Teresek View Motel is located at 1, Julie's Hostel, FT1508, FELCRA Tembeling Tengah, Kuala Tahan, 27000 Jerantut, Pahang, Malaysia. This address places it within Kuala Tahan, which is the primary gateway village for visitors heading to Taman Negara National Park. Kuala Tahan is a small, bustling hub where most of the park's administrative offices, tour operators, and accommodation options are concentrated.
In terms of accessibility, Kuala Tahan is reachable primarily from Jerantut, a major town in Pahang. From Jerantut, travelers typically take a bus, taxi, or a pre-arranged transfer to Kuala Tahan. The journey usually takes a few hours, offering scenic views of the Pahang countryside. Once in Kuala Tahan, most of the village can be explored on foot, and Teresek View Motel would be situated along one of its main arteries.
However, it's crucial to note the context of the customer reviews regarding this location. While Kuala Tahan itself is well-located for Taman Negara activities (being right at the river crossing to the park headquarters), the issues highlighted by past guests regarding Teresek View Motel specifically point to operational problems rather than geographical inaccessibility. The reviews indicate that despite being in Kuala Tahan, guests faced significant challenges upon arrival. This means that while the physical location might be convenient for accessing Taman Negara, the reliability of the booking process and actual stay at this particular establishment has been a major concern. Travelers should be aware that finding alternative accommodation on short notice in this small village, especially if prior bookings at Teresek View Motel fall through, can be "very hard" as "everything was booked already." This underscores the importance of verifying operational status and booking reliability before relying on its geographic placement.

Based on the provided customer reviews, it is evident that Teresek View Motel's operational practices and the quality of some services have raised significant concerns. While a typical hotel or motel would offer a standard set of services, the issues highlighted by recent guests make it challenging to list reliable services that one can expect without significant risk.
However, based on the partial information provided and general expectations for a motel in this category, we can infer the following, with the strong caveat that these may not be consistently delivered or available due to the reported issues:
Room Accommodation: The motel presumably offers individual rooms for rent. Reviews mention "rooms" and "corridors," indicating standard lodging units.
Basic Furnishings: It's assumed that rooms contain basic furnishings necessary for a stay, such as beds, and possibly a table or chair.
Cleanliness (with notable exceptions): One review mentions "the floors are clean in room and corridors." This suggests some effort in maintaining cleanliness in certain areas, though it's contradicted by "many dirty marks" on walls and lack of "emptying of toilet paper bins in my 3 nights," indicating inconsistency or neglect in other crucial areas.
Owner Interaction: A review states, "The owner is very pleasant and helpful." This indicates direct interaction with the owner, who might assist with local information or general queries. However, this positive personal interaction has been overshadowed by severe payment disputes.
It is important for potential guests to be aware that while some basic physical aspects of the property might exist, the reliability and delivery of standard motel services, particularly regarding booking integrity and room maintenance (beyond floors), appear to be highly problematic based on the available feedback. Guests should exercise extreme caution and verify current operational procedures directly before considering a stay here.
---
Based on the available customer reviews, Teresek View Motel presents a mixed and largely concerning picture regarding its features and highlights. While some operational aspects are mentioned, the overwhelming feedback points to significant drawbacks rather than positive highlights.
Location for Taman Negara Access: Geographically, the motel's location in Kuala Tahan is inherently convenient for accessing Taman Negara National Park. Being in the main village means guests are close to the river jetties, park headquarters, and various tour operators, which is a practical feature for those visiting the rainforest.
Owner's Demeanor: One review notes, "The owner is very pleasant and helpful." This suggests that personal interaction with the owner might be positive in terms of general demeanor and willingness to assist, despite the severe booking issues.
Cleanliness of Floors and Corridors: A specific point of praise in one review is that "the floors are clean in room and corridors." This indicates that at least some areas of the property receive attention regarding basic cleanliness, which is a fundamental expectation for accommodation.
However, it is crucial to address the significant negative highlights and issues reported by customers, which severely overshadow any potential positive features:
Booking and Payment Scam Allegations: Multiple reviews vehemently state that the motel operates as a "SCAM!" regarding online bookings. Guests who paid via platforms like Agoda were reportedly told by the owner that their payment was not recognized, and they were forced to "pay him the total if we wanted to stay there (double the price we checked online btw)." This is a critical and highly alarming issue.
Non-Recognition of Online Payments: The owner's claim of "no longer works with Agoda" and not being paid by OYO, leading to guests having to "pay again," is a recurring and severe problem that directly impacts financial integrity and guest trust.
Poor Room Maintenance (Walls and Bins): Despite clean floors, rooms are described as "badly in need of a fresh coat of paint," with "many dirty marks" on the walls. Furthermore, the lack of "emptying of toilet paper bins in my 3 nights" points to neglected hygiene and poor housekeeping practices during a guest's stay.
Difficulty Finding Alternative Accommodation: The consequences of these issues are dire, as highlighted by a guest who found it "very hard to find a new one as everything was booked already" in Kuala Tahan, a "small village" with limited "affordable accommodation for backpackers." This leaves stranded travelers in a highly vulnerable position.
Strong Warning Against Staying Here: The explicit and emphatic warning, "DO NOT STAY HERE for any reason!!!" from a disgruntled customer is a critical takeaway, reflecting an extremely negative overall experience.
In summary, while Teresek View Motel is geographically well-placed for Taman Negara, its operational practices, particularly concerning payment and consistent room maintenance, present severe risks and have led to highly negative experiences for past customers.

