Hotels like Hotel Kita often cater to travelers seeking affordability and a central location without the extensive amenities of luxury establishments. In a bustling district like Chow Kit, such hotels typically provide a no-frills approach, focusing on offering a basic place to rest and easy access to local transportation and attractions. For locals looking for a straightforward, budget-conscious stay, perhaps for a short business trip, a quick visit to the city, or while attending an event, such options can be appealing due to their practical advantages.
The location of Hotel Kita on Jalan Raja Laut places it in an area known for its lively street scene, traditional markets, and a wide array of local eateries. This allows guests to immerse themselves in the authentic pulse of Kuala Lumpur, experiencing the city's unique charm and vibrant daily life. Proximity to public transport hubs also typically enhances the convenience for guests looking to explore other parts of KL quickly and efficiently.
However, transparency is key when discussing any lodging option. It is essential for prospective guests, especially our local community in Kuala Lumpur, to be aware of all available feedback. Recent customer reviews for Hotel Kita have raised significant concerns regarding management, cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. These detailed accounts are critical for anyone considering this hotel, as they directly impact the potential quality and comfort of a stay. Our aim here is to provide a factual overview based on this public data, empowering you to make the best choice for your accommodation needs in Kuala Lumpur.

The hotel's location offers a significant advantage in terms of accessibility to various parts of Kuala Lumpur. ---Based on the nature of "Hotel Kita" as a lodging establishment in a central, busy area like Chow Kit, and considering the provided customer reviews, it likely aims to offer basic and essential services. However, the reviews also highlight significant issues that impact the actual delivery of these services. Typically, a hotel in this category would aim to provide the following, but guests should be aware of reported shortcomings:
- Private Rooms: The primary service is offering individual private rooms for guests, typically with options for different bed configurations.
- Basic Amenities in Rooms: Generally includes a bed, linen, and possibly a television. Air conditioning is a standard expectation in Malaysia's climate, though review suggests it might not always be functional.
- En-suite Bathrooms: Rooms would typically have private bathrooms, but reviews indicate issues with cleanliness and potentially water supply.
- 24-Hour Front Desk/Reception: A common service to assist with check-ins, check-outs, and general inquiries, though reviews point to significant customer service issues, including unresponsiveness and rudeness.
- Housekeeping: Daily cleaning services for rooms and common areas are expected, but reviews indicate poor cleanliness, with uncollected garbage in corridors and uncleaned bathrooms.
- Wi-Fi Access: While not explicitly mentioned in reviews, free Wi-Fi is a standard expectation for most hotels today.
- Basic Security: Includes general hotel security measures like lockable rooms.
- Affordable Rates: The hotel likely targets a budget-conscious clientele, as one review mentions "Foreigners stayed here for the cheap rent."
It is critical for potential guests to note that, based on the provided reviews, there are severe discrepancies between expected hotel services and their actual delivery, particularly concerning cleanliness, maintenance, water supply, and customer service.
---Considering the provided information, including customer reviews, here are the potential features and highlights of Hotel Kita, alongside significant concerns that serve as critical counterpoints:
- Strategic Central Location: Its prime location on Jalan Raja Laut in Chow Kit is its most significant advantage. This offers excellent accessibility to public transport (Monorail, buses) and is surrounded by numerous local eateries, markets, and shops. For those prioritizing a central base to explore Kuala Lumpur, the location is highly convenient.
- Affordable Pricing: The hotel likely targets a budget-conscious segment, offering lower room rates compared to upscale hotels in the city center. This could be a highlight for travelers seeking very economical accommodation.
Critical Concerns / Significant Drawbacks (as highlighted by reviews):
- Poor Maintenance and Run-Down Condition: Reviews explicitly state the place is "run down" and that the "present management has got no hotel management skills," indicating a general lack of upkeep and professional operation.
- Substandard Cleanliness: Major issues with hygiene are reported, including "uncleaned bathrooms" and "garbage along the corridors... piling and not collected." This points to a severe lack of regular and thorough cleaning protocols.
- Inconsistent Water Supply: The critical feedback mentions that "some rooms did not have water supply," which is a fundamental amenity for any lodging and a significant inconvenience.
- Extremely Poor Customer Service: Guests report "worst customer service ever," including staff being unresponsive to phone calls ("straightaway hung up my call"), emails, and displaying general rudeness. This is a major concern for guest support and problem resolution.
- Allegations of Illegal Charges: A serious accusation of charging 16% instead of 6% GST after June 1st, 2018, is made, suggesting potentially unlawful billing practices.
- Unpleasant Odors: While not explicitly stated in the provided text for Hotel Kita, issues like uncollected garbage often lead to unpleasant smells, detracting significantly from the stay experience.
Based on the reviews, the negative aspects severely overshadow any potential highlights regarding location or affordability, making it crucial for potential guests to be fully aware of these issues.

