We stayed here for 1 night, mainly to enjoy rural area outside of Seramban and to hike in nature. Kairos Villa is a great platform for that. It's situated in the beautiful, quiet area of Pantai and offers nearby access to local hikes. The house itself is a beautiful, calm place ideal for relaxing after a day's hike. The view over the valley from the top floor (towards Seramban) is absolutely stunning.The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They were helpful in preparing for our hike, arranging for some bananas for us, fresh from a neighbour's garden :)Getting to Kairos Villa with a Grab taxi was easy, getting away with Grab appeared quite difficult and we were lucky that one of the guests was gracious enough to drop us off in town.My only critique: we had requested a dinner meal to be made for us which, although delicious and plentiful, seemed a bit on the expensive side to us looking back. This may be less relevant to those used to travelling in a style of comfort and luxury.

The host is friendly. The view is gorgeous. The room is spacious. While the utilities provided aren't as luxurious as what you can find in other resorts, it gives off a homely vibe. It's a perfect weekend getaway for those who are hunting for places that are further away from the cities.A bonus: weather permitting, you might even be able to witness the glorious sunset and the splendid night sky. 10/10.

A Gem in the HillsOur getaway at Kairos Villa was a relaxing break from Kuala Lumpur’s hustle. Hosts Michael and Sue made us feel right at home with their outstanding hospitality.The villa’s balcony was our haven, where we enjoyed steamboat dinners against a backdrop of spectacular sunsets.Our dogs had the freedom to roam and revel in the space.Be mindful of the natural bugs at night—it’s all part of the villa’s rustic charm. A perfect retreat for relaxation and a touch of adventure.

Booked 2 rooms for 4 of us.When arrived at the villa, we get welcome by Michael who is the owner of the villa. He guided us to park the cat properly in the villa (the villa can accommodate around 3 to 4 cars inside the gate) other cars can park by the road.Michael took the time to explain the villa to us... from the history to the decorations. After that he showed us to the rooms.Su in charge of preparing the food for our dinner (steamboat and bbq) and next day morning breakfast.The whole villa is run by the owner.The stay make us feel like a family gathering where we spend the time chit chat, having coffee & snacks together with the owner and other guests.Overall, it is a pleasant stay to get rid of city hectic, rejuvenate with the fresh air from forest and relax with the peaceful forest environment.The kids also enjoy the discovery of bugs, flora and fauna surrounding the villa.

My honest review.First of all, caveat: stayed last year in August for one night, so this review is a bit late. Overall it wasn't an unpleasant stay, but certain things that transpired left a slight bitter taste in the mouth. Hence, 3 stars.What I like:- booking process was easy. Sue was easy to deal with over WhatsApp- it's a relatively short drive from KL (less than 1h 30m)- this place is advertised as a pet friendly place and my dog was welcome to run around freely unleashed, which was the point of the stay- the toilet was clean and not smelly and the toilet seat was not stained (in some homestays, the toilet can smell or look funky)What I didn't particularly like:- there were dust on surfaces (floor, table) in the room. My mum picked up on this straightaway- the caretaker was friendly and welcoming. She'd make trips to town to run errands and to pick up her kids etc. But there were several experiences that made me uncomfortable:1) On one of these trips, I asked if she could help to pick up a 4 or 6-pack Tiger from whichever convenience shop and I would reimburse her. She didn't reply my text so when she returned, when she didn't pass me the beers I assumed she didn't manage to get it. The next morning, I met her downstairs and she asked why I didn't consume the beers I asked to buy and I said I didn't know she bought any. She then opened the fridge to show me that she put it in there. Ok, I would just bring it back home with me, this is just a simple miscomm.2) When it comes to payment, I asked how much the beers cost so I could TnG her the cost. She said she couldn't remember but said let's just agree on this X sum, which seems on the high side to me, for just the item. I double checked the item and found the price tag and pointed this to her. She then said oh yes but I have added on a 'service fee' or 'transportation fee' (I can't rmb exactly what she said). Lady, I do not mind paying you a fee for your service but why not be transparent from the start? The feeling I get is that this is not the first time she's done it to a guest. Left a bitter taste in my mouth, definitely. For info, I remember the beers cost something like RM39.90 and she added on about RM20 extra (can't remember exact amount).- lastly, on the one and only morning I was there, they engaged workers to repair the sliding door leading outside from the kitchen. The night before, caretaker gave me advanced notice and requested for me to keep my dog in the room for one hour while the repair works are ongoing. OK, not a problem but I did wonder, couldn't it be done after I leave like 2-3 hours later? The next morning, we woke up early and took my dog for a walk down the winding road, met other owned/stray dogs (a nice morning). After that, I respected the wishes of the caretaker to keep my dog in the room. However, to note, the repair works actually went on for the entire morning (they were still there when I left). After repairing the sliding door, they went on to fix other things and I could only assume they were doing minor refurbishment works. Overall, could not let my dog run around freely and marred the experience.I only stayed a night. Initially, the plan was to have an option to extend another night (informed Sue of this) but ultimately we decided against it.The surroundings are peaceful and tranquil. Nice place for a retreat. Rooftop view is nice as well. The price is reasonable for the stay as well.I would recommend for future guests to self-sustain (BYO food and drinks) and have as little interaction with the caretaker for a more pleasant experience.
