Kampung Tan Sri Hamzah, 28380 Kemayan, Pahang, Malaysia

4.0
95% of the trail is a red gravel/clay road, which goes through oil palm and rubber plantations (motorbike accessible). So in that sense, it is an easy trail which doesn't require climbing over tree roots etc until you're almost at the top. However, the trail goes up and down over several hills and can be steep at some parts. Slippery too, if it rains. Experienced hikers should find this a breeze and get to the peak in 40+ mins, while beginners should be able to do this with breaks in between at a slower pace. There are about 3-4 marble benches scattered along the trail. We saw small children at the top this morning, so i think this should be fairly family friendly. On our first trip, it was a clear view. On our second trip today, we arrived earlier and tried to catch the 'awan karpet' or carpet clouds as it had rained last night. The trail was cool and misty, and we hung around for an hour+ at the peak before we were rewarded with a couple of minutes of awan karpet when the sun came out around 9am++. However, the clouds didn't get low enough for a good view of awan karpet before the sun got hidden in clouds again, so we will try again another time. When you get back to your car, we recommend breakfasting at Pokok Besar Kopitiam, they make a good roti bakar 😋 - Wai Yi Lee
