Soho Town Hotel Introduce
Selamat datang ke Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur! As locals, we truly appreciate the vibrant energy and cultural tapestry of our beloved city. If you're on the lookout for a hotel that offers an incredibly central location and affordability, especially if you want to be right in the heart of Chinatown, then Soho Town Hotel is definitely a place to consider. It provides a straightforward and practical lodging option for those who prioritize exploring our city's dynamic streets over luxury amenities.
For us, the people of Kuala Lumpur, finding a hotel that puts us right in the midst of action, particularly in a historic and bustling area like Chinatown, is a significant advantage. Soho Town Hotel positions guests directly on Jalan Sultan, placing you immediately within the vibrant atmosphere of Petaling Street and its surroundings. This makes it incredibly easy to step out and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and tastes of this iconic district. Its main appeal lies in its prime location, which is a major draw for anyone planning to spend most of their time experiencing the city's pulse.
It's important for us to approach budget-friendly options in a bustling city like KL with realistic expectations. Soho Town Hotel offers a very accessible price point, which makes it a viable choice for travelers who are conscious of their spending. As highlighted by some customer reviews, rooms can be quite affordable, making it a practical option for solo travelers, backpackers, or those on a tighter budget who primarily need a convenient place to rest after a full day of urban exploration. Understanding that it’s a no-frills establishment helps in appreciating its core value: an affordable bed in an excellent location.
While some past guests have shared specific feedback regarding cleanliness, room amenities (like a single electrical socket), noise, and the demeanor of certain staff members, it's also worth noting that others have found the overall experience "okay" or even "good." This suggests that individual experiences can vary. One local review even offers a pragmatic perspective, noting that the direct communication style of some staff might just be "how people around here usually communicate." This highlights an understanding of local nuances, where directness can sometimes be mistaken for unfriendliness, but helpfulness is still present. It’s about weighing these points against the benefits of its prime location and cost-effectiveness. For a quick visit where you're constantly out and about, this hotel can certainly serve its purpose for many local adventurers or those hosting budget-conscious visitors who crave a central base.
The undisputed highlight of Soho Town Hotel is its incredible Location and Accessibility. This prime positioning allows guests to easily explore the area on foot, soaking in the unique charm and dynamic atmosphere of Chinatown at any time of day or night. It’s a dream location for street food enthusiasts, cultural explorers, and those who love to wander and discover hidden gems.
The hotel boasts excellent accessibility to Kuala Lumpur's comprehensive public transport network. The Pasar Seni MRT and LRT Station is just a very short walk away, offering seamless connections to almost every major part of the city. Whether you're heading to the gleaming towers of KLCC, the shopping paradise of Bukit Bintang, or the transportation hub of KL Sentral, reaching your destination is incredibly convenient. The review mentioning "Very Easy to get a grabcar" further confirms its accessibility for modern ride-hailing services, adding another layer of convenience.
Furthermore, major landmarks such as Central Market, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Merdeka Square, and the National Mosque are all within comfortable walking distance or a very quick public transport ride. The presence of "many restaurants and pharmacy right next to it" also adds immense practical value. This central location genuinely minimizes travel time, allowing guests to maximize their exploration of Kuala Lumpur and truly immerse themselves in city life without logistical headaches. While street parking in this busy area is scarce, the excellent public transport and ride-hailing options effectively negate this concern for most visitors.

Soho Town Hotel Reviews
Everything is good to me. The staff is kind. But the middle-aged reception man who who usually works at night shift is not so friendly. The woman whom I think is the boss is very rude when speaking to Customers. I don't know how she responds to other customer but when she gets angry she speaks some in English and Chinese in a very cruel wayThe room has only one electrical socket which is very inconvenient. They don't provide water bottle everyday as long as coffee or tea. But they have a public water machine in the hall way.But on the other hand the hotel located at a very friendly for traffic. Very Easy to get a grabcar. Near many restaurants and pharmacy right next to it..
Feb 05, 2024 · Đông Nguyễn HữuThe three of us stayed here for 8 days (my sister was having eye surgery at IKONIK) paying up front using Traveloka. Tourists will be asked to pay RM10 per room per night as per the regulation written on Traveloka. We got a single bed and a double bed for a reasonable price. After staying for more than a week around this area, I would say this is how people around here usually communicate with other people. They may sound harsh or look unfriendly, but that's how people around here are lol. The good thing is they still say thank you and help you when you need it. That's all that matters. The hotel was okay, overall, imo. However some people may say otherwise due to the lack of cleanliness and the fact that there aren't any windows so the air flow was really bad. The moment we opened the door, it was really hot and smelled moldy. My solution would be to open the door and air out the AC every day for about 30-60 minutes. The whole 8 days didn't feel so bad that way.As soon as we arrived, there were bits of hair everywhere lol, as if the staff didn't clean the room as well as they should have. Plus the shampoo dispenser was broken so the shampoo leaked onto the floor... My sister thought it was blood or something lol 😆 Well, looking at the price, that was understandable. My solution would be cleaning up a bit after airing out the AC, of course only if you are inclined to do so. I tend to look for the solution than complain all the time 🤣The staff were pretty friendly and we could change the towels daily (we changed per 2 days because the towels were really easy to dry). We took out the trash and changed the trash bag daily. Water was almost always available in the dispenser in the hallway. The place is inside Chinatown so expect to find a lot of non-halal food around here. However, just go right and you will see a bunch of stands and restos selling halal food. Btw there are 2 restos that I like on Jalan Sultan: +60 MyHub and Ma La Tang. Try them ❤️ Make sure you bring enough cash because a lot of places here don't accept cards or DuitNow. Sad.The Wi-Fi was top notch! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Genshin played at about 100-120ms delay at most.Funny thing happened one time after the heavy rain. The rooms all had blackout except the hallways, lol. It was resolved in 15mins though, so all was well. Some people may find this very inconvenient but I think it was a funny occurrence! 😚If you have more budget, better go stay somewhere else like Floresta Hotel Chinatown just 100m away (other places in the area either didn't have 3 persons room available or too expensive for us at the moment of our visit). If not, then this hotel is not that bad a choice. You might even find something that can only be found here lol (such as the weird smell at the lobby - I think it was disinfectant... idk 🤔). Not for drama queens, for sure.
Oct 10, 2023 · Paramitha NuraprilianiThe price is very affordable for a hotel that is located in the heart of Chinatown. Only a shory walk to jalan Petaling. Clean room, friendly receptionist.
Jul 12, 2024 · Ben AliUnfriendly receptionist. It's a budget hotel but the fee is almost RM100. There is no free WiFi .The cleanliness of the hotel is not very good, just satisfactory. Ask the receptionist for a clothes iron, he says there is none and asks us to find it ourselves on the stairs. On the stairs we could see something shameful being done where it shouldn't be. This is my first and last time staying at this hotel. Very nauseating.
Sep 08, 2022 · Nurhafizah JujueAll the receptionists have zero customer service, they don't greet, they dont answer your greeting, all are frowning and not helpful except the supervisor. The linen is not clean, stained and has hair.If you have to stay for one night so be it but don't consider this your stay place in KL specially that there are several decent places for cheaper in the same street.
