Kampung Cheras Baru Introduce
Are you a Selangor resident looking for a unique lodging experience, perhaps considering a long-term stay in a place that offers a blend of traditional community feel and urban convenience? Or maybe you're simply curious about a specific locale within Ampang that provides more than just a place to sleep? Welcome to **Kampung Cheras Baru** in Ampang, Selangor. Unlike a typical single lodging establishment, Kampung Cheras Baru is a vibrant and established residential area – a "kampung" or village, as one local review aptly puts it, "at city skirt." This distinction is crucial, as lodging here refers to living within this community, rather than at a singular hotel or homestay.
Kampung Cheras Baru offers a glimpse into a unique local lifestyle. It's a place where traditional community values meet the practicalities of urban living. While it may not boast luxurious amenities of a high-end condominium, it provides an authentic, lived-in experience. Reviews from locals paint a picture of a place with specific charms and practical considerations. Understanding these nuances is key for anyone in Selangor considering Kampung Cheras Baru as a potential long-term lodging solution or a temporary base to experience local life.
Kampung Cheras Baru is located at **68000 Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia**. This places it within the Ampang district, a mature and well-connected part of Selangor, bordering Kuala Lumpur. The postcode 68000 covers several areas in Ampang, positioning Kampung Cheras Baru as an accessible residential area for those within Selangor and Greater Kuala Lumpur.
For those relying on private transportation, Kampung Cheras Baru offers decent connectivity. Major roads and highways such as the **Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2)** are generally accessible, providing routes to various parts of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. This makes commuting to work, educational institutions, or other urban centers relatively straightforward. However, a review mentions "Roads outside got potholes and broken/covered streetlights" and "Bandaraya liked no working at all and control on the traffics here," indicating that external road conditions and traffic management in the surrounding areas might require careful navigation for daily drivers.
Public transportation options are available in the vicinity. Bus routes pass through areas near Kampung Cheras Baru, connecting residents to various destinations. For rail access, nearby LRT stations on the Ampang Line, such as **Pandan Indah LRT Station** or **Cempaka LRT Station**, would typically be a short drive or feeder bus ride away. Ride-hailing services like Grab are also widely available, providing convenient on-demand transport throughout Ampang and Kuala Lumpur. While public transport might require some planning, it is generally accessible for residents of Kampung Cheras Baru. Despite potential traffic issues, its "city skirt" location offers a balance between quiet residential life and access to urban amenities.
As Kampung Cheras Baru is a residential area or village (kampung), rather than a specific lodging establishment, the "services offered" are those typically available within the community itself that support residential living. These include:
- **Residential Housing:** Primarily providing land and properties for individual homes, ranging from bungalows to terrace houses, for long-term living.
- **Local Eateries & Shops:** The reviews highlight the presence of local businesses, such as a shop that "sells shwarma.. it's cheap and I like the taste, also the portion is quite large," suggesting a vibrant local food scene. There's also a mention of a "contemporary coffee shop" beside a laundry, indicating daily conveniences.
- **Community Amenities:** As a village, it would have basic community infrastructure like local schools (one review mentions "whole road infront the school"), religious sites, and small parks or recreational areas.
- **Local Markets:** A significant highlight from the reviews is the "Wednesday night market" (pasar malam), which operates "infront the school to the market," offering fresh produce, local food, and other goods. This is a key community service.
- **Laundry Services:** The mention of a "laundry just beside" the coffee shop indicates readily available washing facilities for residents.
- **Protected Parking (Limited):** One review specifically mentions "Got protected parking, but it's very limited," which applies more to apartment buildings within the area, if any, rather than the entire kampung. For traditional kampung housing, parking is usually on individual lots or street-side.
- **Public Utilities:** Access to essential utilities like water, electricity, and telecommunication services for residents.
Kampung Cheras Baru, as a lodging environment (residential area), possesses several unique features and highlights that make it distinct and potentially appealing to local users:
- **Authentic "Kampung" Atmosphere:** It offers a rare chance to experience traditional Malay village life at the fringe of a major city. This blend of rural charm and urban proximity is a significant draw for those seeking a unique living experience.
- **Vibrant Local Food Scene:** Reviews specifically praise the "shop sells shwarma.. it's cheap and I like the taste, also the portion is quite large," and mention that "all the food will be gone by 7pm" at the night market, indicating popular and delicious local culinary offerings.
- **Wednesday Night Market (Pasar Malam):** This weekly market is a major highlight, providing not only fresh produce and affordable goods but also a lively community gathering point and a wide array of local street food. It's a cultural experience in itself.
- **Unique Local Delicacies:** The review highlighting "No place in this country produce this kind of Sarawak Layer Cakes except in Kampung Cheras Baru. Beautiful and Tasty. Made by a Man!!" points to a highly specific and cherished local specialty that draws visitors, making it a unique feature for residents.
- **Community-Centric Living:** As a traditional village, it fosters a strong sense of community, potentially offering a more supportive and neighborly environment than purely urban residential areas.
- **Affordable Cost of Living (Implied):** Generally, living in a "kampung at city skirt" can offer a lower cost of living compared to prime city areas, particularly for food and basic necessities.
- **Accessibility to City Skirts:** Its location allows for relatively easy access to central Kuala Lumpur while retaining a distinct identity and lifestyle.
As "Kampung Cheras Baru" refers to an entire residential village/area and not a single lodging establishment, there is no central contact phone number for "lodging" in the traditional sense. Individuals seeking lodging within Kampung Cheras Baru would typically need to search for individual rental properties, rooms, or homestays advertised by private owners or real estate agents within the area. Therefore, no phone number is provided here as it would be specific to individual property listings.
Address: Kampung Cheras Baru, 68000 Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia
Kampung Cheras Baru offers a compelling and unique lodging proposition for locals in Selangor, particularly for those who appreciate an authentic community living experience fused with urban accessibility. Its designation as a "kampung at city skirt" perfectly encapsulates its suitability. For residents looking to escape the relentless pace of pure city living but still requiring proximity to amenities and work opportunities, Kampung Cheras Baru provides that ideal balance. It offers a quieter, more grounded environment, fostering a strong sense of community and neighborliness that is often hard to find in modern developments.
The vibrant local scene is a significant draw. The presence of unique culinary delights, such as the praised Sarawak Layer Cakes and the "cheap and large portion" shwarma, along with the bustling Wednesday night market, enriches daily life. These elements contribute to a distinct local flavor that provides both convenience and a sense of belonging. For locals, being able to access fresh produce, diverse street food, and community events right on their doorstep is an invaluable aspect of daily living that transcends mere "lodging."
While some reviews mention challenges with external infrastructure like road conditions and traffic management, these are often common considerations in mature urban fringe areas and might be acceptable trade-offs for the affordability and community spirit that Kampung Cheras Baru offers. For a local resident seeking a long-term home or a temporary stay that truly immerses them in Malaysian kampung life within a stone's throw of the city, Kampung Cheras Baru presents an authentic and enriching lodging environment. It's not just a place to stay; it's a place to live and experience the unique charm of a traditional village thriving within a modern metropolis.
