For those driving, reaching the restaurant is straightforward. Jalan USJ 1/19 is easily navigable, and its proximity to major arteries in Subang Jaya ensures a smooth journey from various parts of Selangor, including Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, or even Kuala Lumpur. - Balanced Broth Flavor: The BKT soup base is noted for being "less savoury than some of the other popular spots," suggesting a more nuanced and perhaps less overwhelming herbal taste, with a "hint of MSG's golden touch to the taste, fabulous" for added deliciousness.
- Value for Money: As highlighted by a customer review, a substantial meal for multiple people can be surprisingly affordable, with no tax, indicating excellent value.
- "Gatekeep" Worthy Food: The sentiment of wanting to "gatekeep this place" from one reviewer speaks volumes about the high regard in which locals hold this restaurant.
Chuan Chiew Bak Kut Teh (泉洲肉骨茶), like many highly-regarded local Chinese restaurants, often relies on the consistent quality and affordability of its food as its main "promotion" to attract and retain customers. Their value-for-money pricing, as seen in the customer review mentioning a meal for RM88.50 with no tax for several dishes, is a compelling offer in itself.
While specific, regularly advertised "special offers" in the traditional sense may not be their primary marketing strategy, locals in Selangor can often benefit from:
- Daily Specials: Restaurants sometimes feature seasonal dishes or daily promotions that are announced verbally or on a whiteboard. It’s always worth asking about any daily recommendations.
- Set Meals: While not explicitly stated as a "promotion," their menu includes "Set Bak Kut Teh" options which are inherently designed to offer good value for a complete meal.
- Word-of-Mouth Recommendations: For a place that diners want to "gatekeep," word-of-mouth is their strongest form of promotion, driven by the exceptional quality and affordability.
- Food Delivery Platform Offers: Chuan Chiew Bak Kut Teh is available on food delivery platforms like foodpanda, which frequently run their own promotions such as discounts for first-time users, free delivery, or percentage-off deals during specific periods. Checking these apps could yield additional savings.
The most reliable "offer" from Chuan Chiew Bak Kut Teh is their commitment to consistently serving delicious, tender BKT and other comforting Chinese dishes at a reasonable price, providing excellent value to its patrons every day.

May 23, 2025 · nicolle chinThis long-in-tooth institution for the popular Bak Kut Teh (BKT) dish originally from Port Klang, has now found new digs here in USJ 1. The previous premise located around SS14 Subang Jaya is no more. With a more spacious and relaxed air conditioned interior, dining here now is less of a chore. There's also an expanded seating area upstairs. The menu here has a lot more options such as the drunken chicken dish. Of course the mainstay of the eatery remains. The soup base of the BKT here is less savoury than some of the other popular spots around the SS14 BKT Alley. There's that inescapable hint of MSG's golden touch to the taste, fabulous. All in all, this place still serves up some really good food and good times preferably in the company of friends and family. Highly recommended.
Dec 01, 2024 · Simon ChoyFood that i always craving for since year 2000.. missed it for few years after their origins shop (in SS14) kena bakar.. the BKT soup is special taste than other.. their yao char kuai is fresh fried and crunchy.. sam chang yuk, pai kuat, and meats given is a lot for individual portion… most importantly, you can request to add soup anytime.. omg.. i love this BKT…