Given the severe and consistent negative feedback from actual customers, it is paramount to address the suitability of Teresek View Motel for locals in Pahang from a truly honest and factual perspective. While the intent of this section is usually to highlight benefits, in this particular case, the available public data dictates a cautionary approach.
Normally, a hotel or motel in Kuala Tahan would be considered suitable for Pahang locals for several reasons: it offers convenient access to Taman Negara for family outings, school trips, or personal adventures; it provides an affordable alternative to more distant or expensive accommodations, and it supports local tourism. However, Teresek View Motel, based on recent reviews, presents significant risks that make it **highly unsuitable for locals** – or any traveler – unless the reported issues are definitively resolved and verified independently.
The core problem highlighted by customers is the **"SCAM" accusation regarding payments and bookings**. Locals, like any other traveler, rely on the integrity of their bookings. Being asked to pay double the price upon arrival, despite having already paid online, is a severe financial and logistical burden. For a local family or group of friends planning a budget trip to Taman Negara, such an experience could be devastating, potentially leaving them stranded in a "small village" where "affordable accommodation for backpackers are not too many." This defeats the purpose of finding convenient lodging and creates unnecessary stress and financial loss.
Furthermore, while one review mentioned the owner being "very pleasant and helpful," this positive personal interaction is completely overshadowed by the fundamental breakdown in business practices. A pleasant demeanor does not compensate for being forced to pay twice or dealing with alleged non-payments from booking platforms. Locals expect transparency and reliable service, and these reviews suggest a severe lack thereof.
The cleanliness issues, such as "many dirty marks" on walls and unemptied "toilet paper bins," also detract from what locals expect from even basic accommodation. We value hygiene and comfort, and these reported conditions fall short of acceptable standards, especially after a long day of exploring Taman Negara's rugged terrain.
In conclusion, while Teresek View Motel's geographical location is indeed convenient for accessing Taman Negara, the overwhelming and consistent negative feedback from real customers, particularly concerning booking scams and poor maintenance, makes it **highly unsuitable for locals** (or any traveler) at this time. We strongly advise locals from Pahang and beyond to **exercise extreme caution, verify all details directly, and consider alternative accommodation options** in Kuala Tahan to ensure a safe, pleasant, and hassle-free visit to our precious Taman Negara. Your peace of mind and enjoyment of our state's natural heritage are paramount.

Teresek View Motel Reviews
As other reviews, this is a SCAM! We booked through Agoda at a very cheap price and once we arrived the owner said he no longer works with Agoda and he didn’t care if we already paid, he said we would need to pay him the total if we wanted to stay there (double the price we checked online btw). After this totally bad experience we left the place and it was very hard to find a new one as everything was booked already (take into consideration that Kuala Tahan is a small village and affordable accommodation for backpackers are not too many).DO NOT STAY HERE for any reason!!!
Aug 22, 2023 · Florencia LuchettiIt's no longer operating under OYO, because they don't pay him, so I had to pay again! Still waiting for refund! (Second OYO disaster)The rooms are badly in need of a fresh coat of paint, the walls have many dirty marks. But the floors are clean in room and corridors. No emptying of toilet paper bins in my 3 nights. The owner is very pleasant and helpful
Mar 16, 2023 · Meriyn ReesOwner not operating under OYO. He says OYO had not paid him although we booked with Agoda through OYO. We had to pay direct to owner. Agoda and OYO unhelpful with refund. OYO photos are all a facade. The place is decent enough but definitely needs to be freshened up. The owner and family are very welcoming and friendly. Ok for a night or 2. View from balcony is nice. Very basic but aircon and shower works. Get what you pay for. Contact owner directly and would NOT recommend to book through OYO.
Apr 25, 2023 · Spud TiffyThe owner of the place refused to honour my rate and asked for more money! This is unbelievable! First time ever and I have been to 60 countries! On my way to find another hotel I encountered more people who suffered the same!!It is a scam! He wants to use the online plataforms to attract people only and then asks for more money! He doesn't care what you say or what your reservations says.He lied at first saying he didn't have more rooms but then said he had but his rate is different. He makes you think he is forced to work with Oyo/Agoda and that's not the case! If you want out of those plataforms because you don't agree then work only directly with customers. Most dishonest person I have encountered in 3 months travelling Southeast Asia. Avoid!! Book somewhere else even if it means paying more but a decent perdón will get the business.
Apr 01, 2023 · Andrés SalinasThe room is nice and the AC gets super cold which is great after a day hiking the hot jungle. The rooms have cool little balconies that either face the street or the forest so there is a good view either way. There is WiFi in the lobby that works good enough for email which is great considering it’s in the jungle. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is overall pleasant. It is right across the street from a convenience store and restaurant that makes a cheap breakfast and a nice dinner. Every morning the local children gather in the lobby to participate in a screaming contest. Whomever is the loudest kid wins. Most days there are multiple winners. In all seriousness though, it would be nice if they got the kids under control. They let their kids and local kids run up and down the hall way screaming all day and all night and I know I’m not the first guest to point it out as being a little annoying.