Address: 122, Jln Raja Laut, Chow Kit, 50350 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Given the extremely serious concerns raised in customer reviews regarding management, cleanliness, water supply, and customer service, it is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that any potential guest, especially locals in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, contact the hotel directly using the provided phone numbers *before* making any booking or visiting. This step is essential to verify the current operational status, inquire about specific room conditions, confirm the availability of basic amenities (like water supply), and assess if the customer service issues have been addressed. Such direct communication is vital for making an informed decision about staying at Hotel Kita.
---For residents of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, or those from other parts of Malaysia considering a stay in the city, the suitability of Hotel Kita on Jalan Raja Laut in Chow Kit is, unfortunately, severely questionable based on the provided customer reviews. While its central location offers theoretical advantages, the practical reality presented by past guests paints a concerning picture.
Historically, a hotel in this prime Chow Kit location would be appealing for its accessibility. Being on Jalan Raja Laut, it offers easy access to the Chow Kit Monorail station and numerous bus routes, making travel around Kuala Lumpur convenient and cost-effective. For locals needing a base for business, attending city events, or exploring the vibrant local scene, the central position is undeniably a plus. Similarly, for budget-conscious travelers, the prospect of affordable rates in the city center would typically be attractive, allowing more funds to be allocated to experiences rather than accommodation.
However, the overwhelming and severe negative feedback from recent customers fundamentally impacts the hotel's suitability. Issues such as the premises being "run down," "uncleaned bathrooms," "garbage along the corridors," "no water supply" in some rooms, and "worst customer service ever" are critical deficiencies that undermine the very purpose of lodging – to provide a comfortable, clean, and functional place to rest. Furthermore, the serious accusation regarding a 16% GST charge instead of 6% points to potential illegal practices that no guest, local or otherwise, should have to contend with.
Therefore, while the location of Hotel Kita is indeed central and convenient, its suitability for locals is currently extremely low due to the reported severe deficiencies in management, maintenance, cleanliness, and customer service. For any resident of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur seeking a reliable, comfortable, and problem-free stay, it is STRONGLY ADVISED TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AND THOROUGHLY VERIFY THE CURRENT CONDITIONS AND OPERATIONAL STANDARDS OF HOTEL KITA BY CONTACTING THEM DIRECTLY, AND TO CONSIDER ALL AVAILABLE ALTERNATIVES BASED ON RECENT REVIEWS, BEFORE MAKING ANY BOOKING DECISION. The current information suggests that this establishment may not meet basic expectations for a satisfactory hotel experience.

Hotel Kita Reviews
The place is run down. The present management has got no hotel managent skills. The bathtoom is uncleaned and the garbage along the corridors were piling and not collected. Some rooms did not have water supply. Foreigners stayed here for the cheap rent.
Oct 04, 2022 · Azmi ReiserleiterWorst customer service ever! Asked for tax invoice by phone numerous time but they either said the account staff has not come to work yet (at 10:30am, wow the best job ever?!) or they straightaway hung up my call! How freaking rude. Emailed them many times but no one from their company bothered to respond. This hotel isn't even worth 1 star! Craziest thing is they still charge 6% GST on the bill after 1st June 2018 but the charged amount is actually 16% of the subtotal instead of 6%. You have committed an offence, Hotel Kita!
