Greystone Boutique Hotel Introduce
For those residing in or visiting Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, finding a suitable place to stay that balances comfort, convenience, and value is often a priority. Tucked away in the historic and bustling Pudu district, you'll find what was formerly known as Greystone Boutique Hotel, now operating under the name Kingston Hotel. This establishment offers a unique and memorable lodging experience, particularly for those who appreciate distinctive aesthetics and a strategic location without a hefty price tag.
Kuala Lumpur, a city renowned for its blend of traditional charm and modern marvels, offers a diverse range of accommodation options. From luxurious five-star establishments to cozy guesthouses, there's something for every traveler. Kingston Hotel, with its boutique approach, aims to stand out by offering themed rooms and a more personalized feel compared to larger, more generic hotels. Its transformation from Greystone Boutique Hotel to Kingston Hotel reflects an evolution, yet it strives to maintain its core appeal to guests looking for something a little different.
The hotel prides itself on offering more than just a place to sleep; it aims to provide an experience. The concept of themed rooms, as highlighted by guests, adds an element of surprise and delight, allowing visitors to step into a different ambiance each time they stay. This artistic touch, coupled with its affordability, makes it a noteworthy option for various types of travelers, including those on a budget, groups of friends, or individuals seeking a unique short-term stay in the heart of the city.
While centrally located, it's worth noting that its specific positioning within Pudu offers a quieter respite from the main thoroughfares, which can be both an advantage for peaceful sleep and a point to consider regarding initial accessibility. However, for those familiar with navigating Kuala Lumpur's vibrant streets, this can easily be overcome. The hotel’s commitment to providing a pleasant stay is evident in its efforts to offer clean, comfortable, and distinctive rooms.
The lively Pudu area itself is a treasure trove of local culture, offering a plethora of dining options from hawker stalls to traditional kopitiams, alongside a mix of old and new architecture. Staying in this district provides an authentic Kuala Lumpur experience, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the local way of life. Kingston Hotel, formerly Greystone Boutique Hotel, serves as a practical base for exploring not just Pudu, but also the wider cityscape of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, making it a compelling choice for a memorable visit.
Kingston Hotel, previously known as Greystone Boutique Hotel, is conveniently located at 36, Jalan Baba, Pudu, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This address places it within the bustling and historically rich district of Pudu. While Pudu itself is a vibrant area, Jalan Baba is noted to be a quieter lane, which can contribute to a more peaceful environment away from the main road's hustle and bustle.
The location offers a fascinating contrast: a serene spot within a highly energetic urban environment. Pudu is well-known for its traditional shophouses, local eateries, and a strong sense of community. It’s a neighbourhood that truly embodies the spirit of old Kuala Lumpur while still being remarkably close to modern amenities and attractions.
In terms of accessibility, Kingston Hotel benefits from its central Kuala Lumpur location. While tucked away, it's generally within a reasonable distance from major public transportation hubs. The Hang Tuah LRT and Monorail stations are often mentioned as being the closest public transport links, providing excellent connectivity to various parts of the city, including Bukit Bintang, KLCC, and Chinatown. This makes it convenient for guests to explore Kuala Lumpur's popular landmarks, shopping malls, and entertainment districts.
For those relying on ride-sharing services like Grab or traditional taxis, the hotel's address is easily locatable, though some drivers might initially find the specific lane challenging due to its slightly secluded nature. However, once familiarized, navigating to and from the hotel becomes straightforward. The area is also walkable, allowing guests to explore nearby local shops, cafes, and street food stalls on foot, truly immersing themselves in the local culture of Pudu. Despite its slightly hidden spot, its proximity to main roads ensures relatively easy access for private vehicles too, though parking might be a consideration in this dense urban area.
Kingston Hotel, formerly Greystone Boutique Hotel, offers a focused set of services designed to provide a comfortable and engaging stay. While it operates as a boutique hotel, guests can typically expect:
- Themed Rooms: A distinctive highlight, with rooms featuring unique designs and concepts, such as a "James Bond theme" as noted by a guest, often including unique elements like animated fireplaces.
- Complimentary Breakfast: A significant value-add, as mentioned by a customer, providing a convenient start to the day without additional cost.
- 24-Hour Reception/Front Desk: Ensuring guest assistance and security at all times.
- Daily Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness and comfort throughout your stay.
- Air Conditioning: Essential for comfort in Kuala Lumpur's tropical climate.
- Private En-suite Bathrooms: With basic toiletries provided.
- Television: For in-room entertainment.
- Free Wi-Fi: Reliable internet access is typically available throughout the property.
It's worth noting that as a boutique hotel, the focus is often on personalized service and unique room aesthetics rather than an extensive range of facilities like large swimming pools or multiple dining outlets, common in larger hotel chains. The services provided are geared towards ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free stay for guests who appreciate character and value.
The key features and highlights of Kingston Hotel, formerly Greystone Boutique Hotel, set it apart in the bustling Kuala Lumpur accommodation scene:
- Unique Themed Room Decor: This is arguably the most distinctive feature, offering guests an immersive and memorable experience beyond a standard hotel room. The "James Bond theme" and animated fireplace are examples of the creative touches.
