Old Anson Road Recipes Nasi Kandar Introduce
For those in Teluk Intan, Perak, seeking an authentic taste of Malaysian Indian cuisine, particularly the beloved Nasi Kandar, Old Anson Road Recipes Nasi Kandar stands as a local culinary landmark. While often categorized broadly as an "Indian restaurant," this establishment specializes in Nasi Kandar, a quintessential Malaysian dish consisting of steamed rice served with a variety of curries and side dishes, chosen by the diner. Its very name, evocative of Teluk Intan's historical charm, hints at a heritage of flavour, bringing classic recipes to the modern palate. For locals, this isn't just a place to eat; it's a familiar spot for a hearty, flavourful meal that's deeply ingrained in Malaysian food culture.
Nasi Kandar is celebrated for its rich, aromatic gravies and the unique experience of "kuah campur" (mixed gravies), where different curries are drizzled over the rice, creating a symphony of flavours. Old Anson Road Recipes Nasi Kandar clearly aims to deliver this authentic experience. Customer reviews highlight that while some curries might be lighter and less spicy than expected for a strong "kick," the ability to add chili paste allows diners to customize their heat levels. The texture of their white rice, noted for its "light stickiness," also contributes to a satisfying meal, perfectly absorbing the accompanying gravies.
Perhaps the most significant draw, as indicated by customer feedback, is the fried chicken, which appears to be a best-seller. This golden-fried, crispy, and flavourful chicken is a staple side dish for many Nasi Kandar enthusiasts, often defining the quality of the meal itself. Beyond the food, the restaurant is praised for being "simple and cheap," making it an accessible option for "everyone to afford." The friendly owner, fast service, and clean environment further enhance the dining experience, making Old Anson Road Recipes Nasi Kandar a popular choice for daily meals. While recent comments touch on rising prices, which is a common sentiment across many eateries, the core value of an affordable, authentic, and satisfying Nasi Kandar experience remains a strong proposition for the Teluk Intan community.

Old Anson Road Recipes Nasi Kandar Reviews
Arrived around 2pm. Most of the dishes cleared. Deicide to have a little 'kuah campur', veggies and fish. The curries taste very light and less spicy. It comes with a spoon of chili paste. Don't feel any kick coming from it when you blend with rice. I like the texture of the white rice. It has a light stickiness. It seems their fried chicken is the best seller.I will say this a simple and cheap nasi kandar where everyone can afford. Owner was friendly. He always keeps eyes on his customers. Service was fast. Clean environment. Love the posters displayed in the shop.

Jan 31, 2025 · WaiTuck CHONGFried bean sprout and the completely out of place red chilli paste shouldn't be in plate of nasi kandar, a proper one that is. I asked to put some in just to see if they did it any differently and nope, the chilli paste unsurprisingly, managed to prove me right yet again. The rice doesn't taste good, the curries are too thin and the chicken innards weren't great. The only positive I can say is their spiced fried chicken which turned out to be flavourful enough. Service wise they aren't fast and while they dedicated a takeaway line, it isn't the most user friendly. Price wise they aren't exactly cheap with the fried chicken being a little expensive while the rest are on par, which is a problem because the taste of those aren't anywhere near par.Taste factor: 2.0/10Return factor: unlikely
