City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang is located at No. 22, Lorong Thambi 2, Off Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, Pudu, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This address places it squarely in a part of Kuala Lumpur that is known for its accessibility and proximity to several key attractions, though it's important to understand the specific nuances of its immediate surroundings.
The hotel's location in Pudu, specifically off Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, places it a short distance from the bustling heart of Bukit Bintang. Bukit Bintang is famously known as Kuala Lumpur's premier shopping and entertainment district, home to iconic malls like Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Lot 10, and Fahrenheit88, as well as the vibrant street food haven of Jalan Alor. While not directly on the main Bukit Bintang strip, the hotel's position means that these attractions are often within a reasonable walking distance or a very short ride-sharing trip away.
For locals, accessibility via public transport is a significant factor. The hotel is noted to be under 20 minutes' stroll from Bukit Bintang Monorail Station, which offers connections to various parts of the city. While reviews indicate that direct MRT or LRT stations might not be immediately next door, popular stations like Pudu LRT Station (approximately 1.2 km) and Imbi Monorail Station (approximately 1.4 km) are relatively close. This means that guests can connect to Kuala Lumpur's extensive public transport network, allowing for convenient travel without relying solely on private vehicles or ride-hailing services. However, it's worth noting that some reviews suggest that for some, ride-hailing services like Bolt might be more frequently used due to the perceived distance from public transport hubs.
The area around Lorong Thambi 2 and Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah in Pudu offers a more local flavour compared to the glitz of central Bukit Bintang. Here, you'll find a mix of older shophouses, local eateries, and smaller businesses. While this can provide an authentic Kuala Lumpur experience, it also means the immediate vicinity might not have the same polished appearance as the prime tourist zones. Nevertheless, for those who appreciate exploring local haunts and street food, this location offers opportunities.
Major landmarks like Berjaya Times Square Theme Park are approximately 500 meters away, and Starhill Gallery is about 900 meters from the property. The hotel is also near The Exchange TRX building and Lalaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, which are significant new developments adding to the area's appeal. For guests with private vehicles, the hotel indicates it offers an on-site car park, though charges may apply, and nearby parking options are also available.
City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang offers a range of services designed to cater to the needs of its guests, primarily focusing on fundamental hotel provisions. Based on public information and general hotel standards, here's a breakdown of the services typically available:
- 24-Hour Front Desk: A consistent feature across reviews and hotel descriptions, ensuring that guests can check in, check out, and receive assistance at any time of day or night. This is crucial for late arrivals or early departures.
- Daily Housekeeping: The hotel provides daily maid services, including fresh towels and potentially new toiletries. However, there have been significant customer complaints regarding the quality and nature of this service, including instances where "Do Not Disturb" signs were ignored and personal items were reportedly tampered with or removed.
- Free Wi-Fi: Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, including in all rooms, which is an essential service for modern travelers who need to stay connected.
- Restaurant and Breakfast Options: The hotel has an in-house restaurant and offers breakfast options, typically a buffet or continental breakfast, with a surcharge. However, several customer reviews have critically highlighted the poor quality and availability of the breakfast buffet, with complaints about empty trays and a lack of refilling.
- Luggage Storage: For guests arriving early or departing late, luggage storage facilities are available, allowing them to explore the city without the burden of their bags.
- Tour and Ticket Assistance: The hotel's tour desk can assist guests with booking tours and tickets for local attractions, providing convenience for sightseeing.
- Air Conditioning: All rooms are air-conditioned, a necessity in Kuala Lumpur's tropical climate, ensuring guest comfort.
- Private Bathroom: Each room comes with a private bathroom equipped with shower facilities and free toiletries. Some reviews specifically mention rainfall showers and bidets.
- Basic Room Amenities: Rooms are generally equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, an electric kettle, a desk, and free bottled water.
- Security: The property offers 24-hour security and CCTV surveillance, providing a degree of safety for guests.
- Elevator Access: The hotel is accessible by elevator, making it convenient for guests with luggage or mobility concerns.
- Laundry Facilities (potentially): While some sources mention laundry services or facilities, it's advisable to confirm if these are self-service laundromats or a full laundry service with associated charges.
- Car Park: An on-site car park is available, though charges may apply. There are also indications of nearby parking.
- Business Centre: Some listings mention a business centre, which could include services like fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities.
City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang, despite some critical reviews, does possess features and highlights that might attract certain travelers, particularly those prioritizing location and basic amenities:
- Strategic Location in Pudu/Near Bukit Bintang: The hotel's most prominent highlight is its address. Being in Pudu, off Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, places it in a culturally rich area with proximity to the famous Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment district. This means easy access to shopping malls, vibrant nightlife, and the renowned Jalan Alor food street. For those who want to be near the action without being directly in the busiest part, this location offers a balance.
- Accessibility to Key Landmarks: Guests are relatively close to major attractions like Berjaya Times Square, The Exchange TRX, Lalaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, and within reasonable reach of public transport (Monorail, LRT via feeder services or a walk). This makes it convenient for both tourists exploring the city's highlights and locals needing a base near these hubs.
- 24-Hour Front Desk: The availability of a 24-hour front desk is a practical feature, ensuring guests can always get assistance, check in, or check out at their convenience, regardless of arrival time.
- Free Wi-Fi: In today's digital age, complimentary and reliable Wi-Fi throughout the property is a significant highlight, allowing guests to stay connected for work or leisure.
- Air-Conditioned Rooms: Given Kuala Lumpur's consistently warm climate, air conditioning in all rooms is a vital comfort feature, ensuring a pleasant indoor environment for guests.
