---The Hill Resort is strategically located at PT 21090, Jalan Kuala Lurah Ulu Chemperoh, Janda Baik, 28750, Pahang, Malaysia. For us Pahangians, and indeed for many from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Janda Baik is a highly favored destination known for its cool climate, lush rainforests, and serene ambiance. This location places The Hill Resort amidst the natural beauty that defines Janda Baik, offering a peaceful retreat away from urban noise.
The resort is situated on "more than an acre of hillside land" at an altitude of "1,600 feet," promising refreshing mountain air and amazing views. While it's in a naturally secluded area amidst "secluded village homes and little farms," Janda Baik itself is relatively accessible. Major highways connect to Bentong, from where a picturesque drive leads up to the Janda Baik area. While specific directions to Jalan Kuala Lurah Ulu Chemperoh would best be confirmed with the resort or via GPS, its presence within Janda Baik ensures a scenic journey.
It's important to note that, as a hillside resort, guests should be prepared for some physical activity. Reviewers mention the need to "climb stairs to go to the room," indicating that the chalets are perched on a hill, offering elevated views but requiring some effort to reach. There is no luggage-carrying service, so guests should be mindful of this when packing. However, the reward for this climb is the breathtaking scenery and tranquility that define the resort.
Despite being nestled in nature, The Hill Resort is not entirely isolated. Food options for dining out or takeaway are reportedly "available 5 - 10 minutes away," providing convenience for meals beyond the resort's offerings. This balance of seclusion and accessibility makes it an attractive option for locals seeking a quick, refreshing getaway.
---The Hill Resort aims to provide a comfortable and engaging experience for its guests, blending nature's tranquility with thoughtful amenities. Based on customer feedback and common resort offerings, here are the key services you can expect:
- Spacious and Comfortable Accommodation: The resort offers "very spacious and comfortable room for six people," typically with a king bed and two bunk beds per chalet (max 7 with additional mattress). This makes it ideal for families or groups traveling together. Each chalet is also equipped with air conditioning, fans, and a large balcony.
- Delicious Breakfast: Guests highly praise the "very delicious breakfast," with a specific mention of "nasi lemak sambal ayam." Complimentary breakfast is provided for every guest, setting a positive tone for the day.
- Swimming Pool Access: The resort features a "salt water pool," including a separate "pool for the kiddies." While not "so big," it's generally sufficient for guests, especially given the limited number of chalets. The pool is open 24 hours (children not to be left unattended).
- Shared Kitchen Facilities: There is a "fully-equipped shared kitchen" available for guests. This allows for self-catering, including hot pot (free with reservation) and BBQ (RM20 per night, charcoal not supplied). Cooking is allowed until 11 am on checkout day.
- Complimentary Coffee/Tea: Guests can "make your coffee anytime here, either at your pool or your room," indicating readily available tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
- Wellness Programs and Activities: The resort offers or has plans for various wellness activities, including traditional full body massage (aromatherapy), all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trips, treks to waterfalls, wellness/yoga/sound therapy retreats, ice baths, and meditation sessions.
- Event Space: An outdoor event lawn (3,500 sq ft) is available for small weddings or other gatherings, adding to the versatility of the resort.
- Free WiFi: Guests enjoy free WiFi throughout their stay, ensuring connectivity.
- On-Site Parking: There is enough parking space inside the property for 2 cars per chalet, with instructions for additional cars.
- Basic In-Room Amenities: Rooms come with towels, fridge, glasses, table, hair dryer, electric kettle, and ice bucket.
The Hill Resort boasts several distinctive features and highlights that contribute to its charm and appeal, making it a unique destination for locals seeking a refreshing and immersive nature experience in Janda Baik.
- Spacious Family-Friendly Chalets: A significant highlight is the provision of "very spacious and comfortable room for six people," making it highly suitable for large families or groups. The chalets are designed to accommodate multiple guests comfortably, fostering a sense of togetherness.
- Breathtaking Mountain Views and Cooling Environment: Situated at 1,600 feet altitude on a hillside, the resort offers "amazing mountain views" and a "cooling environment." This provides a serene and picturesque backdrop for relaxation, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in Janda Baik's natural beauty.

- Private Balconies with Views: Each chalet comes with a "large balcony" which serves as an iconic area for guests to "savour the breathtaking view," sip coffee, and enjoy the cool mountain breeze.
- Shared Kitchen for Self-Catering: The availability of a "fully-equipped shared kitchen" with hot pot and BBQ facilities is a practical highlight. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, adding to the homely feel and potentially reducing dining costs.
- Unique Saltwater Swimming Pool: The resort features a Balinese-tile saltwater infinity pool, which is described as stunning and possessing anti-slip qualities. The presence of a "kiddie pool" also caters to families with younger children.
- Wellness and Outdoor Activities: The upcoming and current offerings of traditional massage, ATV trips, waterfall treks, yoga, meditation, and even ice baths provide diverse options for rejuvenation and adventure, catering to different interests.
- Tranquil and Peaceful Atmosphere: Despite minor maintenance issues noted in some reviews, the overall sentiment points to a "very peaceful" and "calm" environment, perfect for those seeking tranquility and a break from urban noise. The limited number of chalets (only 3) contributes to this sense of privacy.
- Opportunity for Stargazing: With minimal lighting in the resort area, it is touted as the "best spot for star gazing, with hundreds of stars across the horizon" on a clear night, offering a magical experience.

Mar 31, 2025 · Lim JasonGood Experience having family staycation here. But cleanness can be improve at open kitchen area. As it expose to small lizards, there will be animal dropping over kitchen appliances.
Apr 03, 2025 · Dayang YunusThe Hill Janda Baik has strategic location . However there are several things that can be improved or may need to take into accounts for those intended to choose this place for their trip .pros- very nice view . one can enjoy panoramic view of lush greenery around the hill- prompt response during booking- good water pressure despite the location- clean and aesthetically pleasing room- no tv , this is an advantage for me as it provide more opportunity for family bonding-plenty of parkingdisadvantages- steep hill , not suitable for very small kids , elderly and frail- swimming pool water is murky . most probably because of the groundwater but maybe not acceptable to some- mosquitoes. most probably because of the stagnant water but we had been to other resorts in janda baik but the hill has comparatively more mosquitoes compared to some .-cleanliness of the staff quarters in front of the resort can be improved .- breakfast are limited . they provide free cereals and milk, nasi lemak and 3 in 1 cofee .one must remember not to bring heavy luggage as the hills it can prove very challenging to bring them up . all in all a good experience for our family
Dec 31, 2024 · Fazhlina ZainudinThe wind is very strong, and i can feel the container room shaking, along with the glass door. It's not worth the price. it feels like a budget hotel. Walking up is difficult as the path becomes very slippery, especially when it rains, which makes me feel unsafe. The overall cleanliness is acceptable, but the pool water has a noticeable smell, making it seem less clean, I also felt nasty and experienced itchiness after swimming, which makes me question hygiene.