- Excellent Value for Money: The inclusion of complimentary breakfast at a competitive price point (as noted, under RM100) makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers seeking more than just basic accommodation.
- Boutique Charm and Classy Interior: Despite its affordability, the hotel strives for a "classy" interior, providing an aesthetic appeal that belies its price category.
- Central Pudu Location: Situated in a vibrant, authentic Kuala Lumpur neighborhood, offering easy access to local food, culture, and markets.
- Proximity to Public Transport: While tucked away, its relatively close distance to LRT and Monorail stations ensures good connectivity to major city attractions.
- Peaceful Setting: Being located on a quieter lane within Pudu provides a more tranquil environment for rest after exploring the busy city.
- Spacious Rooms: At least one review highlighted the rooms as "spacious," which is a definite advantage, especially in city hotels where space can be limited.

Kingston Hotel, formerly Greystone Boutique Hotel, is a surprisingly suitable option for locals in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur for several compelling reasons, particularly for those seeking a unique staycation or an affordable yet distinctive place for visiting friends and family. Firstly, its prime location in Pudu offers a deep dive into the authentic Kuala Lumpur experience. For locals who might typically frequent more modern or tourist-centric areas, a stay in Pudu provides a refreshing change, allowing them to explore historic shophouses, savor traditional local delicacies from renowned eateries, and soak in the vibrant, everyday life of the city's older districts. It's an opportunity to discover hidden gems within their own backyard.
Secondly, the hotel's emphasis on themed rooms provides a novel and exciting element to a stay. For families, couples, or groups of friends looking for a fun and memorable experience, the unique decor, such as a "James Bond theme," transforms a simple overnight stay into an adventure. This creative approach offers a refreshing break from the often-uniform aesthetics of larger hotel chains, making it a perfect choice for a spontaneous city escape or a themed gathering. The inclusion of complimentary breakfast further enhances its appeal, offering added value that helps in managing the overall budget for a short getaway.
Furthermore, the affordability of Kingston Hotel makes it highly accessible for locals. In a city where accommodation costs can quickly add up, finding a comfortable, uniquely designed hotel that includes breakfast for a competitive price point is a significant advantage. This allows residents to enjoy a hassle-free and enjoyable stay without straining their finances, whether for a quick retreat, a romantic weekend, or hosting relatives. Its accessibility via public transport, even if requiring a short walk, connects it well to other parts of Kuala Lumpur, making exploration simple and convenient.
While some might find its slightly tucked-away location a minor navigational challenge initially, for locals familiar with Kuala Lumpur's lanes and byways, this is a negligible factor. In fact, this seclusion can be seen as a benefit, offering a quieter environment for rest away from the constant buzz of main roads. For groups of friends, particularly those who value unique experiences and a central base for exploring Kuala Lumpur's nightlife and culinary scene, Kingston Hotel provides a practical and entertaining option. Its blend of quirky charm, central location, and budget-friendly pricing positions it as an ideal choice for locals looking to experience Kuala Lumpur from a fresh and engaging perspective.

Greystone Boutique Hotel Reviews
First, the hotel's name has changed to Kingston Hotel, which we only discovered upon arrival. It’s tucked away in a remote corner of a lane, often confusing cab drivers who even ask why we chose such a secluded spot. Although it was booked for us by an agent, this hotel might be suitable for a group of guys looking for a basic, centrally located place. However, for women travelers, while we didn’t face any issues, the area doesn’t feel particularly comfortable or secure. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or solo female travelers. The rooms are dimly lit, with visible stains on the sofas and floor, and there are no windows, leaving you unaware of the outside until you step out of the hotel.
Nov 11, 2024 · Vasumathi AdwantWe had a very pleasant stay here. The room was spacious with James Bond theme and it even has an animated fireplace. The interior for the whole place was very classy. For the price below RM100, we even had a free breakfast. The only downside was the location of the hotel as it is located at the quiet part of Pudu.
Oct 26, 2019 · Mohd Razif JamaludinThe staff(lady) get me waited for nearly half and hour before started to open the door. I know she's been attending the other guest for checking. But the most polite that she can do is open the door and telling me to wait since she's been attending other's. What's make me mad because she's standing at inside and ignore my present infront of the hotel door. Then once she's open the door, i ask her why she's ignore my present and not telling me politely to wait. She said that she's alone and based on the SOP, she tend to settling the guest at the hotel lobby first. It doesn't make sense when the hotel is short of staff, and it's effecting the guest during check in. First expression of the service is so bad! The management should take serious on this issue and get it fixed asap. The staff should be more polite when talking to the guest
Jun 15, 2020 · Ezreen MariamI stayed here with my husband. We was on our honeymoon we booked a specific room. For role play.We booked this room and we was so happy..We got to the hotel they told us that the room didnt exist..We complained they showed us other rooms they even interrupted guests by knocking on doors .. it was awkward. I couldn't recommend it it was a bad experience...The manager said that the 007 room was the best it was wet.. and damp and the paint was coming away from the wall because of the damp. The smell of the alleyway covered the room ..No parking for carsUnsafe alley way for womenIf my partner didnt leave at night with me i wouldn't leave alone