- Budget-Friendly Option (Inferred): While not explicitly stated as a highlight in positive terms, the nature of the hotel and some of the critical reviews about amenities and service suggest it might cater to a more budget-conscious traveler looking for a basic stay in a good location.
- Private Bathrooms: The provision of private bathrooms in each room, often with hot water showers, is a fundamental comfort feature expected in a hotel.
However, it is crucial to address the significant concerns raised in customer reviews, as these impact the overall perception of the hotel's features:
- Issues with Room Comfort and Maintenance: Reviews highlight problems such as mold/mildew, non-functional power outlets, and cleanliness issues (e.g., stained bedsheets, ants, cockroaches). These severely detract from the "comfort" aspect that a hotel typically promises.
- Unsatisfactory Breakfast Service: The breakfast buffet has been described as "horrible," with issues of food scarcity and long lines, forcing guests to eat elsewhere. This indicates a significant deficiency in a key service.
- Concerns over Housekeeping and Security: Reports of staff ignoring "Do Not Disturb" signs, and alleged theft or tampering with personal hygiene products and money, are extremely serious concerns that compromise guest trust and security, overshadowing any positive aspects of daily cleaning services.
- Unfriendly Staff/Poor Service: Specific mentions of unfriendly security staff and general dissatisfaction with service indicate a potential lack of hospitality, which is a critical feature for any hotel.
While the location is a definite advantage, potential guests should weigh these reported issues against the convenience offered, especially if cleanliness, reliable amenities, and security are high priorities.

For locals in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, considering City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang requires a nuanced understanding, balancing its undeniable locational advantages with significant concerns raised by previous guests. While the hotel offers certain practical benefits, its suitability largely depends on individual priorities and expectations.
The primary reason why City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang might appeal to some locals is its strategic location. Situated in Pudu, just off Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, it offers relatively easy access to the vibrant heart of Bukit Bintang. For those who wish to be near the city's premier shopping districts (like Pavilion KL, Lot 10), entertainment hubs, and the famous street food haven of Jalan Alor, the hotel’s position is a definite plus. Local families hosting out-of-town visitors who want to experience the city's core attractions might find this proximity convenient. Furthermore, its reasonable distance to Monorail and LRT stations means that navigating Kuala Lumpur's public transport system is feasible, allowing locals to move around without necessarily relying on private vehicles.
Another point of suitability for budget-conscious locals or those seeking a very short, no-frills stay could be the potential for lower room rates compared to more established hotels in prime Bukit Bintang areas. If the sole objective is to find a basic place to rest after a day of exploring or working, and other amenities are secondary, the hotel might fit the bill. The presence of 24-hour front desk service and free Wi-Fi are also standard conveniences that are appreciated.
However, it is paramount for locals to be aware of the critical feedback from real customers. The issues highlighted – including concerns about room cleanliness (mold, mildew, cockroaches), non-functional power outlets, problematic breakfast service (poor quality, lack of refills), and, most disturbingly, allegations of staff misconduct regarding personal belongings and privacy (ignoring "Do Not Disturb" signs, tampering with items) – are serious. These undermine the very concept of comfort, security, and a positive guest experience. For locals who prioritize hygiene, reliable amenities, and above all, the security of their personal items and privacy, these reported issues are significant deterrents.
In conclusion, while City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang offers a geographically advantageous position for exploring Kuala Lumpur's key attractions and has basic hotel provisions, its suitability for locals is highly conditional. If your absolute top priority is location and you are willing to overlook potential significant drawbacks in terms of room comfort, cleanliness, breakfast quality, and even security, then it might be an option. However, for most locals who expect a certain standard of hospitality, hygiene, and trust from their accommodation providers, it would be prudent to thoroughly consider these serious customer complaints and perhaps explore other hotels in the vicinity that offer more consistent and reliable service.

City Comfort Hotel Bukit Bintang Reviews
Everything in Malaysia is good, except for this hotel. I have never been to a hotel like this, so frustrated that I have to evaluate in the middle of the night. Good service, beautiful location. But why do staff clean the room? We left the "Do Not Disturb" vote in front of the room so that the room staff would not have to clean, so why did I get a new teeth brushing in the toilet and my cleanser was 1/3 while I bought it. Sorry for being polite, but the bottle of women's hygiene solution also took away half a bottle, why? Not only me, but the room next to me also had the same case, some rooms lost money again. I thought that I was alone, who expected this situation to happen 6 years ago. Not to mention the room. No comfort, the power outlet cannot be used, forcing me to use pocket money to buy things to use. The breakfast was extremely bad, I could only eat each bread and Notela. As for my younger brother's room, there was a cockroach crawling on the night. Disappointed
Jun 09, 2025 · Mỹ DungMold meldew in the room we are staying in. The breakfast buffet is horrible. No waiting in line they will cut no matter what if you’re in line. They get food like animals. No food when we arrived. Empty they don’t even bother refilling the trays. Awful. We have to pay out of pocket to eat elsewhere for breakfast. The security is not friendly when he brought up the air dryer. We ask him to stay. So we can test it. He just left. The outlets to charge phone is horrible and not working. This 3 stars hotel is not even 3 stars. From 3 to 1 star.
May 24, 2025 · Tommy TranOverall a quiet and convenient location for intended stay-cation, staff is helpful and insightful with unrelated queries of location and merchants, however deluxe bedroom combined 2 single beds (and hurt my back on stirring from sleep), housekeeping entered room when there was no sign placed at door knob, shower soap dispenser was broken and unable to dispense soap as it's empty. To note - breakfast or restaurant option is available between 7AM to 9AM daily.
