surprised by not many crowds, but after a while, I got it: why not crowded?1. The toilet facility is not available2. Ongoing construction for upgrading, making the ground park dirty and messy3. most of the Gazebo is dirty, and the place looks like it is running down without management. You can enjoy nature and the waterfall, but you need to bring your tent since the changing room is unavailable.
